Updike Orthodontics

I highly recommend Dr. Sophia Updike, all three of my children have been going to her for years. She takes the time to explain in detail the stages your child will need to go through and why. Her office staff is also very organized and friendly. She has always been punctual and happy to help out busy moms, like myself, by taking care of all 3 of my children at the same time. I don’t know how she does it all but she definitely makes going to the orthodontist a positive experience for children and their parents as well.

I have never used Unilocal to look up any health services, but I found Dr. Updike on here and was a little unsure if this was the right website for orthodontic services. However, from the initial consultation to the final tray I received for my invisalign, the service and treatment were second to none. The staff in their office was kind and professional and I would recommend them to anybody I know.

I just finished my adult Invisalign treatment with Dr Updike and I couldn’t be happier! The staff is great, super friendly and accommodating. I especially appreciated the flexible appointment times-​I mostly went after 6pm due to work which was so convenient. Also, I hardly ever waited, was usually in and out of my regular appointments in 10 minutes. Originally my treatment was going to take 12 months, but we finished in 10 and my teeth look great!
I did a lot of research before deciding on Updike, their prices were better than all other orthodontists I went to and I loved going to my appointments just to visit with everyone in the office! Highly recommend!

Dr. Updike and her staff are nothing short of the BEST! They are all so friendly, every time. They see you very efficiently, as well. I don’t think I ever waited more than a minute or two. They know me by name and remember things about me and my life. Dr. Updike even gave me a gift for my baby due next month! How sweet is she?!
My teeth turned out so beautiful and she got the work done about 7 months before we anticipated the work to be done. Also, If I had an urgent matter come up, like a broken bracket, she was able to get me in right away. They are extremely flexible and accommodating.
I don’t have enough good things to say about Dr. Updike and her team. I interviewed 3 other orthodontists before I selected her and I am so happy for my decision.

My daughter just completed her first phase of braces (2^nd phase is recommended in a few years once all of her permanent teeth have grown in). My daughter’s smile is beautiful and perfect. We couldn’t be more satisfied with the results and service experience that we received. Updike and her staff do such an amazing job with making both the patient and parents feel comfortable with the process and care decisions. My daughter was so pleased with Dr. Updike that she selected her as her subject of study for a school assignment.
Updike cares so much for her patients and community that she actually took time out of her busy schedule to meet with my daughter so that my daughter could interview her for her community helper report. Not only was she eager to help and make the time for an interview, we also learned all about Updike’s background, accreditation and awards. Such as, she had received the America’s Top Dentists award for the last 3 years in a row. Quite Impressive! Initial Consultation:
I called for a consultation and received a date and time right away. We arrived and were checked in quickly. Dr. Updike took a look, made her recommendation, I agreed and we set a date for the braces. Everything flowed so smoothly. 5 Stars!
Braces Appointment:
They said it would take about 1.5 hours and surprisingly, we were out early! 5 Stars!
Follow-​up:
Dr. Updike herself called the next day to see how everything was going. 5 Stars! A cement spacer fell off a back molar over the weekend so I texted the emergency number and Dr. Updike responded quickly. She even called to see if I wanted to bring my son in to get it fixed on a Sunday since she was on her way into work anyway. Wow, seriously, excellent service.
Staff:
All the staff is so friendly and helpful. I couldn’t be happier. You will truly feel valued and cared for.

Our daughter had developed a severe under bite and we wanted an orthodontist who was noted for having a sensitive demeanor and excellent references. I spent all of October and November of 2013 meeting with various orthodontist in the Irvine and Newport Beach area and felt unquestionably the most comfortable with Dr. Updike and her team. She spent a fair amount of time with us in the initial consultation and clearly explained what my daughter was experiencing and what she felt would be the best approach to correcting her under bite.
Throughout the 18 month treatment period, Dr. Updike was very punctual for our check up appointments. We never waited to see her as scheduled, which is uncommon when visiting any doctor. At one point, my daughter had an emergency with the upper band on her braces and Dr. Updike immediately scheduled an appointment within an hour to correct the problem.
Our daughter recently completed her treatment and we are very pleased with the outcome. Her under bite has been wonderfully corrected and she feels very happy and confident with herself.
We highly recommend the orthodontic services of Dr. Updike and her team to all that want a gentle and easy orthodontic experience from a very sincere and highly experienced professional.

Our family loves Dr. Updike and her staff. We can’t seem to get enough of them. It wasn’t enough to have my daughter get braces and amazing results. I wanted those pretty straight teeth too! We have had the best experience with her and her staff. They are always polite and friendly making sure each one of us is at ease. Their waiting area is very kid friendly with video games, books, and plenty of toys to occupy your child. Definitely recommend her and the #1 orthodontist!

After visiting a nearby orthodontics office and receiving a very high quote, I decided to do a little more research. I came across Updike Ortho based on all of the great reviews they have received. I decided to give them a try. I was very impressed with the staff, Dr. Updike, and especially the reasonable quote I received for my son’s braces. Our overall experience throughout the 22 months my son had braces was terrific. Appointments were always easy to make (even have Saturdays), the wait to be seen in the office was never long, everyone was very friendly and knowledgable, and best of all, my son’s teeth look great! I highly recommend Dr. Updike if you are looking for someone who is down to earth, friendly, and very good at what she does.

We have been seeing Dr. Updike for the past two years. We absolutely love her and her staff. Everyone is so accommodating to our busy schedule and is always willing to help! They even sent us a very nice Holiday card and we love it.

5 stars doesn’t do her enough Justice! Dr. Updike deserves 10 stars! She is so good at what she does. She has an awesome, engaging personality, a great sense of humor and is great at calming down nervous visitors. Both of my daughters are currently in braces and they really like Dr. Updike. And as a parent, I love her! I’m so glad we were referred her by a classmate. Her whole staff is great too! Really compassionate and we never have to wait for our appointments, which is a huge bonus! They just seem really organized and really well run.

I“m very please with the work that Dr. Updike has done so far on my daughter.
My daughter had a cross-​bite, overbite, and open bite. You name it, she probably had it.
Dr. Updike explained each stage of the process with pictures and in a way that I understand what she was saying.
She also worked with us in terms of payment. Our insurance didn’t kick in immediately and we had to pay out-​of-​pocket, but they were very diligent in following up with our insurance and made sure that would could be billed and paid through insurance was. I didn’t have to call up the insurance. They took care of everything.
I was to able to make monthly payments until the insurance kicked in. At the end, I overpaid because the insurance covered more than they were expecting and they gave me a bit of a refund. Yay!
Dr. Updike is very friendly and non-​intimidating and very good children. So my daughter started at 8 years and the first phase of her treatment took 21 months. She’s got a beautiful smile now. But she’ll have to back for re-​assessment and phase two when all her baby teeth have fallen out and her adult teeth are in.
She also gave updates to our dentist so they kind of both knew what was going on with my daughter’s teeth.
I would and have recommended her.

Updike Orthodontics is amazing! As an apprehensive patient initially, they made me feel at ease and treated me with care and professionalism. The staff is very courteous and experienced. Dr. Updike is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about treating her patients. She’s meticulous about her work and does an amazing job. I cannot thank her enough for giving me a confident smile. It’s been about 3 months since I put my braces on from Dr. Updike. Like all the other reviews, there are a million and one good reasons why you should choose her as your orthodontist! I decided to go here after many months of researching for the right place to get my braces. I am 27 years old and was skeptical of getting braces so late, but Dr. Updike uses the latest and most modern tools to date! I chose to go with the clear braces, which does not stain (as I am an avid coffee drinker) and luckily I do not have to wear rubber bands! In pictures, you cannot even notice that I am wearing braces.
Dr. Updike and her amazing team of receptionists and assistants have made my experience here a BLAST. They are so considerate and accommodating to your schedule and I am so relieved that I found this office! You will not regret choosing her as your orthodontist and I HIGHLY recommend anyone to come here!
There was a time when there was a mix up with my schedule and even on her off day, she heard about the mix up and called me personally to apologize. WHO DOES THAT? She even gave me a Starbucks gift card on my next visit to say sorry. UGH this woman is just so sweet and amazing!
