This review is long overdue. Rob Sheets, Your Electrician is the BEST. If you need an electrician call him, you’ll be glad you did. Over the past two years Rob has installed an electrical service panel, replaced nearly every switch and outlet in our old house, and recently installed LED can lights, and dimmers, in nearly every room in our house. Your Electrician was one of the first Unilocal electricians to respond back to my quote requests on Unilocal,and was very knowledgeable and thorough in initial explanation. His service price was very fair, and he did a great job for what I needed.
Which was: installation of a NEMA 14 – 50 outlet in the garage. Slightly more complicated than the typical install as my panel is far from the garage. Rob came out and was thorough in inspection and explanation for what the work would entail. He also was able to schedule the work not too far away from the initial quote. Install came and went without a hitch, and the work he did looks great. Also was able to schedule and come out for the inspection afterwards no problem.
I highly recommend Rob for any electrical work you may need. I perused his work website, and I agree with his work ethic, and he seems like a really nice guy to boot.

I called Rob and he was nearby and came over quickly. We had a circuit that was showing low or no voltage and I was baffled. He found the issue at an outlet and fixed it quickly. Back in December when we needed to install a new ceiling fan/​light in our rental property, I Unilocaled and found Rob. Scheduling the appointment was easy as Rob had an opening the very next day and was able to fit us in. My husband met him at the property and he arrived on time and was extremely professional. We were very pleased with his work.
Fast forward to March, three months after the initial install, my tenants moved out and upon inspection of the property, I found that the ceiling fan was wobbling quite a bit when turned on at the high speed. I called Rob, left him a message and informed him of the problem. He called me back promptly a few hours later and we scheduled an appointment a couple of days later for him to come out and take a look. Rob called me prior to arrival and since the property was vacant, I asked him to let himself in because something came up and I was unable to meet him at the property. He called me back about an hour later and let me know that he re-​positioned a box in the ceiling and now the fan is no longer wobbling.
I am extremely pleased with the service Rob provided and very impressed with his professionalism! He stands by his work. Three months after the initial install of the fan, he came out without hesitation when I noticed a problem. He is definitely my go-​to electrician from now on!

Rob was great from the beginning to the end. Very reasonably priced. He even didn’t get upset when I got our initial appointment mixed up and wasn’t home when he showed up. :-) Very nice guy and excellent service. Definitely recommend him for any of your needs. He installed 2 NEST learning thermostats for me.

Rob showed up early and explained the problem and the solution. I could ask as many questions as I wanted and he didn’t seem to mind at all. The work was completed quickly and the cost was minimal.

Rob did a great job and was efficient. The price wasn’t cheap, I’ve had cheaper estimates but it was reasonable due to his efficiency and quality of work. Had him install new outlet and sensor switches and overall happy with the work he did. I would consider using him again.

Rob is friendly, happy to answer questions and explain what he is doing. Unfortunately other than this aspect I was generally disappointed with the service. One of the circuit breakers in my panel had a bad connection. He pulled out the breaker and showed me the carbon deposits on the metal contact. He explained that it was just a poor connection between that contact and the bus bar that was causing the problem. He replaced the breaker with a new one. It worked for a few days but then the same problem returned. I called out a different electrician and it was identified that the bus bar behind the breaker was contributing to the poor connection. Something that probably could have been diagnosed the first time… I had an empty slot so they put 2 new breakers at that location and it’s been working great since. The cost of the 2 new breakers was $ 30, the cost that Rob charged me for one was $ 63. I had questioned him on the $ 63, and he declined to show me the store receipt (he went to Lowe’s to purchase it during the service). There were other reasons that I was disappointed with the service, but I’ll leave those out since they’re more subjective.

We’ve had the pleasure working with Rob on several interior design projects. He is technically savvy, always prompt and is a problem solver. He has helped us with a home theatre, bathrooms and bedroom lighting — always very diligent and with high standards of his work. We certainly recommend him. My wife and I recently purchased a 50+ year old home. The home inspector we hired pointed out that the house had some pretty extensive electrical issues that needed to be evaluated and fixed in order for the home to be safe for our family. Rob was the second electrician we brought out to provide a bid on bringing the house up to code. However, we knew right away that Rob was the right electrician for us. He was well-​spoken, listened really well, and provided a very fair quote for his services.
Rob ended up working at our house for the better part of almost 2 ½ weeks. During that time, Rob upgraded our old electrical panel, grounded all of the outlets throughout the house, installed can lights, repaired lighting fixtures, and rewired a garage that had no electricity. It was a pretty major job and he spent a lot of time working in crawl spaces and a hot attic. He also coordinated inspections with the city and found and made arrangements to have a stucco repair person finish some of the work we were doing.
I can’t say enough positive things about Rob. He was very diligent and positive in his approach to the work. He communicated very well with us (we were in Hawaii for one of the weeks he was working on the house). and his quality of work was outstanding. Lastly, Rob is definitely someone you can trust.
If you are looking for a solid electrician that does great work, is trustworthy and that has very high customer service standards… you can’t go wrong selecting Rob. I highly recommend him.

Rob was great! He came and did thermal imaging for me and was very knowledgable, professional, helpful, and prompt. It was a terrific experience and I would definitely use him again in the future for any electrical needs!

Another great job done! Rob figured out how to fix a rare vintage lamp without replacing original parts, installed two wall sconces and solved the mystery of the finicky outdoors outlets. Rob was great! I had a very tight timeframe to have electrical work completed before some stucco repair was scheduled, and Rob was able to come in and get it all done. He was very warm, explained everything well, and did great work. I will definitely use him again and would recommend him without hesitation.

A further update:
I have called Rob out about 4 (maybe 5? I forget!) times so far because I keep finding stuff I‘ve missed, or my Destroy-​It-​Yourself husband merrily chips away at our electrical system and I have no idea what he‘s done until I plus something in to somewhere that I swear worked a month ago but no longer does…
So I called Rob out AGAIN last week when I discovered my outdoor outlet wasn‘t working and I was doing some emergency fountain-​planning.
Rob was here within an hour, spent 2 hours testing, analysing, fixing, checking and cleaning up, fixed a new outdoor outlet up for me, and then blew me across the room (in the non-​shock sense) when he only charged me less than $ 100 for all the work, claiming that he was slower than normal as his hand hurt and he was on his way home anyway. I don‘t know if that‘s true, but I KNOW for a fact that any other electrician would have charged me much much more than he did, so I can add that to my previous review that not only is he extremely professional but he is an extremely NICE person too, not intent on ripping anyone off and that is a rarity today that deserves comment.
There will always be one person with whom there is a personality clash or something goes wrong. Unfortunately you can‘t please everyone all the time. But all the other 5 star reviews can‘t be wrong. When I see someone with a bunch of 5 star reviews and a couple of bad ones it just says to me that these reviews are all genuine. I‘m more suspicious of someone who ONLY has 5 star reviews!

I am in the middle of a horrible experience dealing with the owner of this business, Rob. I will update you all as soon as we go to court. If I was you then I would think twice about dealing with this company because in my opinion Rob is not a professional.
As a general rule, I always try to be present to supervise when workers are doing something in my home. I take some of the blame because I was not able to be present when he arrived to do the work. This is a huge mistake so just don’t do it. However, my spanish speaking mother in law was present so I thought, based on previous Unilocal reviews, that everything would work out.
I had a basic electrical problem in my kitchen for which I expected to pay about $ 150-​$ 200. Here is a quote from the original invoice that Rob left for me under description of work he performed: «Troubleshoot kitchen circuits– found tripped breaker, tripped GFCI. Caused by Ballast for undercabinet lights going bad (short internal). Found two bad bulbs. Repaired all. Replaced bulb in downstairs shower. Replaced bulb and starter in upstairs bathrooms.»
It should have taken at most 90 minutes to fix. Instead this guy charged me 2.25 hours at $ 70 an hour! The thing that really is upsetting is that my mother in law swears that he was not actually working in our house for 2.25 hours. She thinks that he was only here for about 75 minutes. My ten year old son said the same thing.
In addition to his labor charges, Rob charged me a $ 70 service fee as well! We never agreed on that but it just showed up on the bill. He also charged me obviously exaggerated prices for lights bulbs and Flood lamps. When I asked him for receipts, he refused to provide them. The Grand total came to $ 227.50!
Both my wife and I tried to contact him on several occasions in order to pay the bill and question him about his invoice. When I finally did get a response, he threatened me that he was going to call his attorney and put a mechanic’s lien on our house!
Eventually we just decided to cut our losses and pay it. Now we have received a new «revised» bill from this guy. Rob says he made a mistake on his own invoice. He says that instead of $ 227.50, we actually owe him $ 383.13! When I closely examined his new improved invoice, this guy added an extra hour of labor trying to «collect on the account.»
I never signed a contract with this guy and I paid him his outrageous $ 227.50. Rob just sent me an email that he is under the belief that the law is on his side and he again threatened me with filing a mechanic’s lien on our house.
Just make sure that you use caution when dealing with this guy.

Reasons why he is awesome:
— Didn’t change extra to come out on a Sunday
— Explained how my circuit panel worked
— Told me the problem was really with my AC unit
— Didn’t charge me for the 20– 30 min consult
I appreciate his honesty and I would call him again!

Thanks to Unilocal reviewers, we found Your Electrician, Rob Sheets, and are very happy to say he and his assistant, Miles, are wonderful. I would have to agree with other reviewers about Rob’s professional manner: he is on time, completes the projects quickly, and leaves the area spotless.
It was a pleasure to have him and Miles in our home for 2 days. What started as simply a new electrical socket turned into new light fixtures, GFI’s, dimmers, and heat/​fan/​lights for the bathrooms. His estimate was right on and his itemized bill at the end was easy to follow. It is nice dealing directly with the proprietor as there are no surprises. We found his prices to be reasonable and in line with other estimates we received.
Rob is very easy going and always willing to explain if you have questions. It is obvious that he knows what he is doing and takes pride in his work and profession. Everything was perfect when he left.
We plan to use Your Electrician when we update our electrical panel in the not too distant future.

Rob is very professional. He returned my phone calls within minutes, it was easy to set up appointment for urgent work. Final price matched estimate given over the phone and he informed us about all the options that we have. He fixed a number of outlets indoor/​outdoors. We will definitely use Rob for our future projects.
I recommended him to our in-​laws and they loved him too. He installed couple of outdoor light fixtures plus helped them fix their issues with their front door light. Rob is a very nice easy-​going guy who is willing to spend his time to explain everything to you if you ask question and I do ask lots of questions usually =). He takes his time to do good job. He is punctual and easy to communicate with. He responds to email promptly. He installed EV charger in my garage and did some re-​routing work for my laundry connection. I requested him back for some investigation work that seems to be related to the first job but it ended up not related at all, it’s just a problem with my microwave’s circuitary and he is willing to come out FOC! Spent about 40 mins to go through and tests the connection to the breaker etc.
All in all I’d definitely recommend Rob.

Rob has fixed 1 bad ceiling fan and re-​installed that same fan to our new home. In the middle of it all we had to leave Rob in our new place all alone… NOT A PROBLEM — Rob is dependable, flexible/​easy going, honest and trust-​worthy. I would refer Rob TO EVERYONE who needs electrical help.

My sister called me immediately after Rob Sheets (Your Electrician) came over to fix her stuck circuit breaker. She was absolutely thrilled with the services he provided and could not be any happier with his professionalism, knowledge, prompt response and reasonable pricing.
She lives in an older condo that has a poor electrical design where multiple appliances are on a single breaker. This causes the breaker to trip quite frequently, where eventually it needed to be replaced. Rob was at my sisters house within 30 minutes of her phone call. He checked her main panel and immediately determined the problem. He went to the store, came back and installed a new circuit breaker. She then went on to tell him about some other electrical issues she had. He took the extra time to explain how electricity works (Electricity 101, if you will) and gave her multiple options for resolving her issues. The options ranged from a quick, low end solution to a more complex, long term solution. She really appreciated the extra time he spent with her to review all of her options.
My sister will definitely be calling «Your Electrician» back for additional electrical work in the near future. I am writing this on behalf of my sister since she isn’t all that computer savy but wanted to be sure to give Rob credit for his excellent services.

I’ve had my own interior design business for 6 years and have been bouncing around from electrician to electrician, but now that I’ve found Rob I will definitely be using him on all of my projects for clients or my own home.
Rob is flexible, easy going, and accommodating. He’s reliable and easy to get in contact with. He returns calls promptly and text messages back right away. He keeps appointments and shows up on time.
