June Lake Motel

Love this place, me and my girlfriend jill just started coming here just this year but the owners lisa and grant treat us like we’ve been coming here our whole lives. They really make you feel at home and are more than welcome to accommodate for our dog in one of there dog friendly rooms. And the rooms are a good size with comfy beds. Also it is a 3 minute drive to the slopes. pretty hard to beat. Thanks for treating us so well!

Cozy! We needed another bed for another person and they provided a cot for us! So accommodating and staff is very friendly. Will come back here again most definitely.

The rooms are large, clean, and everything is well kept. All of the staff was extremely attentive and helpful with all of our needs. Free wifi that’s fast and easy to access.
Have been camping in the June Lake area for twenty years now and this was the first time not tent camping. Due to it being so late in the fishing season as well as the recent snowy conditions we decided to find something a little warmer. It was a last minute decision and the search for reservations started two days before the vacations departure. Lisa called us back quickly making the reservation process easy and painless. Upon arrival we were given the opportunity to switch to first floor rooms which was nice.
Once in our rooms I was extremely impressed with how clean they were. I have rented expensive cabins in various mountain towns that weren’t as well maintained. Each room included a little kitchen area with a full size fridge. The heaters also worked well in both rooms. It seemed like each time we were leaving or coming from fishing Lisa was around with one of her dogs available to answer questions about places to eat.
Another nice bonus is that the June Lake Brewery can be accessed by a little stairway right behind the motel, less than a five minute walk. Great beer and a nice little spot to unwind.
Overall an awesome experience I would recommend this location for one nighters passing through as well as to people taking multi-​day vacations in the area.

Great spot. Friendly and helpful upon check-​in. Clean and very well equipped and comfortable. Close to everything. Reasonably priced. Great WIFI. Highly recommend this motel as well as the Ohanas for a great lunch or dinner treat.

The owner is absolutely 100% trying to protect himself and his business… since my husband and I go to bed around 7 and started calling this «owner» at about 4:00 p.m. didn’t realize for a business man/​women 4 p.m. would be valued as late and had my husband known this was the case he would have felt just awful for you… I being the woman you’re speaking of, NEVER EVER ONCE SPOKE TO YOU… and I definitely wouldn’t be yelling at anyone. There are too many other beautiful places to stay in June lake. After by the uh «hotel» it was a blessing in disguise to have stayed elsewhere … have some respect and just own the fact that YOU handled that badly. We asked several locals how they felt about your hotel. Needless to say they didn’t have kinds words…

This was our first time visiting June Lake and we were very fortunate to stay at June Lake. Motel. The room we stayed in was very spacious, very comfortable beds, a good sized bathroom and kitchen supplied with everything you need to enjoy dinning in. The rooms are exceptionally organized and clean, the décor mimics the beautiful surrounds of the lake and mountain views, we felt as if we were staying in our own individual cabin. June Lake Motel is centrally located to a stores, restaurants and Mammoth is just 20 mins away. Last but not least, the owners are extremely warm, friendly and helpful.

Large, comfortable room (Room 118 in the corner) with a good well-​stocked kitchen, facilities to do laundry, clean fish, grill. Really friendly people all the way around. Quiet. Clean. Large notebook with tons of maps, suggestions, hikes, highlights, and much more… just tons of great info. Have I left anything out? It’s a great place to stay, very centrally located, walking distance to everything, including Gull Lake and June Lake, bars, restaurants, gift shops, a market, marinas, and more, but again, nice and quiet.

All around amazing. This place is exactly what we were looking for! Very helpful and friendly staff, clean, comfortable, convenient to yosemite. We loved this motel!

I have stayed in this motel 3 times, first time was about 3 – 4 years ago and twice this year since the ownership changed. It is a great location, large rooms with complete kitchen and dinning facilities, super clean and very organized. This place is a gem that has not been discovered yet (maybe I should delete this review? lol) plenty of parking, lots of fresh towels and new furniture, everything has been remodeled and there is a new brewery just below with great beer literally within 50 steps… Also Ohana 395 truck cooks delicious Hawaiian food in the same parking area as the brewery. Highly recommend this place. Grant and Lisa are the new owners and they really care about customer satisfaction. at sunset guests gather by the BBQ stations and discuss their best fishing tales… during my last visit one guest was playing his guitar too. Really nice place. Can’t wait to go back.

Having fun in June Lake, our room is just fine. Really enjoy the kitchen, makes our stay much easier with a 3 ½ year old grand daughter.

I’ve always camped at Silver Lake, but we came up for a spontaneous weekend and decided to stay here because it was fairly inexpensive. Gotta say we were pleasantly surprised. The room was very large (room 118 with a kitchen) and very clean. A little noisy from the brewery directly outside this corner room, but they close up early and the first night I was sound asleep by 8pm. I don’t stay in motels often, but I would totally stay here again. The management was very nice also! I have nothing but good things to say about all of them.

Yosemite was my last stop on a cross country trip. I got in to Lee Vining too late (1030pm) and all the motels were full. I called June Lake motel which was only about 15 minutes away and they said they had one room left. The owner was nice enough to keep the office open so I could get in. The room was delightful. Don’t let the word «motel» fool you, this is a small apartment, with two big beds, bathroom and kitchen. The beds are so comfortable, it was the best nights sleep I had in weeks. After one night I started thinking of weekend getaways that I could plan to stay here again. Great friendly owners and a wonderful space to stay.

My girlfriend and I stayed her last Saturday night. While checking in, I was informed by a temporary employee that he made a mistake with the initial charge on my debit card. He said that he refunded me and needed to re-​run my debit card. I pulled out my iPhone and showed that the charge went through correct and he did not need to re-​run my debit card. He insisted even after I called chase bank and confirmed the charge was correct. Since it was a Saturday, I said fine and if there are any issues like pending charges/​refunds they may go through by Monday. On Monday, the owner came back into town and re-​ran my card. They basically charged me twice and never refunded a thing. I waited until today, a full week after the initial charge, and I was never refunded. So I called the owner, Grant. He told me I was wrong and that he was right. He then sent me a print out of the charges. The charges showed that I was correct. He still would not refund me so I called Chase and disputed the claim.
The rooms are nice and were very clean but MANAGEMENT is a joke. I will never stay here again unless the ownership changes.

Very nice. Spacious, clean, comfortable room. Nice location «downtown». Reasonable rates. I will stay here again if I’m in the June Lake area.

We stayed here for a getaway weekend and could not have been more impressed. After a long day of fishing, the owners were kind enough to provide us with dishes and silverware to use while grilling our catch on their patio. They’re so nice and won’t hesitate to make sure that your stay is as nice as it can be. The amenities were awesome and the location — walking distance to everything — couldn’t have been more perfect. This place is a solid gem and under new ownership as of 2015. For value and quality, it doesn’t get much better. Find your way to June Lake Motel!

What an amazing room… very spacious and clean. It had all the conveniences of an apartment… a kitchen, table, sofas and desk area. We had to end our stay due to an unexpected visit to the emergency room! They were more than accommodating. In our rush to leave we left a few items and were so thrilled that on another visit back to this area our items were awaiting us at the front desk.

Haven’t been there for over 20 years, but the rooms were clean and seem to have been remodeled. I will go back. The kitchenette was well complimented with accoutrements for meal prep.

My family and I stayed at the June Lake Motel this summer and had an excellent stay. We rented two rooms, one with a kitchen so that we could make our own meals. The kitchen was fully accommodating with pots, pans, and real dishes!!! This allowed us to make wonderful meals that we could sit out on the common areas that provided tables, chairs, and barbecues. We were able to visit and play games, truly affording us the chance to grow closer and most of all relax. The motel is located equidistant (about a block) from Gull Lake and June Lake so that we could easily walk down to the lakes for fishing and sightseeing. The staff is friendly and willing to make your stay a positive experience.

I’ve stayed in a few places around the area, including Lee Vining and June Lake — and this is my absolute favorite. In fact, I just spent my Christmas there. It has the feel of a cabin but the convenience of a hotel room. The owner has put in a lot of her own touches into the rooms, including the green washed wood walls in the kitchen units which have a very cozy rustic feel. When I say «rustic» I don’t mean unclean, the motel is very clean. The shower head is a bit low for a taller person (I’m 6’1″) but stall itself is spacious.
You get the basics: maid service daily, the rooms are prepared when you arrive (warm and lights on), they leave the keys out for you if you arrive late in the night, checkout is flexible if you make sure to talk to the owner at the front desk first. The kitchen is fully equipped, I and my wife have never had any trouble cooking there, even for extended periods of time. They do expect you to wash your own dishes when you checkout but it’s a small business and the room prices are very economical, so I don’t really mind it. Whenever I’ve had any problems at all, the owner and her staff have been extremely friendly and prompt to fix the problem.
It’s a nice peaceful place to come back to after adventuring out in the surrounding outdoors and it has wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. It’s also in a great location: you can walk over to the Tiger Bar/​Restaurant, June Lake Inn Restaurant, convenience store, and other small shops in the «center» of June Lake. Also, Mammoth Lakes is only a short drive away, so if you need to do shopping like Vons for groceries or sporting goods stores for gear, it’s not a problem. Mammoth Lakes also has a large variety of restaurants but I’ve always been good with eating at the Tiger and having the convenience of walking back to the room after a couple of drinks.
It’s great for hikers and skiers/​snowboarders and is very reasonably priced. I’ll continue to come back whenever I need to get away from LA.

June Lake was not really on our road trip itinerary but we ended up there after getting to Lee Vining on a Sunday night and finding no vacancy. One of the motels in Lee Vining gave us a list of places in June Lake so we started calling around beginning with the cheapest first. This place was among the cheapest and since we were really only planning on being there a few hours we bit. (Plan was to get up super-​early and drive up Tioga Pass into Yosemite to secure a campsite for the following night.)
What a nice surprise. We had never been off of 395 into June Lake before. It seems like a nice quiet little lake town. We no sooner got into town (and it was dark out to boot) that I already knew I wanted to go back and stay longer.
This is an older motel and luxurious it is definitely not — however if you are looking for a nice simple retreat up to the lake then this is your kind of place. Our room had one queen and two twin beds and a full kitchen. It was clean and spacious (however the shower stall was a little cramped.) They do expect you to wash your own dishes before you leave. Wi-​fi was free.
