Westside Lexus

My wife leased a Lexus NX200 recently after we were treated badly at Volkwagen down the road (the reviews about the passive-​aggressive behavior of the sales guys is spot on btw). After we left VW, we headed over to Lexus and my wife loved the NX200 so much we spent the next 6 hours haggling over our trade in. We did come in on the LAST day of the month which makes a huge difference (everyone knows that right) so we ended up pretty ok I think with the deal.
We dealt with Lurie Keener who was pleasantly much… much… much easier to negotiate with than anyone I have ever dealt with in my entire life. Yes he still had a little bit of that car salesman stankiness on him, but what you gonna do? Car salesman being greasy and oily is kinda like thinking politicians can be ethical or lawyers can be honest– it’s a scale thing and Lurie was much higher on the scale than anyone in the car industry I have ever dealt with. Russell Smith Mazda and Xsell motors are so greasy and slimy that when or if you shake their hands, you have to count your fingers when you pull away (I wish I had done a better job of that).
The finance lady (I wish I could remember her name) was truly awesome and it really did seem that she went out of her way– literally– to make sure my wife and I were really comfortable with the terms. We actually planned to buy the NX200 and then last minute we changed our minds and went with a lease instead. Instead of grumbling and making a face she was extremely professional, really seemed to mean it that there was no problem at all and we changed the deal at the last minute without issues. A lease works better for us and they didn’t make a fuss or anything. I asked her about that and she said it’s because this is a privately held dealership– not some cookie cutter corporate mega monster so they actually care about their customers and seem to also care a lot about their employees– everything filters down. I suspect the reason why so many people have horrible experiences with sales people is because management treats them like crap so they dump their anger onto the hapless customer. Oh well.
I’d like to give Lexus 5 stars but maybe another time. I didn’t feel 100% comfortable with Lurie but nothing is perfect.

Not sure how I feel about this place. Entrance to the lobby was quite confusing. Upon my father and I entering, I saw a group of salesman and I approached them. Told them my father and I are interested in purchasing, there seemed to an awkward pause, as if they were hesitant to even help us. I didn’t get a friendly vibe, more of a condescending vibe. We may have not been suited up in «Louis Vuitton», but we had plenty to fully pay off for a vehicle. One salesman finally spoke up to help. When it was time for a test drive, we had to be driven to a different lot (3 min drive). Salesman didn’t really encounter a conversation or ask us if we had any questions. Dropped us at the lot and told us we could take the new vehicle for a test drive. Thought that was odd, thought most places the salesman would ride with you to explain the features for the car. Anywhoo, thought this dealership experience wasn’t the best. Probably wouldn’t go back when it’s time to purchase.

Westside Lexus is the only place to purchase your next car and Jeffery Byers is the only person anyone should ever request to purchase their next vehicle. I went in, told him how much I could spend, what colors I did not want, 30 minutes later, he came back in the office and told me my car would be ready in two days. No need to test drive, did not even look at it until it was ready two days later and it was perfect! I bought a certified pre-​owned 2009 IS 250. I have never been happier. The best customer service in the service (Andrew Nagler) and collision (was hit in the parking lot at my work) departments as well.
They have a customer for life!

If you are looking for a new Lexus, Mary Margaret at Westside Lexus is the person to call!
Her customer service, attentiveness and attention to detail are impeccable. She communicates well, via phone, text or email. She is direct and friendly.
I bought my 3^rd Lexus recently and she made the process as smooth as can be. Her team makes you feel welcome and are super-​efficient. I highly recommend her and her team!

I hate the car buying experience. But not here. From the first contact (via email) they were professional and responsive. Not only did they have the best price on a new Lexus (I checked) the entire process was actually easy and … Actually enjoyable. Never thought that was possible. Highest rating possible. Great company.

I must say I went to clear lake and sterling McCall but this place was in a league of its own when making a deal. Made a great deal on a rc350 only to get another a few weeks later. They really did a great job putting together an offer and after hours and days of looking at numbers I was happy with the service they provided me. Though the facility may not be as top notch as sterling McCall the staff was nice and I’m glad I was able to find a place where they were willing to give you a great deal.

My wife and I have purchased 2 Lexus vehicles from this dealership, an ES-​300 back in 2003 and a L/​Certified 2015 RX350 a few days ago. This time around our sales consultant was Clarence. He was very professional, courteous and extremely knowledgeable with the vehicle we were interested in. The transaction was smooth and relatively quick (for a new car purchase). We have also had a pretty good experience with the service department in the past. Overall I am pretty satisfied with this dealership.

If I could score less, then I would. I recently purchased a vehicle not even a month ago. It’s been to the dealership to get fixed twice and today my engine light came on. I am so pissed off at trusting this dealership. It sucks, they don’t want to take responsibility and don’t want to take the car back either. If they truly did inspections, then they would have caught everything that was wrong with it. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE,

This review is regarding the service department at Westside Lexus. Beware if you have a coating on your paint or ask for specific things to be done to your vehicle — THEY WILL NOT LISTEN, NOR WILL THEY CARE IF IT IS DAMAGED.
I took my car in for a simple state inspection and an air conditioner noise. I asked them not to wash my car due to it having a cQuartz coating on the paint because they use automatic car washes. Well, they washed it. They egg you on initially, take the blame, get quotes from third parties (e.g., my detailer), and make it seem like they will do the proper thing to make it right.
Well, they don’t. After being declined by Hans Schackmann to do anything, I write an email to everyone and get a call from Robert Parnell; he’s the most rude person there. He called the coating hogwash, and he’ll only offer $ 100. They get tons of cars in per day, they can’t take the time to listen to one customer that asks not to wash a car. Well, if they can’t, why can their sister company Northside Lexus do what’s requested?
My review probably won’t mean anything to the average driver, but if you have any aftermarket options or anything ‘special’ on your car, just know that if its damaged, they will refuse to get it repaired.
Also know, the Lexus Headquarters will only stand by the dealer. Opening a case with them is pointless.
If I could select ZERO stars, I would.

I called to make an appointment to have my car serviced and stated that there were vibrating issues in my wheels and did not receive a call back after I left a message and also my number. I called back again later in the evening to talk to an advisor and was sent to the voice message again, so I left my name and number again. Today is the third day and I still have not received a phone call back. It is very scary to be driving a car everyday and not know if the wheel or something is going to break while on the highway and getting into a major accident. Unacceptable service.

I had previously purchased a 2014 RX 350 from Westside, and the experience was highly positive (if you’re looking for pre-​owned, see Chong Lee … she’s one piece of work, worth the price of admission alone). The only drawback to the vehicle was size. When the smaller NX 200t was introduced, I was intrigued … absolutely nothing wrong with my RX, but the new addition to the Lexus family seemed a better fit for my lifestyle. On the downside, I’d be violating two tenets: (1) never buy a new car, and (2) avoid the first model year. I’d also be taking a hit trading in the RX, so it all came down to numbers. We negotiated a really fair deal, and I went for it.
I’m okay without some bells and whistles, but rain-​sensing wipers are not one of them (had them on my two previous vehicles, and they’re now a must). Lurie Keener, my salesperson, and I simply assumed that they’d be standard equipment. As it turned out, they are not (only discovered it when I tried to find the control during a thunderstorm on the way home from the dealership). So what now …
I e-​mailed Brett Aldridge, the company president, and was contacted that day by Homer Hsu, one of the sales managers, who advised me that he would locate a suitable vehicle within a few days. The price difference turned out to be negligible after negotiation … and five days later, I turned in NX #1 for NX #2, imported from Louisiana. I was more than pleased with Westside’s efforts to resolve this matter.
However, the new ride had several deep scratches on the hood and left rear quarter panel, so it was off to the body shop. There was no problem getting a loaner (ironically an RX), and I was called to come pick up my car several days later. Upon inspection, I noticed that they hadn’t even touched the quarter panel … so, back in the loaner. After another few days, I finally drove my new NX away. The workmanship was impeccable, albeit that someone dropped the ball along the way.
Another issue that subtracts a star involves parts. There are several add-​ons I prefer on all my vehicles: mud guards, door edge protectors and body side molding. Westside wanted around $ 1200 to supply and install them. After a bit of research, I obtained the genuine OEM parts (not knockoffs) from Bell Lexus in Scottsdale, AZ for just over $ 250 delivered. Apollo Paint & Body installed them for $ 150 … that’s $ 800 saved. Given that I purchased two vehicles from Westside in less than a year (not to mention my two trade-​ins), the least they could have done was to give me a break on the bling.
I need to mention two other individuals … Andrew Tran is my service adviser. Unlike others I’ve come across, he’s genuinely concerned with my satisfaction, and isn’t continually up-​selling services I neither need nor want. Jocelyn Bui is the technology specialist. My NX is equipped with some of the most advanced features in the industry, and she knows them cold. Explaining them to us older folks is a challenge, but she’s certainly up to it. The service facility itself is fine. It’s in a separate building, around the corner from the showroom, and very comfortable, right down to the space-​age coffee machine. But get there early … they generally run out of donuts by 10:30.
On my last visit, I was informed that they’ll be undertaking a major expansion, having acquired what was the Volvo store next door, to be replaced by new showrooms and a state-​of-​the-​art service department. That current facility will become the new body shop. Westside’s December sales ranked #2 in the nation among Lexus dealers … no small accomplishment.

To summarize, save for a few relatively minor shortcomings, it’s a good place to buy and service your Lexus. I live considerably closer to the competition, but much prefer dealing with the people at Westside. Given the cost of the vehicles, we buyers naturally have somewhat higher expectations, and they generally live up to them. The occasional slip-​up is not indicative of their overall performance … but it does demonstrate that there’s always room for improvement. I’ll certainly be returning.

I take my car to this place for light maintenance.
Customer service is great — but I wish they would actually complete the work. Here’s an example:
During the maintenance they check like 100+ points of service (refill windshield fluid) when I checked, sure enough it was empty so why is it checked?
The car wash/​vacuum is the worst. they only vacuum the driver side. I had to complaint about it and they took it to the back and vacuumed the passenger side. When I got it back, they didn’t even vacuum the back. (I should have checked) — I went back inside and they told me they don’t do the back.
This is a LEXUS dealership — I would expect more than the average dealership.
My wife’s dealership (Nissan) down the street is much better.

So we are contacted and I emailed them all the things that were WRONG with my car and how much it cost to fix it. that was almost a month ago and HAVE NOT heard back from them. that does not surprise me either.

I rarely assign the coveted 5 star review on Unilocal,but I sincerely feel it’s well deserved to Westside Lexus. My extraordinary experience was thanks in not small part, to sales consultant Shannon George. From the time I called to inquire about the vehicle, to the test drive, and closing of the purchase, Shannon was courteous, professional, and fair. As far as car purchases go, this has by far been my best experience. Shannon has my highest recommendation, and I look forward to doing business with him in the future.

Bought 5 cars here and will continue to buy more. I’m a spur of the moment buyer and have bought from various reps, Susan, David, and Tim. Each one of them were very knowledgeable and made the experience less painful than buying a car usually is. They didn’t used to negotiate price but in recent years, I have been able to get the price down by waiting for the end of the month or later in the year.

This was the best car buying experience I’ve ever had (out of 7 car purchases). The sales and support people are pleasant to work with, and have a good focus on customer service. I never felt pressured to make a decision before I was ready. I would give Westside Lexus my business every time I need a car.
I also just had my new Lexus NX 200t for a 5,000 mile service. It was easy — quick drop-​off, loaner car, car was ready on time, and quick check-​out. Oh, and the service is free since I bought the car there!

Bought 2 cars here (1 new and 1 pre-​owned) about 3 ½ years ago and have had good experiences thus far. In fact, they were so honest that they honored something that they didn’t have to. I had my windshield replaced when I bought the car, but noticed it was flawed. I never said anything, but it always bothered me. Well, I finally brought it up and they replaced it for free! 3 ½ years later and very little asking on my part. They realize that customer service is important and they try to make themselves stand out.

I took my 2009 IS to Westside Lexus for 50k service. I was told that the Oil and Filter has been changed and 100 whatever points inspection has been done. I got charged for $ 150 due to the service.
The Funny thing is they even charged me for filling up the windshield liquid tank — which I always keep it full myself!!! — I did not complain about it. But a week after I realized the radiator coolant level is very low and I had to buy coolant to fill it up. I do not know 100 points inspection includes exactly what, if checking the coolant level is not part of it! Or maybe it’s time to investigate, Are they still pursuing the perfection or what!

Service performed 14 Nov 2014.
NAV system update promised for 1.25 hours. Actual time exceeded 2 hours. If I had an accurate estimate, I would have used a loner vehicle.
Summary — This is poor customer service.
Rating — C at best.

My profession is purchasing. I do it for a living, except I buy oilfield equipment and services. My boss always tell me, «negotiate your deals the same way you would negotiate on a car».
The salesman asked if I’m as tough at work as I was while I negotiated for my car. I guess I’m doing something right. It literally took me 5 hours to close and sign the deal… and I almost walked out several times because I called their bluff.
I’ve written an extensive review on the last car I purchased with Sterling McCall Toyota so I won’t go into much details here about the car buying process. I will say though that you should do a lot of research on the car you want. Definitely look into used options. Remember negotiating the price for the car itself is the easy part — the most important factor is your interest rate. At the end of the day, know that they want to sell the car more than you want to buy it.
I will say the service at Westside Lexus has been really good. Bobby, my salesman has been taking care of me every time I’ve been back (deal on tinting, free car washes, etc.) I got a brand new 2014 ES 350 for the same price Lexus of Clear Lake was trying to sell me for a used one with 10K miles.
I walked out pissed off because it took way longer than I expected bc they kept jacking me around in finance and made me miss a pub crawl I already paid for and planned on going. They were also pretty pissed off because it took 3 of them, including the Finance Director to close my deal.
I love my new car. Drove off the lot with only 10 miles. It’s been a month and I’ve already put 1800+ miles on it.
