Your avg hole in the wall nail spot. I paid $ 13 for an eyebrow wax & that seems really high. There wasn’t a menu on the wall for services, that I saw, so I can’t say I was definitely overcharged or not. If I am paying that much I expect a nicer establishment.

I was perfectly satisfied with what I got at Elite Nails & Spa — a decent mani/​pedi at a decent price ($ 35).
Mind you, I had the worst mani/​pedi of my life two weeks before this, and for one reason or another I could not make it to a salon to get my nails done until well into my Hawaiian vacation.
My pedicure was great. The guy who did it was quiet and not exactly friendly, but my toes looked good at the end. It was VERY basic. No scrub, no mask, no paraffin, very short massage. But my toes FINALLY looked good.
Manicure was adequate at the very best. The girl did not ask me what shape I wanted my nails, and despite the fact that they were square to start with, she decided to make them round. It is no longer the 80’s people. And I’m not old. Yet. Anyway, with all of the reshaping they ended up really short. However, several days later, back in SF, I don’t even have a chip. And I’m REALLY hard on my nails.
Not the cleanest place. Not a spa atmosphere. This is a bit of a chop shop. If you have the right expectations, you’ll do fine.

Wonderful experience! They got Me right in for a pedicure and did a fantastic job! Michelle was the young lady that performed my pedicure and she was great! She took her time and gave a great leg massage. Best pedicure experience in Kailua.

Another great job Danny! So many compliments on my «falling leaves» nails. Everyone has a different favorite. The all time favorite for a few friends is Hello Kitty. Can’t wait for Halloween and Christmas!

I bought a groupon since I’ve been trying to support more businesses on the windward side. I was extremely disappointed with the groupon and their response to this issue that came about.
The groupon as $ 20 for a mani-​pedi or $ 30 for a french mani. The way the service was displayed in the groupon was very misleading as the french mani (which I purchased) was for a set of acylics (which isn’t even listed in the groupon details). When I pointed this out, I was told that there was a lot of confusion and it was cleared up in the groupon discussion board. The only problem is that u can’t view the discussion board with the phone app.
Since french mani or pedi are usuually an extra charge (around $ 5 – 10) I asked if they could just give me the service since I paid for the more expensive acrylics and the costs would even out. They said that groupon would not allow thm to switch the service and if I want the french tips I need to pay the extras costs. I thought I did such a good job reading the groupon and know I can’t put the full blame on them. I do however feel that their groupon was very misleading and for it to sprak discussion on the discuussion board, must not have been the only one.
Poor score is reflection of their poor customer service. The french tip wasn’t that great either as it chipped within the week.
They try to make you feel bad like they are losing money by participating in groupon, when the true intent of participating in groupon is to earn business by brining people in. They definately did not earn my business. There are a lot of nail places on the Windward side that have great customer service and great products.

I don’t work here anymore but I go back to get my waxing, gelish and stellar designs done by Rosanna! She is the only person I let wax my goodies and I will drive all the way to Kailua to see her! I wish more people would give them better reviews! Seems to me like the unhappy are motivated to leave reviews out of spite! (–_​-​) Doesn’t matter, I have always had a good experience there! Everyone is super friendly!

Updated jan 7 2013 — this place has closed. They have relocated by down to earth grocery store. I don’t remember the the name of the new place but is not worth going to. Its cleaner but I felt that none of the workers cared if they were there are not. I give it a 1 star

I went to this location because I had a groupon. I was charged $ 20.00 extra without warning because I chose a nail polish that cost extra. I was not told that there would be an extra charge and no signs indicated that there would be an extra charge. Then I had to return immediately because nail polish was cracked and one nail was incomplete. The next day, the pedicure was cracked and smudged. When I tried to contact the salon, they kept saying no manager was there to call back later, then Monday.
This is the worst manicure/​pedicure that I have experienced and the customer service is extremely poor. I will never return to this salon and I would not recommend it either.
BTW: the nail technician was Rosanna.
Roseanna: The reason my nails are cracking, chipping and smudging on the same day as the service is because they were done poorly. I reviewed the Groupon. It does not say that Gelish is not included. There are no signs that say it is extra. You did not say that it was extra — intentionally, I think.
I do not have the time to come back everyday to have my nails redone because you did not do a good job the first or second time. I repeat: I will never do business with you or your company again. I think potential customers should be aware that you have a sister business in Hawaii Kai called Hawaii Kai Care Center. Beware! You can go almost anywhere and get better service.
I wish I had read the reviews on Unilocal before I purchased the Groupon.

Overlooking all of the mediocre-​to-​bad reviews, I visited Elite Nails today to use my Groupon. I had called the day before and had no trouble booking an appointment (I didn’t request anyone in particular.)
I pulled into the parking lot behind the salon, which had plenty of parking (what a refreshing change!). As I entered through the back door, I was promptly greeted and taken right away.
The nail tech who did my mani-​pedi, Mylynh, was a sweet lady, but I wasn’t altogether satisfied with the work. The pedicure was acceptable, and I am happy with the finished result. Unfortunately, I let her talk me into a French manicure, and I really wish I hadn’t. She applied a thick lacquer over the top that was supposed to make the manicure last a long time. But when I finished under the nail dryer, there were tiny bubbles all over my nails. Not the kind of «tiny bubbles» I like, and not cute. The polish started chipping after just a couple of days, too.
Another problem I had with Mylynh was the fact that she sniffled, coughed, and blew her nose through the procedure and didn’t then wash her hands or put on fresh gloves. Ick. I made sure to wash my own hands and feet after I left.
The salon itself is pretty unremarkable. It’s cramped and cluttered. To call it a «spa» is a real stretch. While they may offer massages in the cramped back room (right next to the laundry area), it’s hardly a spa atmosphere. At the Groupon price, the experience was disappointing, but had I paid full price, I would’ve been a lot more upset.
Elite Nails is located on the mauka side of Oneawa in between Ku’ulei Rd and Kihapai St. There is plenty of parking in their private, shared lot. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00am-7:00pm; Saturday, 9:00am-6:00pm. Closed Sundays.

Went in there plenty of times to get eyebrows down and never had a problem other than feeling rushed. Went in there today and the new older lady did my eyebrows. She kept saying you will look good when I do it. Well I told her what I wanted, and she said look in mirror. I kept telling her what I wanted and she kept telling me thats the best she could do. Best you can do?! I’m paying you, you will do what I want. She was very rushed and wasn’t even taking care of anyone. I laid on table And it was dirty. I’m not happy with my waxing and will be telling them about it tomorrow. So frustrated I pay them, and she says that’s the best she can do when all she did was wax a little and pluck a few.

this place was great. one of the girls working there (sylvia) really made the experience awesome for me. i went with my friend mel to keep her company, and got a pedi with her. being a guy, i wouldn’t do this myself, butt sylvia made the experience fun and comfortable the entire time. she was friendly and talkative and helped me to relax even though for me getting pedi’s r uncomfortable. she did a great job on my toes too.
they don’t have too many choices in color (that i saw), butt they do use opi polishes and something that’s supposed to be better than cal-​gel (honestly i have no clue if it is or isn’t better cuz i’ve never had that used on me… either cal-​gel or what they use). for me the price was very reasonable. sylvia’s sister even did some nail art for me drawing some skulls and barbed wire for me (trying to make it more manly. hahahaha)
my friend mel had some nail art done too… she didn’t seem as happy as me though. she picked some thing from a nail art book, and the guy who did her nails wasn’t able to make her nails look like the pic… to me it looked pretty gud, butt i guess it wasn’t quite what mel wanted. think she paid about $ 60. i only paid about $ 30. anyway, they do air brush stuff too if u want more detail for about $ 3/​nail too.
the service i had was awesome. sadly i think sylvia only works on weekends since she’s going to school. her sister works there full time though. i’d go back again since the sister team made it a fun experience for me and did a gud job on me too… with no judgement or making me feel awkward. thanx girls!!!

Staff is awesome! They are always friendly and extremely creative. The atmosphere is relaxed and the salon is very well kept. I have been coming here for years and have seen the business continue to grow. There are lots of new, fresh faces. Call for appointments so that you can get the relaxing experience you deserve.

If I could give this place lower than one star I would. The service is terrible and the staff are not friendly. I will never give this salon my business. Do yourself a favor and look for a place with better reviews instead of taking your chances on a place like this.

Not very impressed with this salon. The interior was not well kept and the staff was cold and distant. Received a decent pedicure and a mediocre manicure.

Just Recently Started Going Here, To Elite Nails & Spa… To Be Honest, Mainly B/​C I Followed My Nail Technician, Rosanna There. She’s The Best, and I Would Follow Her To Waialua If She Went There… Though I Hope She Never Does… B/​C I Am So In Love In With This Nail Salon!!! Everyone Is So Fun and Friendly. The Salon is Super Cute and Clean! I Have Been With Rosanna Through 2 Other Salons… and Neither Hold A Candle To Elite… Not To Mention, I have Seen The Work The Rest Of The Team Does… and If I Ever Had To Go To Anyone Other Than Rosanna, I Would Feel Totally One Hundred Percent Confident In Seeing Anyone There (Esp Cyndi)!!
Bottom Line… Nail Salons Are A Dime A Dozen… But Elite Nails and Spa… Stands Far Above Any Other Nail Salon.

Review from my wife: I should have listened to Lisa’s review, but I thought– how bad could a leg wax be? The woman acted like she had never done it before in her life. She used a toothpick-​sized stick and spread postage stamp sized wax spots on my legs, inches apart– it literally took 45 minutes and there is hair she missed everywhere. I had to show her where to re-​do and eventually I just got tired and gave up. Don’t do it!

Well, I actually would like to separate my ratings based on the services I received. 1^st– we were all walk-​ins, and there were FOUR of us! the first place we went to kinda laughed and said no way they could take all four of us, so we drove around the block to Elite Nails and Spa.
2^nd– the spa pedicure was great. The nail tech just kept asking me if I wanted to add on more things, like «a flower» or a «scrub massage», etc. She drew a couple of pretty flowers on my big toes and I was happy.
3^rd-​the spa manicure was pretty awful and I would post the picture of it, but I’m actually too embarrassed for anyone to take a close up of it. I can partially blame myself, but the brunt of the blame goes to the same nail tech (who also asked if I wanted flowers on my ring fingers and I obliged). The nail color I picked was apparently at its dregs and she kept trying to make some more polish come out, but I think it was pretty much DONE. take it off the shelf already!!! My nails came out thick and clumpy and 3 hours later when I showered, guess what? They were messed up! Really sucked a lot.
The salon has 5 manicure stations and 5 pedicure stations. They are also an OPI approved retailer, but they don’t have a lot of colors for sale, just FYI. If you and 3 of your beach bum girlfriends decide on a whim to get your nails done and you are in the Kailua area, I would recommend it. It’s not your best, but it’s not your worst either.
The nails techs are friendly and a big plus was, they did not speak in a different language to each other while we were there!!! yessss!
