We started this business because orthodontics is such an amazing tool to help people gain self confidence and change peoples’ lives. We want to be available to serve you and your family’s needs. I am a dentist, an engineer, a scientist a designer and an artist. All meshed together that creates my specialty: orthodontics. My passion is serving people: my family, my friends, and my community. I served as a dentist in the United States Army and Army National Guard supporting our troops overseas and also at the Pentagon. As a father of five children I know how valuable loved ones are and how important it is that they are taken care of and that their future is in good hands. My patients are my family. My goal is to work my hardest to provide you and your family with a smile to be proud of. It is my pleasure to embrace you and your family with treatment you can trust at Simply Orthodontics.

Simply Orthodontics is FANTASTIC! Dr. Shung, Leena, Jessica and the whole staff are so friendly and make you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. I found them on Unilocal and am so happy I did. I was nervous about getting treatment as an adult but I really wanted to get my teeth straight again (lost my retainers back in high school and teeth started to move). Dr. Shung made it so so easy and time flew by! I highly recommend Simply Orthodontics to everyone that is thinking about braces or invisalign for themselves or their children. And I love how clean and modern the office is! Dr. Shung is the BEST!

I love this place! So like a lot of adults I didn’t wear my retainer and my teeth shifted when my wisdom teeth came in. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do braces but I figured why not see what I can do. I tried a couple orthodontist before but most the doctors just looked in my mouth real quick and said I needed braces again. I wasn’t that excited but then I found Simply Orthodontics! None of the other offices were as friendly and nice as Simply Orthodontics! They were very attentive and accommodating. The office is way more updated and modern than the other places I visited. They’re all actually really hip in the office, which I like. The dental assistant, Jessica, made great conversation with me while she prepped me for Dr. Shung … She was so sweet and engaging!
Dr. Shung was super nice and friendly as well. Both him and Min really wanted to know what my goals were and gave me options! I didn’t even know I could do Invisalign I thought it was so bad. But he said Invisalign was a great option for me! I was so excited he accommodated his schedule and started that day even though he was super busy. I’m looking forward to getting my aligners and getting started.
Oh BTW they were super flexible with financial options and worked with my budget. Thanks Simply Orthodontics! I can’t wait for my new and improved smile (:

This place is legit! I needed an orthodontist for my son who has an underbite and his dentist recommended that he see an orthodontist.
So I started doing research for the best in the area and this place popped up first on Unilocal.Not a big reviewer but have to write one for this place. The office is really sleek and modern — check out the pics, it’s not what I imagined an orthodontist’s office would look like. Kudos to the doctor and his staff! Everything in the process was seamless from start to my son beginning treatment. He loved Dr. Shung as he’s very personable and friendly. I guess the fact that he had five kids makes him pretty good with young ones.
Anyway…the reviews are all true! Great staff, great office, great doctor and it’s super convenient in Woodbury! Thanks for taking care of my family Simply Orthodontics! Btw they gave my son a Casey’s Cupcake after his appointment. How cool is that?! Highly recommended!

I recently brought my 8yo son in for a consultation. I had been told by other dentists that it was time for my son to get braces. Now usually my son freaks out the moment he steps in a dental office. However, this time around was completely different.
We were warmly greeted by the friendly receptionist (forgot her name). We were offered drinks/​snacks and even an ipad for my son to play with while we were waiting… which really helped relieve the anxiety he was feeling. When Dr. Shung walked out, he was extremely friendly and smiley. He spoke to my son in a calm soft manner and explained step by step everything he was going to do.
After our consultation/​xrays were over, we expected to get the pitch. Now this is where Dr Shung’s PROFESSIONALISM and HONESTY are on full display. Instead of scaring us and pushing us to get braces for our son (which we really thought he needed), Dr. Shung simply told us that it would be more prudent to wait maybe another 6 months to a year, and re-​evaluate. I was pretty surprised by his candor. If you saw my son’s teeth, anyone would say he needs braces asap. But Dr. Shung really put the well being of my son’s teeth ahead of any other factors that other orthodontists may have. We could have just walked away after our appointment, not come back and Dr. Shung would have lost a potential customer. But the fact that the priority of the patient is first and foremost in Dr. Shung’s mind, makes me a customer for life!
We have yet to go back but rest assured I will be bringing all my kids to his office when the time comes!!! Its hard to find doctors/​dentists that you can trust w/​o any hidden agendas but I can guarantee you Dr. Shung looks out for his patient first!

My kids loved this office! Great Orthodontist, Dr Shung. When the kids took mouth guard impressions, all they talked about was how tasty it was. Most people freak out when having this done and the office delivered treatment in non-​traumatic way. I’m so happy to find a family ortho practice close to home.

I’ve been dealing with sibilance in my speech ever since a skateboard accident several years ago, in ’06 or ’07 (try saying that with sibilance). Alas, the impact sent my front teeth back, creating a gap between my left central incisor and left lateral incisor (getting scientific now). I knew right away that orthodontic work was my only shot at getting my teeth back to their normal alignment, but I was too stubborn to go get the work done.
That is, until I found Simply Orthodontics. I worked up the courage to schedule an appointment with Dr. Shung and I truly could not have gotten luckier. From the warm welcome I received from Leena when I walked in the door to the carefully explained options for my treatment from Dr. Shung — things could not have gone more smoothly. The interior is very clean, modern, and well-​decorated and the people could not have been more friendly.
I walked in very tentatively, just wanting to ask a few questions and was blown away by the clarity of Dr. Shung’s response and the flexibility of the payment options Leena presented me with. I walked out having already been fitted for my first pair of Invisalign aligners and feeling much more confident about my future.
I’m a few weeks into my Invisalign treatment and am already noticing the positive results. Dr. Shung does exemplary work and it doesn’t hurt that we have the same birthday and are having the same struggles with our fantasy football teams. If you are looking for a 5 star orthodontist in or near Orange County, your search should end here.

I had searched for the best option for how to treat my dental issues for approximately two years. I’d spoken to a handful of dentists as well as a handful of orthodontists and actually found Dr Shung on Unilocal.
When I called to ask some questions, the doctor answered the phone himself and suggested I come in to consult. During my consultation, I was immediately drawn to the layout of the office. I was talked to by both Lena and Dr Shung who were able to answer my plethora of questions, assess me, and estimate my costs. It was fast and simple and I didnt feel pressured. I was also very happy about the reasonable cost of treatment, so happy with my consultation, I chose Dr Shung that day to begin treatment (trust me when I say i diligently did my research and he is the best).
Since treatment, I have had amazing results after only a couple of months. I have also recently had some issues with my insurance that Lena has spent hours of her time working to help me figure out.
I love this office, the best customer service, and great people. Trust that you wont want to go anywhere else, save the time, I did the research for you :) the reviews all speak for themselves.

I am young adult, my first time at Simply Orthodontics. I don’t feel scary anymore since the place was really nice it doesn’t seem like dentist place. Then I am not sure if I need to do this because my financial, and because I live 30 minutes away. However, after listening to Dr. Shung and his recommendation, I finally have confident decide to have my beautiful smile, and I don’t have to paid in full instead I can do monthly payment whatever the amount I comfortable to paid. Dr. Shung alway make me feel very welcome when I come to his place, his smile and musicians let my pain go away while he check up my teeths. I know I have make right choice and I trust Dr. Shung to be my doctor let me have my beautiful smile. Thank you so much Dr. Shung

Dr. Shung and Leena are really nice and welcoming to all the patients that come in to #BeEmbraced Their waiting area is awesome! They have complimentary healthy snacks and refreshments available and an iPad for entertainment! They also have Netflix for me to catch up on my favorite shows while I get my adjustments on my #clearbraces. Thanks Dr. Shung!

Since I was little I have need braces, my teeth were over crowed and I was embarrassed to smile.
I always procrastinated on going to the dentist and ortho because I didn’t like them. I don’t like shots, needles, the smell, the drilling, the thought of taking out teeth etc.
I found Dr. Shung and all I can say is that he is the BEST Ortho ever! I don’t have the fear anymore and I can truly say that I love my dentist but I also love my ORTHO!
Dr. Shung is a truly amazing Doctor. He is patient, caring, listens to my concerns and he takes the time to explain things.
My husband and I come here and we love it. We drive all the way out here to see Dr. Chung, we live in Mira Loma.
We will be bringing our kids here to see him soon.

I don’t write many reviews but this place deserves one! I brought my oldest son because my dentist said he should get checked out for braces. His teeth didn’t look that bad but I started my search for an Orthodontist! OMG this is harder than it sounds! Some orthodontists wanted to do an expander some wanted to do something he could take in and out. It was so confusing and I didnt know who to beieve. My freind recommended me to see Dr. Shung and so I did. They are located in Irvine and it was further than I would have liked but totally worth it.
They had an X-​ray machine there so I didn’t have to go anywhere else. He told me all the different treatments and why some recommend somethings andnsome don’t. In the end he told us that it was better to wait until all the permanent teeth came in before we start full treatment. He showed us what was going on and and assured us that it would be okay. Whew… that made me feel better.
It’s a clean office, I trust the doctor, the staff is so nice and everything was so smooth. My son really felt comfortable with Dr. Shung and that’s most important. So I will definitely be bringing my son back and my other kids! Thanks Simply Orthodontics!

I decided to go in for a consult and see Dr. Shung after a friend referred him to me. I had braces in my teens but my teeth has since shifted and was looking to get Invisalign.
Dr. Shung was very informative and thoroughly explained the entire process. He answered all my questions and definitely put me at ease. You can tell he really cares about his work and patients.
The office is also very nicely designed. It’s modern and CLEAN which is important.
I would highly recommend Dr. Shung to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy ortho.

Simply Orthodontics recently opened up and it’s very convenient for me in Irvine. I’m a young adult and had braces in my early teens. Slowly after time (and not wearing my retainers enough) my teeth shifted. I wish I listened to my parents when they «nagged» me to wear my retainers.
I decided that I wanted to do Invisalign, and I’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to have my teeth re-​adjusted. I went to several orthodontic offices to get several quotes and almost thought it would be too expensive for what I budgeted for. After seeing Dr. Shung, I found out that I was able to get it for a very reasonable price! After my consultation and after taking molds of my teeth, I now have all my Invisalign plates and ready to have straighter teeth again!
By the way, the office is really nice, clean, and I love their waiting area. It’s defintiely a great place for all ages. Thank you Dr. Shung!

Called last Friday for a consultation and they were able to set up an appointment for me on Monday which is amazing because the other ortho’s I called don’t have availability until 3rd week of the month or the next month. I moved here in OC from Vegas and he was able to match the outstanding balance and continue the treatment from my previous ortho. After the consultation, he adjusted my braces right then and there. He is very welcoming. I had a great experience. Definitely check him out. Not only does he have a really beautiful and modern dental office, but there’s free drinks and snacks too.

I was referred to Simply Orthodontics by a good friend because I needed a new night guard. I didn’t really expect much but when I walked in I was caught completely off guard… it was open concept, contemporary and did I mention all the LCD TVs?!! The waiting area was warm and comfortable. There was a mini fridge filled with free juice, soda and Perrier and even an iPad mini to use.
Dr. Shung was friendly, warm and surprisingly funny. He was very easy to talk to. I told him how I hated the process of obtaining a mold of my teeth… let’s just say I almost choked on the mold goo last time… and the time before that… and the time before that. Before I knew it, he was placing the mold goo into my mouth and I waited and nothing happened! It wasn’t a near death experience at all this time! Two days later I picked up my night guard and it fit like a glove… for my teeth.
This was hands down the best experience I’ve had at an ortho office. I’ve already made a second appointment to replace my old retainer.

Dr Shung is terrific!!!
My orthodontist wanted to charge me a very high rate for my lost retainers and Dr. Shung and his staff were reasonable with pricing! They got me in very quickly and turned around my retainers faster than my existing (and more expensive) orthodontist. He is very easy going, professional and thorough! He is honest about what your needs and delivers quality retainers.
His facility is modern, contemporary and very clean (with great music)!
I would HIGHLY recommend him. I must also mentioned that he has the highest credentials and ratings not only on Unilocal but on Anthem’s site for orthodontists!
