I gave my information when I stopped by to view one of their vehicles and they will NOT stop calling me! I’ve blocked their number, but somehow they find a way get through and leave annoying messages! I have asked them to stop calling me, but they don’t care about my request

It was one of the most embarrassing experiences of my life. We were treated like crap. Randy talked to us as if we were beggars in a condescending manner. It was very strange, still don’t understand why he talked to us in such a horrible way. I am assuming, perhaps, first name being Muhammad, I was discriminated against.
The price quoted was $ 15,000 higher than other dealerships. I ended up buying a SUV from another Chevy dealer at Houston. I hope there is some Karma, and these crooks get punished.

I’ve read the reviews and agree with several in that they are why consumers are afraid of «used car salesman». Initially I had a good encounter with «Michelle» she got me started and found several cars that I was interested in. I asked her to make the cars available to view the following day.
I called the next day to make sure the cars were available. I got «Andrew» and the whole experience went south. While test driving one car, Andrew explained that this was a «no haggle» price dealer just like Carmax. I explained to Andrew that I was considering another car at Carmax. That his car was $ 1000.00 more but he could not lower the price.
We got back to the dealership and Andrew asked me to wait to see if he could find the type of car I was interested in at another dealer. I agreed. Five minutes later Andrew came back with the manager, a rather large man as well as tall. Didn’t introduce himself other than «I’m the manager». He said he confirmed the price of the car at Carmax and said; «I’ll match their price, if you buy the car today». Initially I was in agreement with that as their car was what I wanted. I wanted to look the car over and glad I did. I opened the trunk, clean, I pulled the flooring to look at the wheel well and spare tire. As I did I thought; wait, Andrew said this was a «no haggle price dealer». I felt cheated by this.
Then that’s when I saw rust on a weld joint in the wheel well of a 2012 car. But something caught my eye. I looked closer, pushed my finger into the wheel well and yep, a half an inch of water. I immediately knew that this was a flood damaged car with a supposedly clean «Car Fax» report. Oh and don’t forget the 128 point check list by highly experienced and certified mechanics and the12 hours of detailing each car goes through before being placed for sale.
I motioned for Andrew to look at my inspection. I showed him my concern and told him not buying for two reasons. He misrepresented the «no haggle price» and deceived me with the car fax report on car when it was obviously a flood damaged car. I’ve included the VIN number, stock number, Model, Make and year of car. Oh, I turned around and purchased the car at Carmax with a totally enjoyable experience. In and out in less then 2 hours, with new car.
I hope who ever reads this take heed. Mac Haik auto direct is still a used car dealer with salespeople who act like the proverbial «used car salesmen». Buyer forewarned, buyer beware.

I couldn’t agree more with several of the earlier reviews… these guys are shady and will screw you over if given half a chance.
Here’s my story — looking for a good used car for my niece to drive here in Houston. I checked Mac’s website and found something interesting. I sent an email (it was on a Sunday) and the next morning talked with the Internet Sales Rep (I think it was Caesar). He told me the car was there and I made an appointment to come by at 12:00.
Arrived around noon and my sales contact told me the car was sent to auction, but they had several cars in the same price range. Can you say bait and switch!!! I told him I confirmed with Caesar already and was assured the car would be available. He just looked at me and said «they have other cars». I asked for the manager… told him my story and he just shrugged his shoulders and told me he sent the car to the auction, but they had other cars. He couldn’t have cared less!
I told both the manager and sales representative they wasted my time and I wouldn’t be interested in anything they have… promptly left and never looked back. In hindsight, I think I got off lucky after reading the reviews below.
These guys are Charlatans — they may have a nice car to lure you into the dealership, but they are not interested taking care of the customer.

I’m posting this here to warn people about dealing with Mac Haik Auto Direct. STAY AWAY FROM MAC HAIK AUTO DIRECT! I recently tried to buy a car. Caught them in fraud in inspecting the vehicle, as well as other unethical behavior. IMHO, they are nothing but rip off artists. I will be filing complaints with Department of Public Safety, Texas Attorney General, Consumer Safety Commission and any other site I can find. I’m assuming all Mac Haik dealers do business this way because I left two messages for Terry Shields, GM over all dealerships. He has not returned my call even though I told his secretary it was about a serious issue. This whole issue could have been easily avoided had it not been for Javier, their immature, hot-​headed sales manager. He wanted to stick with the story even though he knew I caught them inspecting a vehicle that should not have passed inspection. I know this because I paid a $ 500 deposit to take the car to my mechanic, as well as two State Inspection stations. All 3 said the car would not pass inspection in the condition it was in. READ THEIR OTHER REVIEWS. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!

DO NOT waster your time or your hard earned money on this dealership!!! My sales person Ted, was an idiot and knew NOTHING about the car I was interested in buying. They are a NO hassle dealership and will tell you that 50 times. I was paying CASH and didn’t agree with the walk out price I was asking for, so I left. After sleeping on it, I decided I would pay their walk out price. I called back since I lived an HOUR away from the dealership. I COULD NOT get someone to call me back. Two days after my original visit I called to speak to the RUDEST manager I have EVER spoke to at any business. He told me that the price I was quoted two days earlier was NO longer an opinion. I told him where he would go and how fast to get there. DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE ANY BUSINESS they are either STUPID OR RUDE and that is a TERRIBLE combo!!! Looking at these reviews I see I am NOT alone on my opinion either. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

A friend of mine was cussed out by a salesperson here. I won’t ever be doing business here. I wish 0 stars was a rating.

So I was with my friend helping her buy a car, we were looking over the prices of the car with the sales guy and agreed to a drive out price with tax title and license all inclusive. We get to financing and the finance guy sit’s there giving us a figure that is $ 3000 over what we agreed on. I told him he got some kind of mixed up and that we all agree to such and such price. He told me that there is no way and that the drive out price was including a down payment. That doesn’t sound right now does it. We argued back and fourth on the actual price of the car and he calls the sales guy back in, the sales guy said yeah everything is with a down payment, I told him we agreed on drive out WITH TTL no down payment was involved in that DO price.
I further explained why their logic is flawed by pointing out that at the DO price with the down payment that they said we were supposed to put down is $ 800 higher than the asking price with TTL included. Why would we negotiate to pay MORE than the asking price.
Eventually the «Sales manager» was called in to talk to us. He sat down and started off saying my friend have no credit and in order to sell us the car he will need to give her 21.5% APR. I told him that is BS because the finance person even wrote down on a form that she was approved for 6% earlier, to which he refused to let me go through the folder for that form. He said that 6% was a special offer that he could pull off if we agreed to their new price. I crunched the monthly payments out and told him that it will put her at $ 5000 more at the end of the loan for the car. He’s started telling me his corporate office will not let him lower the price to the agreed price before so I told him to call them, he dials a number on the phone and sat there mumbling something then said they told him NO and not to sell the car because we’re difficult, BUT he likes us so he wants to help.
We kept talking and I point out how they inflated the price to my friend so she could understand, the sales manager then flat out said «I’m busy guys, if you’re not going to take it then I got better things to do.» This was it for my friend and I, we got up and told him to have a good day. We got 3 steps from the office and he pops his head out yelling at me, «Why are you ruining my deal?!», I told him that the price has deviated too far from what was originally discussed and he was being too pushy so my friend is not comfortable buying at this time.
He decided to take his insults to a personal level, asked me what I do, I told him I also work in sales and he mocked me. «Oh yeah bet you get your clients to sign with big crayons don’t you?!», «Yeah she didn’t need you to fuck up the deal, get the fuck out of my dealership.», «OH yeah and don’t even come back here you motherfucking faggot.» etc. I was really heated, however I knew better than to try and pick at fight at a dealership of all places, I asked the girl at the front desk for the GM’s card but she acted like she didn’t hear me. My friend ended up rushing me out of there because she was starting to tear up from the sales manager screaming at us still.
I have bought many cars in the past and have helped a lot of my friends buy cars, both from private sellers and dealers. Never once have I met such a incompetent and rude bunch of sales people. The sales guy could not remember what he even discussed with us, the finance guy played dumb to the price that was agreed and tried to rope us over our heads, finally I get cussed out and called derogatory terms from a angry desperate sales manager. I was not impressed nor will I ever let any friends or family do business here.
Thank yous to you guys, Sultan, Cameron and Gardner, you guys lost 100% of my business and any one else’s that might ever want to look at anything on your lot.
EDIT: They sent another representative to call my friend today and told her to come back. They told her the car is basically all hers and she can drive off with it today. She said she does not want to do business with them and they told her they definitely want her business however she is not allowed to bring me or else they will refuse to do business. Such arrogance with this sales team, first of all the customer does not want to do business with you anymore and you still have the gall to threaten them not to bring their friend who have been helping them with buying a car long before they came into the picture. I wish Unilocal can let me give them NO STARS.

Terrible service. Just left the lot. No sense of urgency and care from the salesmen. I spoke to one and he left me at his desk. Then another came because the first one had to take a smoke break. Then the second sat there and left after a couple minutes. I was ready to buy with cash, and they knew that. But if course no sense of urgency… So we went somewhere else.

I became a victim of their lies, saw a 2011 BMW M3 vin WBSWD9C52AP362536 on their website, excitedly I called and they told me the car is great and gave me a good price on it. I asked for a carfax report and they emailed me a link but mysteriously the link did not work. So I took the salesman’s word and booked a $ 900 airline ticket. But as a caution I ran a carfax and lo and behold the Carfax shows structural damage right before they apparently bought it at an auction. Now I lost my ticket and when I called the salesman said sorry it was just a fender bender and bmw fixed it. I asked for any proof and he said no he does not have anything. Luckily I did not fly 6 hours to get there and find this information in Houston. Not recommended I would give them a negative star rating for lying and hiding major structural damage if I could. Buyer Beware !!!

The entire sales process was as good as it gets. My sales guy Jordon communicated very well, keep me in the loop the entire time and was easy to deal with. There were no hard sales or bait and switch tactics. I drove from Austin to pick up my car. It was worth the one way rental and my time. I recommend these guys and this dealership! The cars were top notch too!

Not surprising given that it’s a used car dealership… But these guys are shady shady shady. Try to go elsewhere unless absolutely necessary. After each encounter with these guys I felt the need to shower. It all just felt dirty and uncomfortable.
I walked in to the dealer looking to test drive/​talk about a particular vehicle. Long story short, we came back the next day to negotiate. We had a comparable vehicle to compare to so we requested a price reduction (minimal– under $ 1000 on a $ 20,000k+ car) and were very rudely told no by the manager. He said he’d rather sell it in auction than sell it to us for that price.
After that awful experience we went home. I got a call a few days later asking if I was still interested. Mid call, the salesman was somehow informed the car was sold. They transferred me to the manager (the same polite gentleman I talked to a few days before) and he told me they had another buyer on the way (paying their asking price) but if I got there first, I could buy it instead.
Given that it’s now 2 weeks later and the car is still in their online inventory, I’m calling BS on their dirty shady sales tactic. And not only do they still have the car, they have LOWERED THE PRICE TO LESS THAN WE OFFERED TO PAY.
They could have sold it to me weeks earlier for more money. All in all it was a very unpleasant experience and I would not recommend this dealership.

We bought a 2012 GMC Yukon Denali in great condition on 05/​03/​2014 — the car is fantastic! IMRAN «RON» was our sales guy and a sales guy he was. He said that he would be able to offer better than what was listed online but when we sat down to discuss the details, he said he was unable to do so and the price listed was the best he could offer. No worries, the car was exactly the one we were looking for and we paid cash for it.
During the transaction we realized the car did not have a keyless remote (the one that controls the alarm!) only a hard key. This meant that everytime we unlocked the door the car alarm would go off until we started the engine. He said no worries as it probably got misplaced with the other keys. When he couldn’t find it, he offered to get us one from GMC — only it was a Saturday so he’d have to wait until Monday to order it. THAT WAS 2 MONTHS AGO. I have sinced called IMRAN «RON» almost every week for the past month or so. Each call resulted in «It’s been ordered, I’m just waiting for it.» When I asked how long it takes to get it from GMC, he said 2 days. THAT WAS ONE MONTH AGO. The last time I spoke to him I caught him on vacation. He directed me to a colleague (as if that guy would know what I’m talking about!) but it turns out the guy covering for IMRAN «RON» was off that day, too. It’s been a couple of weeks since my last call.
I found the finance managers card and contacted him to see if he could help. He said could not but he said their sales manager Dustin could and transferred me to his voicemail (of course!). I left a voicemail yesterday and have yet to hear from Dustin or IMRAN «RON.»
I’m in sales, too, so I know what’s it’s like to sell the dream… even more importantly, I know what it means to come through for your clients. The keyless remote according to IMRAN «RON» is worth $ 200.00…is $ 200.00 worth ANOTHER Unilocal review supporting the 1-​STAR rating the public has given to MAC HAIK AUTO DIRECT?
Mr. Haik, if you read these reviews you may want to address the basics of customer service with your team at the 12 111 Katy Freeway location. The auto empire reputation you have worked so hard to build is slowly coming down… and its decline is starting with employees like IMRAN «RON».

Ohhhh where to begin…
So my boyfriend and I were looking to buy a new car to replace our oldest one. We were looking for a very specific car and after doing a lot of looking I found what appeared to be a great deal on the Houston Direct website. Because we live far from Houston, I called them twice the day before to make sure it was still there and it was. They texted me a picture of it and everything. The next day, I called them before we left to make the journey to Houston and it was still there. Then I called one more time when we were about 10 minutes away and I was reassured that it was indeed still there and that they had it out and ready for us.
So we get there, we check out the car. We are sitting in it we are loving it and we go back inside to hammer out the details. At this time they take our old car to be appraised for a trade-​in value but our stuff was still in it so the salesman told us to go ahead and put in the new car. We did that and when we went back inside, I still had the keys in my hand and everything, the salesman told us that there was someone in the finance office buying «our» car. I can’t even describe how angry I was. I mean our stuff was in this car and I was holding the keys! So then he tries to save the appointment with…
Car #2: This car is one I had also seen on the website. I wasn’t crazy about it and it took some convincing, but I agreed to check it out. So he goes to bring that car up to the front and he comes back empty handed and was like ohhhh that one sold. So I’m getting angrier and he is fumbling at the computer looking for other ones when I see on the showroom floor…
Car #3: I asked about this car out of pure curiosity. I thought for sure it was out of my price range but I wanted to know how much it was and the number that came out of his mouth was incredible! It was in my price/​mileage range and holy cow it was a Cadillac. So I walk over and start to check it out and I’m sitting in the drivers seat when he runs over and says that is the wrong one and that this was actually about $ 10K more than what he told me. Still angrier so he goes to get the one he actually saw on the computer
Car #4: We sat there for about 20 minutes waiting for him to bring us the actual car he was talking and when he finally comes back, guess what IT’S SOLD.
Car #5: Finally, as I’m wondering why we are still here, he tries to get us into this gross, stained old SUV that is far cry in quality than the one we came here for originally.
Needless to say, we left empty handed. This was the first car I was to purchase via financing and not cash and this was very traumatizing. Do not go here. It is an emotional energy drain and the mind games take all the fun out of buying a car.
The next day we went to Sterling McCall Lexus and had a wonderful experience. They turned my feelings on buying a used car right back around. I guess you just need to know where to go and Houston Direct Preowned is not it.

Very friendly and willing to help! Their inventory is quite large, so I found what I wanted.

My husband and I bought two cars this past week from the same salesperson the last reviewer mentioned. The sales experience was pleasant, although Ron (Imran) was trying to help another couple at the same time, so we spent a good hour wondering what we were waiting on and where he had gone.
HOWEVER, the car I bought has had several major issues in the few days that I’ve owned it, and while dealing with these problems I have found that Ron omitted serious information and lied to me about several things. After finally getting quite frustrated with him on the phone and asking how he would make it right, he said «I showed you the Carfax», and directed me to talk to his manager if I had any other concerns.
Here are the issues so far with my «Certified Pre-​Owned» and «Mac Haik 120 Point Certified Inspected» 2013 Ford Escape:
— My car’s audio system would shut down and the warning lights would come on intermittently. Ron directed me to the Ford Service Center, and he promised that they would have a loaner car for me. The service center person told me that Ron should have never promised that, and that they do not give loaner cars in these circumstances.
— When purchasing the car, Ron assured me that the recall notice on the engine had been complied with. The Ford Service Center told me that was not the case, and my car would need to be in the shop for another few days because of this.
— The Ford Service Center also told me that my car’s battery had been replaced with a non-​Ford certified battery by the previous owner. I was never notified of this.
— The Ford Service Center also informed me that the previous owner was Avis. I was not aware that my car had been a rental car. I would have never bought a rental car.
Having only dealt with one salesperson at Mac Haik, I cannot comment on all of them. But I would highly recommend against doing business with Ron. I would have been better off going to a no-​name used car lot.

I stopped by yesterday for service to my vehicle and was «treated» to the most hostile non-​greeting I have ever received! Not only did the tattooed dark sunglasses wearing car dealer avoid answering my questions, he berated me and belittled me immaturely like a school yard bully. After less than 1 minute of this ABUSE I ended our joke of a conversation and went on my way. Only then, as I was leaving with my back turned, did he shout the information I actually needed from him. Maybe I’m naïve, but I would think even in this business known for screwing its customers, an employee could at least pretend to show a little customer service.
