Horrible company with even worse customer service. It’s not ok to leave someone without hot water for days just because of your scheduling deficiencies.

I’ve used Tommy Rooter more than once and they always are professional, courteous and informative. I recommend them Highly for all your plumbing needs.

We used Tommy Rooter for three issues covered under our home warranty over the past few months. 1) Issue with water heater pilot light and two times for toilet, faucet and related issues. We were very impressed by both Jeff and Stephan who provided the service. They were on time, knowledgeable, went out of their way to make sure we got the needed parts on a timely basis and worked on our behalf with the warranty company to assure that we got the benefit of our policy — which is often a struggle. With regard to the faucet issue (restricted water flow) Jeff easily solved a problem we have had for years and that at least three other plumbers we have had out to look at the problem in the past said was not fixable without re-​plumbing our master bath. They are very clean, personable, and nice people and we will be recommending them highly to our friends and neighbors.

Tommy Rooter was referred by a plumber to repair a broken sewer main. No written estimate was provided prior to the work being provided but they gave a verbal estimate based on having to dig down to a certain depth to make the repairs. They ended up not having to do nearly as much work as originally thought yet still demanded full payment for work that wasn’t done. The final work order was practically illegible and included very little information describing what work was actually performed. The plumber who referred them agreed that they overcharged. They are DISHONEST and NOT RECOMMENDED!

We just bought and the disposal was completely loose missing screws and not working. We had a home warranty and no time to deal. We turned it in and they referred tommy roots plumbing. They were there the next morning as scheduled and Stefan was very thorough and helpful. Very knowledgeable and we would use them again even without the warranty.

I set an appointment with Tommy Rooter for 11:00 AM, the day after I called for the appointment. They sent out Gary to replace my disposal. Gary was perfectly on time, he was very courteous and he did a fantastic job. He was in and out of my home in ½ hour. I would give him TEN STARS if Unilocal would allow it! Just wanted to give a shout out to James. He came out to our condo in Rancho Mirage promptly after we called for help with water valve issues. He replaced everything that was necessary quickly and efficiently. Everything is working as he promised. I would not hesitate to recommend James from Tommy Rooter plumbing for any plumbing issues.

Fast response to a hot water heater leak. Gary handled everything with minimal disruption to our lives and was quite possibly THE nicest service tech we have ever encountered.

I noticed a leak under my sink today and determined it was coming from the garbage disposal. I called our home warranty company and they gave our job to Tommy Rooter Plumbing. Before I even hung up with the warranty company, Tommy Rooter Plumbing called our phone and gave us a 1 hour ETA. Ralph arrived within the one hour window and diagnosed and fixed the problem immediately. He replaced the garbage disposal and took away the broken one. From the time of the initial call to the time of the completion of the job was less than two hours. Ralph was professional and courteous. I highly recommend Ralph and this company!

The only reason for even 2 stars is the the actual plumber that came out to replace my garbage disposal was nice — my home warranty company sent me them — he replaced my garbage disposal with one that sounds like a loud lawnmower. When I spoke to Ingrid (not pleasant) she said — we CANNOT help you, call the home warranty service. They left NO paper work on the actual disposal and I’m not sure if it is even meant for a residence. I’ve asked 3 times for the paperwork on it and now they said «they will send it to me ». Is it even new? What a scam. Bad customer service and Ingrid is RUDE. You can hear my garbage disposal all the way over in he pool area. Not pretty.

Outstanding service! We have used this Company 3 times in the past month and everyone has been great. The servicemen arrive on time, quickly understand what needs to be done and get to work. They are very efficient, thorough and work very hard. James arrived to a list of 5 items that needed attention, he crossed out the items on the list, left notes and set the right expectations. I highly recommend this Company. especially James!

I own a condominium that had continuing water damage in between the walls. Ivan from your company came out to access the problem and solve it within a matter of minutes. He completed the repairs and did an outstanding job. His professionalism and attention to detail was truly appreciated. Thank you, Tommy Rooter Plumbing for employing experts in your field. We had a plumbing emergency in our rental home. Tommy’s was the third place we called, and the only one who seemed interested in helping us on a Sunday with a clogged main line to the sewer. Their dispatcher, Beth, was so pleasant, and she was able to assure me that we would be their next stop, likely within an hour. She called me back when the plumber was on his way. The plumber himself, David, was also pleasant and efficient. Problem solved, and the price was right. They seem to do all plumbing jobs, and we plan to call them again (but hopefully not too soon!).

I lived in a apt at the time. My tolet clogged and when I used the plunger water would come out of wall or behind toilet. I mentioned to him that maybe the wax seal is gone and when i plunge that probably is where water is coming out. He said that he is not allowed to remove toilet because of company policy. Really if not a plumber than who. So he said he will investigate so I did my own investigating while he did. I came to the conlusion that there was a buried clean out in the wall. He and the manager said no and he quoted her $ 250.00 to snake from a roof vent. What? so while he is snaking on the roof I blow a hole in the opposite wall behind the toilet and whamo i find a buried cleanout with no screw in cover buried with drywall and drywall patch. There was my problem. I showed him and manager and both were like oh wow. End of story. She paid him. $ 250.00 for what didn’t matter. I understand things happen or mis diagnosis some times. but this was pointed out. Why would you not follow where the water is coming from and figure snaking will fix leak. Inexperience and unwillingness to search for the true problem. I get it might not be the company problem but watch your tech. My benefit of the doubt.

No stars! Non existent Customer Service. Incomplete work after 3 service calls and hundreds of dollars wasted. Left a mess. Worker was rude and defensive. Just disgusted with this company. D&J Plumbing in Cathedral City has been a life saver. And they discounted the work because of the BS with Tommy Rooter.

My home insurance company connected me to Tommy Rooters after the plumber they had originally sent us was unable to fix our problem. I needed to get the plumbing issues fixed asap and TR sent someone out within hours. The rep I spoke with at TR was friendly and helpful in setting up an appt time.
The guy from TR was great, he explained the problem we had in detail and worked thoroughly to get the job done. We live in Palm Desert so he was soaked in sweat by the time he had finished the job, but he didn’t fail to deliver quality service on top of a job well done. Very satisfied with my experience with Tommy Rooters!

The tech that was sent out was a nice guy. I got a little worried when he kept saying lefty Lucy rightie tightie. Sink leaked when he left. Had to call them back.

This company was selected by my home warranty company Fidelity.
I was called at 10:20 am notified that someone would be there at 11:00 am. The tech showed up at 12:00 pm
I explained to the tech that care needed to be taken since the water heater supplies the HVAC (house heating) system.
It was decided that the water heater needed to be replaced and the could have in installed the next morning at 9:00 am.
At 10:00 am — an hour late again, another tech shows up. I explain to him that its connected to the HVAC system, and please make sure that that valve is shut off so as not to drain the system requiring a service call to bleed the air out of the system.
about 45 minutes later I check on the tech and he’s asking me why water is still running. I said did you turn off the valve to the HVAC? He said «oh yeah».
Since the water heater is on my 2^nd floor deck — it required a 3^rd person to come and help carry out and carry in the units. The 3^rd tech shows up and quickly states that they have the wrong water heater. Two other tech had seen it, removed it and not noticed. The 3^rd tech says «I’m the only one in this company that understands this type of setup». It special order product and takes 3 – 4 days to receive. Not only has this company wasted 2 hours of my time by showing up late — they’ve now wasted another 3 hours based on their incompetents.
I called Beth the woman who answers the phone and asked what is going on. I was angry and wanted some answers. I asked to speak to the owner — who is supposedly Tommy. He was not available per Beth. I asked to have his cell phone to figure out a plan of action — she got defensive and rude and hung up the phone. I called right back and it went to the answering service. The service was very nice and told me that Beth is Tommy’s husband — the owner.
I contacted my warranty company and requested another service provider. Innercity Plumbing came out, on time, and diagnosed the issue. Also to find out that there were some new code requirements that Tommy had apparently decided to ignore — such as length of gas supply line, specific valves., etc — that were never mentioned by Tommy Rooter.
Beth was not apologetic and acted in a very unprofessional manner especially when the had made mistake after mistake. I felt as if their concern for my time was inconsequential and they were taking the stance as if they were doing me a favor by repairing my equipment.
This is my experience, i would not recommend using this company.
