I hired Nicole for a private party for friends with a nostalgic «60s high school prom» theme. She showed her resourcefulness by creating a dining room-​cum-​photo studio using props and a large white sheet for a background.
After each couple was photographed in different poses, she was able to develop and print a very professional photo given to each couple as a tangible memory of the night’s party. I know that she had to do that as well as photograph the dinner followed by the skits and dancing. She didn’t have a helper, but she was able to accomplish everything with aplomb.
You won’t make a better decision for your event. Trust me!

Hire Nicole and you, too, can feel like a genius! We had been planning a multi-​generation family trip to Hawaii — to celebrate my parents’ 50^th anniversary — for a long time, and my mom had already made it clear that she wanted a NICE picture of the WHOLE family. But you know the deal: sure, you’re all together and looking respectable, but it’s after dinner, dark outside and nothing but low-​ceilings and fluorescents, not to mention tired, cranky family members — and that’s when you beg a passing stranger to snap a picture. Those photos are always such winners! So in a moment of inspiration I searched Unilocal and quickly found Nicole. I was drawn to her natural approach to composition and lighting, so I sent her an email. She was lightning fast in her response and within a day or so we had nailed down the basics, working together to figure out the particulars as we thought it through more and discussed what I was hoping for — all really easily over email. She was super easy to work with and flexible. Because we had 9 people and wanted a few different combos, we planned a 40 minute shoot right where we were staying. Nicole was early to the site, super friendly and easy-​going — and then she started shooting and did not let up for the whole 40 minutes. We did every conceivable combo of family members, including individual pictures of the kids, in 3 different settings. She was great with the kids (she’s familiar with pre-​teen attitude), so everyone’s smiles stayed fresh and the pictures look lovely and not forced. The results? 91 truly fantastic photos in 40 minutes, delivered via dropbox, within 3 days. Really amazing.

My parents took the whole family to Hawaii over Presidents’ Week for their 40^th anniversary. As a Christmas present my sister and I wanted to get family portraits on the beach bit we had no idea where to even begin looking for a photographer as we are all the way in New Jersey. I found Nicole on Unilocal and saw her wonderful reviews and looked at her beautiful pictures on her website. After a few emails back and forth I knew she would be perfect — and we weren’t wrong! She was so easy to work with and really knowledgable. She knew which time of day would give us the best light by the beach at our hotel — the ocean, Diamondhead, and Waikiki Beach made for a fabulous backdrop with the rising sun! Nicole was fabulous with the four kids in our group (ranging from 9 months to 9 years) as well and made sure everyone got the pictures we wanted. Of course the best part was when we received the CD of all the gorgeous pictures about a week later — there are so many great shots to choose from. This was a first time in Hawaii for my family and our daughter but it was a second time for my husband and I. We will definitely be bringing our daughter back in a few years and will give Nicole a call for more beautiful pictures!

My husband, my grown children & I planned a 40^th wedding anniversary in Honolulu & wanted some professional family pictures taken in the gorgeous Aulani resort in Ko Olina. I looked at several reviews of photographers in the Honolulu area & sent out some queries to several. Nicole’s (Studio 3511) response was quick & professional. We emailed back & forth, easily setting up the time, place & price. Several days before our arrival, she contacted me confirming the photo shoot & once again was completely thorough & professional. The photo shoot was such fun — she was patient with all of us, including taking in our requests on some fun shots. She has an eye for what looks great & we ended up with some gorgeous backdrops as well as great family pictures! Pictures were ready within a couple days. Had a wonderful session with Nicole on our recent family trip to Waikiki! We had bad weather on the day of our planned shoot and Nicole was able to accommodate us the following morning instead, which we really appreciated. She was so patient with our large family (14 people, 5 kids) and everyone had a lovely time during the shoot. Best part was that the photos were delivered very quickly and they are amazing! Based on Nicole’s Studio 3511 Unilocal reviews, my wife and I reached out to her for our anniversary in Waikiki. From the start, she has been very helpful with any questions we had, like suggested locations. On the morning we were to meet, she was there 15min before our appointment, which was awesome. During the photo session, she asked what we wanted and was really energetic and smiley throughout our time with her. She made sure we got everything we wanted before we parted ways. As she’s working on our photographs, she’s been keeping us up to date.

She makes sure you are positioned correctly and gives you tips that will make the pictures look even better. She is very professional while at the same time super laid back and shows you the aloha spirit. I was fortunate enough to spend 10 days in Hawaii over the holidays. We went with my boyfriend’s family, a Christmas gift from his parents to all the kids. We wanted to do something special for their Christmas present and settled on a photography session, and we were lucky enough to work with Nicole. Not only was she flexible and accommodating right before the New Year, she is a fantastic photographer. We booked a 40 minute session and had plenty of time to take photos of the family, siblings and each couple. All of the photos turned out beautifully. Nicole suggested the beach, and picked a great are with wonderful backgrounds during the golden hour (beach, greenery, pier). She was also so much fun to work with. She was comfortable with my group’s antics and was quickly joking with us all. She wasn’t bossy, but gave great instructions to improve our photos. I just received my daughter’s senior portrait photo cd in the mail today and all the pictures were spectacular. Nicole responded quickly to my emails and answered all my questions perfectly. Nicole is amazing! We bought the Groupon deal and decided to use it to take holiday photos. It took three attempts to take our pics, due to bad weather and APEC traffic. She was awesome in communicating with us during the re-​scheduling. It was definitely worth the wait. Third time was the charm and we got lucky with gorgeous sunny weather.

My niece is visiting the islands for the summer and wanted to get her senior portraits done here. Not having any experience with the photographers on Hawaii, I looked it up on Unilocal.Studio 3511 and Nicole had some really great reviews so I decided to check it out. I liked what I saw on her webpage and wrote Nicole a quick note to see if we could schedule a time. She was extremely quick in answering my email and scheduling a time and place for us to meet was a breeze.
Nicole did such a great job! My niece got her pictures taken on July 12 and we were both nicely surprised to be told that Nicole had already posted up a couple of photos on her facebook page the very next day. They came out so great! I can’t wait to see the whole collection.
We did the one hour package that included two locations and 2 – 3 outfits. It cost a little over 200 dollars, but it was definitely worth it. My niece is very happy with what she’s seen so far. The locations that were chosen were Kahala Beach and Diamond Head Lookout. I said the general neighborhood and Nicole suggested these spots which was so good because she chose some really pretty scenery. :)
We met Nicole at Kahala Beach. I had suggested Waialae Park as our meeting place, but she wrote back that at the intersection of Hunakai and Kahala Ave, there was an entrance to Kahala Beach. She mentioned a tree there that would be interesting for pictures. I am so glad I listened to her. The beach was gorgeous and somewhat deserted (I think there was a total of 8 people there), compared to Ala Moana or Sandy Beach. The scenery was very picturesque and Nicole put my niece at ease. She was very personable and asked my niece what kinds of photos she’d like to take. I told her that her mom had requested that there be palm trees and ocean in some of her pictures to signify that she was in Hawaii (she’s from the mainland) and Nicole made sure to get those taken care of first. Funny thing though while we were there, my dad had noticed that one of the signs had specifically said no booze or dogs allowed on beach. Sitting just a few yards away sat two couples enjoying a glass of wine while their small dog ran around their feet so as you can see rules here are heavily enforced.
After Kahala Beach it was a short drive to Diamond Head Lookout. The pics were at sunset so this setting was perfect because the huge expanse of sky behind my niece was turning a pretty pink. I can’t wait to see these photos as well.
All in all a great experience. I highly recommend Nicole. She was a joy to work with.

We went to Oahu to celebrate our wedding anniversary. On a spur of the moment, I wanted a professional photographer to capture our celebration as a surprise. So I frantically searched for the best photographer on Unilocal.After reading several reviews, I chose Studio 3511. So I contacted Nicole, one day before we arrived in Oahu. I was very surprised she contacted me right away. I gave her an idea of what I wanted and she replied with several choices for backgrounds! Which were very helpful but at the same time difficult to choose. So she suggested, when we’re driving around Oahu, make a note of the places I wanted as a background and go from there… Also, I wanted photos of the beautiful sunset. So we met at the time, day, and place specified. Nicole was there before us, she told me she was scoping out the area for the best shots. We absolutely had a wonderful time. She is patient, funny, knowledgeable, and talented. Also, she was great with our son, he wanted to take more photos after the shoot. The next day Nicole emailed me some of the photos, the photos were magnificent. Not because the photos were of my family but I told her I wanted them to look natural and spontaneous. She captured what I wanted, another satisfied client.

Visiting Hawaii… what a great opportunity to have some family photos taken. Having never been to Hawaii and not having any established relationships with Oahu-​based photographers I turned to Unilocal to help find someone. That someone was Nicole Seu. Nicole’s reviews on Unilocal were stellar and her own website at
is well designed, informative, easy to navigate and most importantly, full of examples of her work.
Communicating via email ahead of our arrival, Nicole and I discussed logistics, settings and our objectives for the photos. When we finally met, it was like connecting with an old friend. She gave us hugs and while we waited for a brief rain squall to pass, we talked about the photo shoot. Never once did we feel like we were «on the clock» and Nicole’s easy going manner really helped to create a relaxed environment that showed up beautifully in the photos.
Over 40 or so minutes, Nicole took over 80 photos. We were in a constant state of movement and rotation in front of the camera – pictures of the family, pictures of the kids, pictures of the adults and so on. Everything was exactly as we had hoped. Relaxed. Fun. Beautiful.

When we were still making arrangements via email, I told Nicole that we wanted the photos to be casual and fun, with a strong balance of the family and beautiful Hawaii. Nicole responded to that goal with a modest warning: «…strong sense of balance between the background and you – yes, very hard to get – so I normally get a few shots with the expansive backdrop and then a bunch of close ups… I still have yet to find a perfect balance…»
It’s a tribute to Nicole’s great talent that, despite her warning, nearly every photo Nicole took achieves the balances we were hoping for. Maybe some of that is thanks to the island paradise that is Hawaii, but clearly Nicole has the eye, the talent and the patience to achieve great results. We couldn’t be more thrilled with our photos and can guarantee that any future tips to Oahu will include future photo sessions with Nicole.

nicole was great and resourceful. however we weren’t able to take photos with her this time because of our irregular schedule and time.

Nicole did a fantastic job capturing my son’s birthday party. She was able to take photos throughout the event without being in the way. She was also able to capture many photos of my son smiling and laughing up a storm. Not an easy thing for a 1 year old. Will definitely use her again.

Family photography is a tricky thing. It can be an ordeal getting everyone to cooperate, let alone look good, for the camera. I have two daughters. Neither will perform on demand. My one-​year-​old was simply not having it that day. My four-​year-​old did better, but she tends to do the fake smile thing all. Still, Nicole managed to produce numerous beautiful shots of the girls alone, together, and with my husband and me. She adjusted her schedule to accommodate the tides at Black Point. The natural environment proved to be an excellent backdrop and the lighting was perfect. We did the shoot in 20 minutes, had a lot of fun, and would up with a CD of beautiful photos, including one for our Christmas card that everyone complimented. It was very «us» — just way better!
