Boulder Lodge

We stayed here three nights and had a wonderful time. I loved the charming old décor of our room. It was pretty crowded while we were here. I guess there was some beer thing or something in town, but it wasn’t loud or crazy here. The room was clean and comfortable and even had an outdoor patio for our fishing gear. Water pressure in the shower was great and water temperature was just fine. Sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable. Only downside to the room was the number of outlets in the main room. This was manageable and actually expected at an older property. Wifi in our room was non existent. It was fair if I sat outside my front porch. Pool was nice and clean along with a huge jacuzzi. I suck at making room coffee so it was nice they had a coffee pot in the lobby along with a tv and excellent wifi. Rates were excellent and the employees were very helpful. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place or to stay here again.

I stayed here for 3 nights on my first trip to June Lake. The room was nice, spacious and very clean. The room had a large area for suitcases and hiking gear and two sinks. The towels were soft and clean and good toiletries. The price, in my opinion, was fantastic. I don’t mind paying for a great room. I had a lake view and it was a beautiful view. I just wish there were two queens instead of one queen and a twin. I slept on the twin because it was as soft as a cloud. The queen was firmer. The WiFi was terrible and that was a big part in loosing the 5 star rating. But to be fair, wifi and phone service in the entire area is bad. Anyways, the indoor pool was great and the hot tub was amazingly big. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful in finding good breakfast spots and stores. I would stay here again and recommend it.

Spent 3 nights here. Decent price for just driving in after we found out we forgot our tent for camping at Oh Ridge! 4 minutes to camp ground for meals & joking with friends. Lodge was accommodating, indoor pool, cleaned room every day. I’d stay again

This is a real nice place. Right next to the lake. Rooms are old but clean. The staff is super nice. The rooms that we get have a nice kitchenette with all the fixings. If you are there for fishing, there are perfect areas right out the back to drop a line. Sunsets out the back of the lodge are beautiful

Another great stay at the lodge. Rooms are older bit can’t expect much from the Sierras. Great fishing always off there shoreline. Staff is always nice. Always stay here when we come to the loop.

I love coming to June Lake and staying at Boulder Lodge! All the comforts of home with beautiful scerery all around. The staff is very friendly, helpful and make you feel like Family. The Lodge has been around since the 60’s and is an absolute gem. If you can’t relax here, your can’t relax anywhere!

Perfect weekend getaway! We were offered a great deal when I called to inquire about rates (hurray shoulder season!), so we landed a lake view room (#204) for $ 99/​night and a reduced rate for bringing our fur-​baby (regularly $ 75/​stay). Our 1-​BR ground-​floor accommodations with full kitchen were perfect for us. The bed was comfortable and the room was toasty. We had our morning coffee on our private balcony right over June Lake. The slight negatives are that we found the kitchenware was not returned to the cupboards entirely cleaned (guests are responsible for cleaning their own dishes, but some guests are not as good at this task as others), and our bathroom door would not close all the way. These were minute problems for us, however, and would not give us pause in the least in considering returning in the future. The staff was all incredibly pleasant and accommodating, we felt very comfortable, and we were a short drive to nearby sights (Mono Lake, Bodie, etc) and hiking. We did not make use of the pool (which was closed during our stay) or the spa or sauna (which were open). More reason to return.

My wife had never been in the Eastern Sierras, and I decided to go to June Lake as a central location. I found Boulder Lodge offering the «Sweet Deal», and they weren’t lying! For a $ 175 per person, we each the room for two nights, two days of boat rental on the lake, 4 dinners at Sierra Inn, and $ 40 in gift certificates to Ernie’s Bait and Tackle. It was a great deal and we had a great time!
The service at the hotel was great. The only issue was trying to get through on the phone. The line was busy, so I just kept redialing. But, once I got through, I was connected to Jonie, who was so friendly and helpful. I got my reservations and we went up. We met Jonie, and she was extremely helpful and did a great job.
The room was a king bed and was cool. Vintage is a good way to describe it, but it fit the whole ambiance of the area. The bed was comfortable, the room was very clean, the bathroom was nice. The TV is an old style one, but we were out and about most of the time, so it didn’t really matter. The view from the room was the lake and it was beautiful.
The hotel is located very close to town, and all of the places that makes the Eastern Sierras great. One hour from Bishop, 15 minutes from Mammoth, 30 minutes to Convict Lake, 15 minutes to Tioga Pass and Mono Lake. We definitely will be coming back.

The few cons are that it was a bit of a pain to have to call in to make reservations, but well worth it. Their website leaves much to be desired, as well; it was not very informational. They do not have a 24-​hour front desk, so if you will be arriving later, make sure that you call to learn how to get your key. Lastly, there was not very much counter space for opening suitcases or preparing meals in the room.
The many pros include a friendly staff. There was a floor fan in the room, which was appreciated and used. We wanted a room with a king bed, but it didn’t have a fridge, so we ended up with 2 doubles. No big deal. It was a spacious room with a fridge, microwave, TV, «closet» (open area with a top shelf and space to hang clothes), a table with two chairs, a third chair in a corner, and a clock.
The view was absolutely spectacular. The lodge is motel-​style, with all doors along the outside corridors. We opened our front door to a tree-​lined lake with a mountain behind it, reflecting on the water. Breathtaking.
The lobby is decked out with animal heads around the ceiling. There is a patio out front with a couple of tables and chairs, as well as a couple of gas grills. There is an indoor pool and spa. There is wifi in the lobby only. Pricing was pretty good. It was about $ 120 per night. I looked into getting a one-​bedroom cabin, but was told by the staff that it is smaller than the lake view room that we reserved (and it was $ 20 more per night), so we decided against it.
It was centrally located to what we wanted to do. It took us about 15 minutes to get to Mono Lake, 45 to Bodie Ghost Town, and 20 – 30 minutes to get to the Mammoth area. I would definitely go back if I return to the area.

I absolutely love June Lake. We stayed at this lodge this past weekend and we were pleasantly surprised. For starters, we did some research on what rooms to stay in and by far the best are the rooms with a view of the lake, preferable the rooms 300 and above. We were in 308 and it was awesome, there was both a queen sized bed and a twin. It was absolutely divine to sit out on the balcony overlooking the lake after a long day of activities. If I would have stayed in the rooms overlooking the parking lot or without view I probably would not have been as happy. Our room cost $ 120 before the AAA discount which dropped it to $ 110 a night.
The rooms are 70’s décor, but a good size and clean. There is a pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Keep in mind there is no wifi. You are also walking distance to the quaint town of June Lake, be sure to check out the Tiger bar and the Trout Town Joe’s for coffee.
I also highly recommend doing the June Lake loop and stopping by Silver Lake Resort for breakfast.
Next time we come back we will absolutely stay here in the same room if possible.

The view was incredible but water access was not plus the cabin’s bathroom was disgusting. We all wore our flip flops when showering because the shower was full of mold and the tiles were falling apart.

Boulder Lodge was an OK place to stay for a night. It has some good views of the lake. The property is showing its age and needs some maintenance. There were no toiletries in the bathroom except soap – no shampoo or hand lotion.
The hotel advertises internet access, but if you are too far from the office, the wifi doesn’t reach to your room which is what happened to me. I sat in the office in a very comfortable chair the night we arrived and I went there for access the next morning.
The staff was very friendly especially when the bus arrived and disgorged 40 people all wanting room keys 2 hours before. They brought some men out to carry bags for anyone who needed.

Owned and operated by the kindest people in the world. My girlfriend and I booked a room for 4 days well in advance of our vacation and were sadly disappointed to discover that by the time we checked in (in mid December) the snow had still not come. We stayed the first night (good room, well-​heated, with a great lakeside view), but decided to cut our stay short, leaving the following evening for Mount Hood in Oregon for a full week of snowboarding. I expected we would have to pay the full price of the 4 nights we reserved, and was just hoping we could get at least a night taken off. Instead, they went further and took two nights off and only charged us for the two days we occupied the room. The owners were super nice and charming and I very much look forward to staying at Boulder Lodge next winter when, hopefully, there will be plenty of fresh snow.

I stayed here once when June Lake Pines was all booked one winter weekend and I’m glad I stayed here. Its a very simple and casual place to stay. I had the bottom floor looking away from the highway, which was a cool spot. The rooms are your basic type with microwave, tv, mini fridge, and coffee maker. Don’t expect high end or fancy stuff when staying here. Its a good place to sleep, shower, and keep your belongings when your checking out June Mountain.

The staff are great but this motel is really getting dilapidated and needs a lot of maintenance; wallpaper coming off living room wall, window screen frame broken and falling apart (same as last year), can hardly move sliding door; track damaged and bearing worn out, no counter space in small kitchen, no internet (only a small wireless router in the office that only reaches a couple adjacent rooms, etc. These rooms should all be well under $ 100…better deals to be found in the area… too bad.

I was a bit nervous about our stay here since we usually stay in newer condos when we go skiing in June, and I’ve found that in this area, you get what you pay for. Happily we were pleasantly surprised with our visit to the Boulder Lodge.
The family owners are extremely friendly and aim to please. Our room was warm, with the heating system working both efficiently and quietly. True, the décor and construction are dated but I love the vintage metal kitchen cabinets and everything was spotlessly clean. Dollar to dollar comparison with our regular place, for a two-​bedroom (one family) the Boulder Lodge wins hands down. Make sure you get a lake-​view room because it really is a beautiful spot and the alternative is the parking lot or highway.
The pool was warm enough for the kids (yay!) and the hot tub was more than hot enough for us old folks. Double-​win there. Plenty of open property for the kids’ snowball fights and some sledding (not sure how they have the energy after a day of skiing, however) and the pool table + arcade game (s) were a happy source of entertainment for the kids too.
Final bonus — the lodge has a deal with JMSki and got us some discount lift tickets cheaper than Costco! Icing on the cake.

I stayed at Boulder Lodge three nights while on an Eastern Sierra trip with Nature Outings. No luxury, just a place to stay, «rustic» is what some people said. We were there for fall color. They have a hot tub and swimming pool. The room TV works.
The staff was amazingly responsive, especially Joanie. My first room had a lake view (103) but it was chilly down there and the room heater was broken. So they switched me upstairs to a big room (211-​C) which also had several things wrong but they fixed them right away.
You could see the lake from 211-​C but you had to work at it. Location is great, the south end of June Lake village, just a couple of miles from June Mountain if you care about skiing, which I don’t.

After one night too many in a tent we broke down and started looking for a hotel with a room under $ 100. Boulder Lodge had a older cabin they gave us for $ 85 on a Saturday night.
They have great expensive rooms with world class mountain lake views there. But we wanted inexpensive/​rustic. We got it. =) The cabin was a bit run down, so not a good choice for citified folk, but for the price we were happy. The staff were friendly. There is a free pool table in the lobby too!
Free wifi in the office, coffee in the morning, swimming pool & spa, right outside June Lake, so you can walk into town. Great views. Popular hotel.

I frequent June Mountain often but stayed there for the first time this past weekend (12÷18−12÷20÷09). The place is cozy and was roomier then I expected which is refreshing compared to chain motels I’m use to in Mammoth. The décor is pretty old school but who cares when the heater works, the lake view is gorgeous, and the staff is friendly. Oh, they have a few beautiful dogs that are so friendly to visitors. The indoor jacuzzi and pool was AWESOME. There’s nothing like a hard day of carving on the mountains then a dip in the hot tub. I plan to stay here every time I’m snowboarding with my friends at June Mountain.
