The only reason I’m giving this place two stars is because they are decent at gel manicures. But do your face a favor and NEVER let these people wax your eyebrows! OMG. I literally started crying. In the salon. Another lady there tried to fix it. Made it worse. (That was my fault. Should have known better). I won’t go back due to the way they handled this situation. They were in denial and the male owner was as rude as they come! I’d rather pay $ 30 for waxing at a legit spot which I should have done in he first place.

Wait time is usually not too bad and you can make an appointment. Free parking too! Lots of OPI colors to choose from. Massage chairs are great! Remember to bring cash because you can’t add tip to your credit card charge. There is an ATM and credit union right across the street.

Before doing my nails, he washes his hands. I was seated and noticed his station was really clean which was great. He made small talk and was super friendly to not only me but all the customers that walked in (: He was very professional from beginning to end ! We discussed how I wanted my nails to look & he said ok & went to work on my nails.
The finish product was way better than I could’ve imagined ! Nice nails aren’t Cheap & you definitely get what you pay for !! The price is extremely fair and the finish is amazing. I will definitely be back (: Such amazing service

Its been such a long time since I last visited Friendly Nails. I went in at about 1050am today and I got seated right away because it wasn’t really busy. The nail tech that helped me was really good and friendly. And I showed her an idea I wanted for my feet from pintrest and she accommodated! Thanks to the staff I will definitely come back soon for my next pedicure!

Danny is an amazing nail artist! I love every time how he does my nails! He always gets exactly what I want and the prices are fair in my opinion. Everyone there is always so nice.

I was desperately looking for a nail salon yesterday since the one I go to in town started closing on Mondays. A friend took me to this one and I truly LOVED it. Ana, a young gal, took care of me with a mani pedi. She was AWESOME. I showed her a pic of what I wanted on my nails and she did it to perfection. The place is clean, pretty modern
And has great parking. I’m excited that I longer have to go to town as I have found my happy place right in my own backyard.

Danny is the best! I have taken him pictures of what I want my nails to look like and he nails it every time! Highly recommend

The only reason I’m giving this place 4 stars is because of Danny, he’s probably the only reason why they have client’s. Other than that I give this place a big fat 1 star.
I came here with my cousin for a mani and pedi, we came on time and was greeted. The two ladies that were going to take my cousin and I for our pedicures seemed nice. Everything was good up until the lady cut my toe. I felt a sting and saw that she cut me. Btw she didn’t even look up and see if I was okay. I let her continue thinking she would say something. This is possibly the worst pedicure I have received! I’m not sure if I have bad luck or what but every time I’ve gotten a pedicure I have gotten cut, like wtf!
Danny well he’s the best, he is very fast but it comes out awesome. I will definitely be coming back just for him.

Always great service. Although they’re always busy they always strive to accommodate! I try to switch up my designs on my nails and the girls here always are able to make my nails look cute. Although lots of girls come to see Danny for more detailed nail designs the other girls are just as good. Don’t forget cash however for your tip!

Cash only for tips! Went here with friends a couple weeks ago and wish I had gone with my instincts and returned for the mani/​pedi I recently got elsewhere. My gel nails looked great for weeks. The main reason I wanted to get it redone was just cause my nails were getting longer than I like them to be. I only have a few complaints:
1) I wish they had warned me that gel damages your nails when you have it taken (or should I say roughly scraped) off. I read somewhere that with Gelish you «soak off, revealing healthy, beautiful nails»… total B.S. But I suppose it’s their job to give you what you ask for, not warn you about it. I would still get gel done when I need it to last long, but I definitely wouldn’t make a regular thing out of it or I’d end up with paper thin nails.
2) This is one of those places where «callous removal» consists of rubbing your feet with that rough sponge thing, NOT the cheese grater thing that actually gets the job done. There’s something sad about spending over $ 90 on a mani/​pedi and still having dry looking rough skin on your feet.
3) The cash only tip thing. Luckily I happened to have some cash on me, but in my opinion this policy is unprofessional and inconvenient. I witnessed more than one customer have to go find an ATM and come back with cash. I was surprised they actually came back, as they were both clearly irritated and about having to do that.
Despite these complaints this place is sadly the best nail place I’ve found recently in Hawaii, so by comparison it seems fair to give them 4 stars. I swear the quality of nail salons has gone WAY down since I first started having mine done as a teenager. You used to be able to walk in anywhere and get a really decent if not great mani/​pedi.

Walked in yesterday without an appointment and it was pretty busy, I told them I only had an hour for a gel mani and pedi. They took me in anyway and had me seated almost immediately. They started on people who came in after me but had appointments, which is fair. But they somehow manage to still get done within 45 minutes!
Other than a couple bubbles on my nails, the two nail techs I had did a really nice job (my main indicator is the edges at the cuticles and this is probably the best I’ve had yet). A little bit pricey compared to what I’ve gotten used to in California, but would def come back!

No matter how busy it gets the team here always does their best to accommodate you. I feel that they are more genuine than other nail salons. The girls here at least try to make conversation and make you feel welcome. I come from the other side of the island to see Danny to get my claws looking FLEEK and let me tell you they always do!!! If you want to get your nails did make sure you make an appointment with him in advance depending how much work it is you want his undivided attention. I will come back time and again

Ive always had great experiences at Friendly’s. They are open until 7pm on the weekdays (convenient for after work) though I often go on the weekend mornings.
The chairs are new and the tools look very clean. I love the staff. They do a great job and I never feel they are talking about me in Vietnamese!
Parking is easy and I always stop by Down to Earth for some organic goodies afterward.
Friendly’s does not accept credit card TIPS, so bring a little cash.

This place is great! The girl did a great job. She was excellent an fast. They have 6 pedicure chairs so walkins are easy to get. They also do mani an fills but that’s not my thing, if it was they have plenty of chairs an techs so probably not a wait.
I will definitely come back here! Also my pedicure was only $ 26 wow yay!!! They do have a deluxe which I think it $ 36 but I like the basic pedicure.

I get my nails done by Danny and am always satisfied. I let him know what I want or what the occasion is and always knows exactly what to do.

I live in Waipahu but it’s worth the drive to Kailua to get my nails done by Danny. I come with my daughter who first brought me here. Danny is such a creative nail stylist. He does all original designs and he is such a talented artist.
I have been to many nail salons and by far, Danny exceeds my expectations. I would highlu recommend Friendly nails to anyone who wants their nails to be different!

Always saw danny on instagram and needed to get my nails done. Never been to him and decided to text and see of he had any opens that day. Luckily someone cancelled and i got an appt with him the same day!
Arrived to a clean, friendly salon and danny got started right away, hes very professional and makes sure your nails are perfect! Got a full set of acrylics, with gelish on top. He shaped them with a «coffin» shape and i asked for a roses too. He added the rhinestones and made them look beautiful.
Overall my nails took an hour and only cost me $ 53 wow! I think thats a deal for the quality of service and how your nails look after.
Definetly will be coming back, danny is the best!!!

First time ever getting fake nails and have been obsessed with getting stiletto nails! I did my IG and Unilocal research and found Danny. This shop is located in Kailua across the street from Safeway.
Danny is super talented with his nail art and in high demand. My appointment was at 2pm but he was backed up and offered a
complementary pedicure. I had extra time
to decide on my nail colors.
This salon was very busy with lots of happy customers.
My nails– I love! Gel, stiletto and crystals. I showed Danny some styles I liked from pinterest and IG along with the colors I liked and gave him artistic freedom on the rest. Danny «nailed» it!

Bottom line I’m very pleased with my new nails and definitely hooked.
Now I just gotta learn how to type with these nails…
Tip: they accept cards but gratuity is cash only so bring that paper for tips!

I will say that I have been seeing Danny at Friendly Nails for over a year, I figured since I will be leaving the island for a move that I would take time to write a review for his shop. Over the past year that I have gone, not once did I leave unhappy. I have gotten tons of designs done pretty much perfectly for as long as I have gone to Danny. The rest of his staff, particularly Sandy, are quite friendly and do quite good work on pedicures.
It breaks my heart to have to leave and not have my nails done by him for a while, because he’s set the standard so high for me. The shop is very clean every time i go in and even though some may complain about supposed «high prices», with this shop, you definitely get what you pay for. I do not mind paying the money I have for such excellent work quality in manicures, pedicures, full sets, and artistic designs. In my opinion, Friendly Nails is one of THE BEST places to go by far.
