Nothing bad or great. It was a bit pricey and I wished the lady would have given us the family pack which was a little cheaper with more food. We ordered the same things in the family pack ironically and I asked her and she even admitted it was better!!! We ordered over the phone and saw the family pack when we picked up and paid. Next time I will order the family if we are in a tight bind to get Korean near by but not any time soon. There are other options around. Need to be understanding with customers if you want them to return!

This is one of better Korean take out place on the Windward side. We usually get the half family pack which feeds our family of three with enough leftovers for a couple of meals. They have a good variety of side dishes. Family Pack includes meat jun, bbq chicken, kalbi, bulgogi and mandoo.

Grew up in Kaneohe and have been coming here off & on for a while. Unfortunately, this place has gotten worse and more expensive each time we visit. The counter lady who is always there has zero personality. No hi, thank you, your welcome– Nothing! The food is good– usually. The meat Jun has recently been tasting like they dip it in oil. Yuk! The bbq chicken is usually over cooked & borderline burnt and the teri beef is a small portion that almost has no flavor. Food also takes a while considering they are only cooking your meat since the veggies are pre made. They are cash only and each regular plate is around $ 10& up! Portions are smaller than most. The counter help does a really nice job of placing the veggies piece by piece to give the illusion that it’s a lot. Many people I know who go here say the same thing & it’s actually like a joke about this place! Not good! lol! Perhaps she should spend that much time servicing her customers. They also give very little sauce and charge .25 cents each for extras. Pretty chintzy but not surprising.

Yook Gae Jang was a water bowl of chilli pepers, long rice, small strips of beef, and egg. No flavor. I am Korean, this is not Korean food. It had no soup stock flavor. I could not pretend to eat it and wasted $ 9.95. The meat jun was brown in color vs. the usual egg-battered meat you get anywhere else. It was old looking and did not taste well. The bibimkooksoo was runny and oversweetened. I get it, don’t go to fast food if I want Korean food. I learned my lesson after spending $ 30 there.

Just an alright place for Korean on the windward side good for take-out. I had the mandoo plate and was a bit disappointed. They used some kind of wonton skin for the mandoo so it wasn’t like«real» mandoo where it’s super doughy and carb-o-licious.

Worst EVER. I ordered the Meat Jun plate. The woman who took my order was very nice. Chapchae(brown noodles) were the last in the serving pan and she was scraping the bottom for it… Fine with that, but when I sat down to eat I noticed an odor. It was the chapchae. It smelled stale, kind of like stale rice. I tasted it and it was disgusting. I could tell it was sitting out too long. I asked if I could choose a replacement veggie and she kindly allowed me to. I began to eat my lunch when I noticed a black string like thing on my Meat Jun. I began to pull at it and realized there was a long black hair cooked into the batter of my Meat Jun and was wrapped around and entangled. Feeling disgusted, I threw out my plate and left.

Our family gets the half family pack from here. It’s enough for my wife and I and our toddler with some left overs. The vegetables are very good, we especially like the broccoli. Also, the bulgogi is not overly sweet like a lot of other places on the island. Definitely stop in!

Got Kalbi fix, yayeeerrrrrr. You get 4 sides with your meat portion and two scoops rice for $ 13. Worth it to me! Can only eat half, take the other half home. Only issue is that the mac salad was bland, a lot of mayo no salt or pepper. But the noodles, Choi sum and Kim chee were good. Cool little spot, CASHONLY. Good to stop while getting car registered, lol.

I will never eat here again or recommend to anyone. Why? The counter person is unfriendly, unable to focus on my order, and outright rude. First, no hello when approaching, just stare. Second I ordered a drink and never received it with my meal, instead, she asked if I wanted water. When I told her I paid for a drink, she made my drink, and told me why I was shaking my head. I told her; «So now you are telling me what I can do with my body?» I was shaking my head because the owners rely on this lack of service to survive. I was going to dine in, but left to eat in a better atmosphere. Imagine having to eat somewhere else than a restaurant! Got home in Kaneohe, first mouthful of veggies tasted slimy, most likely spoiled. Spit out the mouthful, and trashed the entire $ 14.00 meal. ZEROALOHAEQUALS ZEROSTARS.

Just a disclaimer: This place would be given 2.5 stars if we could vote that on Unilocal. They aren’t bad enough to be a 2 but I don’t think they deserve a 3 yet. This is a pretty decent korean restaurant. It’s in a convenient location for us so we usually phone in an order for take out. There’s usually a 5 – 10 minute wait for walk-in orders and the restaurant is pretty small. There’s only 6 tables for dine-in customers but these are usually occupied by people waiting for their food to go. The restaurant isn’t necessarily dirty but it could use a little renovation. Not to mention it was full of smoke today when we walked in. I usually order either the meat jun or the chicken katsu which are alright. My only complaint is that the meat jun is pretty oily and the chicken katsu tends to have parts that are cartilage or fat. Also, don’t forget cash or else you’ll have to find somewhere else to eat.

As a city girl, I rarely come to this side of Oahu, but I’m glad I found Yoonyson Korean in the Windward City Shopping Center for some tasty food. Small Korean BBQ joint with the usuals; mandoo, meat jun, kalbi, BBQ chicken etc. Beware; they only take CASH! On this visit, I opted for the Mandoo plate. For $ 8.99, I got 10 pieces of piping hot mandoo with rice and a choice of 4 sides. The sides were super fresh and all filled– felt kind of homely. Staff is very blah– no real personality even if you dine in. On my visit, I didn’t hear a single«Welcome», «Thank you» or «Come Again»

This is a decent little korean take out restaurant. They have a couple tables for customers who want to «dine-in», but it’s cafeteria style where you order from the counter and take your take out box to a booth to eat. I liked the food, we ordered meat jun and bbq chicken. They have your typical veggie sides to choose from too, just like pearls or yummys. The price was decent; everything was just A-ok though in my opinion. I liked their big plastic cups for water. We had opted to eat there, and I asked for a cup of water. I unexpectedly got this huge plastic cup of ice water. The service was quick and friendly too. I like that it is located in windward city shopping center. There is always plenty of parking, I can do some shopping at foodland if I have to or get a coffee from Starbucks.

This little BBQ place is all about the food! Portions were very generous, delicious & freshly made. The best quick, casual & reasonable BBQ we had on the windward side! There were a lot of eateries to choose from in the shopping center but we were drawn there by the awesome BBQ aroma coming from this place. We really loved their food!!!

Not much to say about this place. I was on the Windward side waiting to pick up my wife and I needed to get something to eat. While my preference would have been for Thai food I always feel weird eating in a restaurant by myself. I didn’t want fast food, which is what they have a lot of in this shopping center. So I went with Korean. This is your typical Korean plate lunch BBQ place. Big portions, lots of meat but also lots of veggies(kudos to them!). The food was pretty good actually. Would I go again? Korean food is never my first choice but it definitely has a leg up on fast food places and some other plate lunch places in the area.

I don’t know why this place gets such bad reviews. It’s take out local style Korean food that’s comparable to much more known«chain» fast food Korean joints. Maybe because this place is cash only people have an expectation it’s gotta be good? I dunno. Anyway, this place has an awesome deal offering a BBQ beef sandwich and fries for only 6 bucks. The beef is juicy and tender and their fries are made to order and the frying oil’s fresh. Much cheaper and tastier than MCD’s McTeri Burger, which, as of this date, is being offered at the Hawaii Golden Arches. So if you’re out on the Windward side, try this place out.

Idk wtf happened to the food here but it seriously went downhill. I use to love the Meat Jun from here cause it was pretty damn good, kept me coming back for years. I came here to order lunch the other day anticipating yumminess and I didn’t obtain it :( The service wasn’t the best, the girl taking my order barely spoke english and she wasnt the friendliest either. No Hi, hello or anything. She was straight up robotic. I miss the highschool kids that use to work here, atleast they smiled :) I ordered the Meat Jun/Chicken Katsu combo with Mac salad, garlic potatoes, cucumber kim chee & tofu. The place wasn’t packed, and those that were seated already had they’re food so Idk why it took over 15 minutes for my food to be prepared. But whatever I wasn’t about to waste another second in this place so I grabbed my food and left. I opened my plate when I got home and everything looked good and the portion of food was quite a bit. Too bad the food didn’t taste nearly as good as it looked. The Mac salad was bland and sorta watery so that got tossed in the trash. The cucmber kim chee was alright, Garlic potatoes were blehhh. I think the tofu was the best thing on my plate. The Meat Jun wasn’t like it use to be. It was super yummy before and now it was barely the eff they got it to be crispy and soggy all in one astounded me. The outer part of it was toasted and the inside was mushy. Texture wise it grossed me out, the taste had the same affect on me. YUCK would be the best word to describe it. The chicken katsu was prolly what caused the 15 minute wait for my food. I think they deep fried it the whole 15 minutes because seriously it was hard as nails. I thought oh yay another treat for my doggies. That wasnt the worse part of it. The effen rice was! I’m pretty neurotic about my rice. When I cook rice at home, I wash it till the water is clear sometimes my crazy ass takes 10 – 15 minutes till the water is clear enough for my liking.(I have issues) Prolly the asian in me idk? And i hate mushy rice, irks the hell out of me. Well the rice i got from here had like a mush clump in the middle of the scoop of rice. That fucked me up right there. Game over, end of meal. Fucking with my rice is like fucking with my emotions. Notice the swearing lol i cannot even express my feelings in depth about this without the vulgarity. The rice thing totally killed it for me and I will never eat here again. Yes it’s that severe. The food in general was garbage any how so no point in coming back. I tried to feed the plate lunch to my doggies and they didn’t even want it. My fatty dog is a food snob but my cray dog usually eats anything, rocks included. You know the food really sucks when not even your dogs will eat it. Bottom line is Eff this place. Mf’s cant even cook rice right!

Bland… My sister had the kim chee soup and i had the seaweed soup both were shall we say forgettable. The veggies were okay, the only decent tasting one was the egg. I don’t see myself coming back here again, i’ll stick to my korean bbq places in town.
