Allure hair studios & day spa is the realization of a dream. Swiss born owner, Maja Whitesell, has worked her entire life in the beauty industry. She attended the college of modern Art and Fashion in Zurich as well as the Vidal Sassoon school in London. She did her apprentice work at the prestigious Reolon Salon in Zurich and after finishing she got her masters in beauty business and education from the Robert Emi Beauty School. After arriving in the Islands in 1995 to learn windsurfing, she fell in love whit the people and the natural beauty of Hawaii. In 1997, she closed her successful salon in Switzerland and moved her for good. While working at some of the top salons in Honolulu, she always dreamed of opening her own spa. Allure Hair Studio is the realization of a dream.

Maja is AMAZING. I wish I could give this 10 stars!!! She rescued my hair from what a different stylist did. It was previously bleached, but Maja fixed it and my hair is so beautiful. She is amazing to talk to, incredibly nice, and really understands what you want, knows what is best for your hair, and thinks of what the color would look like for your skin tone, natural hair color, and she is just so thoughtful. She is also reasonably priced! Thank you Maja!!!

Maya is wonderful. She listens to your wants and needs but also offers her input. She isn’t pushy with product or upselling and creates a warm welcoming environment. Love that she uses Kerastase too!

I just got to the island and went to Allure… Such an amazing experience. She is so nice and personable. It is pricey but you get what you pay for!!! She massages your head and lather rinses and repeats. And is the sweetest lady. Ahhh I can’t wait to go back!!!

I just recently moved to Kailua and desperately needed to color my hair. Maya, owner of Allure Hair Studio, was recommended by a friend and I’m so glad she was. Maya totally took the time to listen and find out what I wanted. Then she whipped up the most perfect color ever! While I sat with the color on my head, I enjoyed an extra special touch — a lovely hand and arm massage by Maya. All the products she used smelled divine. The salon is absolutely charming and chic and is right on Oneawa Street with plenty of municipal parking right behind it. I’ll be coming back in a few weeks for a haircut. My experience was everything a salon experience should be — relaxing, happy and loving the way my hair looked!
