Staybridge Suites Houston West/Energy Corridor

Stayed at Staybridge West/​Energy Corridor this past weekend, and I must say, I couldn’t decide between 4 or 5 stars.
The only thing I didn’t care for was the aesthetics of the rooms.
Don’t get me wrong, this is still a great hotel with a kind and accommodating manager, free wifi, free hot breakfast, small gym, pool, and a fully stocked kitchen with plates/​cups/​pans and all.
The décor in the rooms could use a tiny bit of a face lift, but whatever. Rates are reasonable and everything is clean.
When we first arrived, they took awhile to get our room ready, so the manager decided to hook us up and give us an extra room for free. Sweet! It was my BF, his brother, and I, so having an extra room was awesome.
I was originally going to give this hotel 3.5−4 stars, but this is why I bumped it to 5.
Sunday morning, 8AM, we wake up still hung over as ever from a wedding the night before, ready to head to the Hobby Airport. My bf suggested we should eat a little.
Even though I was so nauseous, I forced myself to eat. MAN! They don’t play around with their free breakfast.
1) For beverages, they had coffee, milk, and the holy trinity of juices: cranberry, orange, and apple.
2) They had bagels, toast, and waffles
3) Not one but TWO type of sausages and scrambled eggs (I see on Unilocal,they have bacon sometimes too).
4) A hot pot of perfectly cooked oatmeal with all the fixings on the side for your enjoyment: granola, brown sugar, etc.
5) Different types of cereal
I gulped down a glass of orange juice, had some sausages and eggs, and a bowl of oatmeal with brown sugar.
NO KIDDING, less than an hour later, I felt like a brand new woman. Thank you Staybridge for curing my nasty hangover with your free hot breakfast.

clean, friendly, safe, free WiFi, free breakfast, pool, free washer and dryers, small kitchen, dishwasher, toaster, fridge… just come, its the place to stay especially if you have children or pets.

I stayed at Staybridge with a friend who was there 4 days on business. As my commute is long, she invited her good ol pal to bunk in her 2 br suite. Now the hotel is legit, I have no complaints about the décor (though the furniture in the living room of the suite seems a bit outdated), the TVs are all flat screened, the beds & pillows are comfortable. The kitchen area was very small with a 2 aisle stove (one small, one big). As I wasn’t trying to do any cooking, I didn’t care in the least.
The common rooms have modern furniture and décor. There’s the standard: pool, business and workout facilities. I believe laundry as well as I saw someone carrying a basket of clothes.
Now the great part of Staybridge is the fact that they have happy hours Tues — Thurs with food & alcohol and breakfast is served until 9:30am. It would have been really wonderful to enjoy if the breakfast did not make me violently ill the first day I had it. I had scrambled eggs with peppers mixture, bacon, and soda. I ate, went to work and stomach cramps from the deep pits of hell ensued. I had to leave work early as I was in so much pain. I vomited when I got back to the hotel and couldn’t eat anything until 9pm. I did inform one of the managers who said he would inform the staff. Of course I have no way of verifying it but at least they were aware.
My other complaint has to do with cleaning staff. This is an extended stay, they make up beds, collect used towels and wipe stuff down a bit. No full service. What I don’t like is how they walked in the room without knocking (or a noticeable knock) on 2 separate occasions. Literally I just heard voices and was like WTF! The last time, I heard her coming in for the 2^nd time in ¹⁰⁄₁₅ minutes (first time she actually knocked and told me it was checkout day) and therefore had time to cover myself with a sheet since I was getting ready to shower and walking around with my girls on full display. She did apologize and leave but still.
All in all, I was grateful to my friend saving me that 2 hour+ roundtrip commute. Quite certain I wouldn’t choose here if I was footing the bill.

Wonderful, friendly staff. Clean rooms, with all amenities. But what’s best? FREE FOOD. Excellent free breakfast, but a «happy hour» with (yes, amazing!) FREE beer. If you are a business traveler to Houston, this is a great place to stay — everything you need, nothing you don’t. And did I mention: FREE BEER?

In the heart of the Energy corridor Staybridge Suites offers msny amenities within walking distance incuding the Derrick Tavern! It is affordable with gym, laundry, swimming pool, free wifi and happy hours. The staff are always friendly. My favourite place to stay when visiting.
