I love my new floors! I had a great experience working with James and Ikaika at Prime Pacific. They installed laminate flooring in my new home. Not to forget they demo the existed tile, carpet, and laminate. The flooring was all uneven everywhere. Prime pacific leveled my whole house and made it right. It’s one thing on getting work done, but getting it done right is another. After the job was done there were very minor issues. They responded and came back right away to fix it. The work that was done was amazing and I am very happy. They are professional and very pleasant to work with.

James and his crew did amazing work refinishing our oak floors in our newly purchased home (built in 1969). James was very accommodating, working around when Lowe’s could install the carpets in the bedrooms, so instead of PPWF working on the living room and hallway floors on Thursday, Friday and Saturday they worked on it Thursday, Friday and Monday. The carpets got installed on Saturday.
When we saw the finished floors we were amazed! James had warned us that the stain at the front door probably wouldn’t come out, but almost all of it came out. I thought we had new floors installed! Everyone who saw the floors before they got refinished were shocked at what they look like now.
Their work is beyond amazing! With that being said, they are busy and we had to wait a few weeks to schedule with them. Hopefully you aren’t on a tight time frame like we were. The sanding is NOT dustless, even with their big shop vac contraption. There was a fine layer of oak dust on the walls, windows, screens, and everywhere so hopefully you don’t have furniture or clothes when the sanding is going on. Scheduling an estimate with James was a little difficult. The first appointment we made he had to cancel because his son got sick and he needed to pick him up from school. But he called two hours before, so I hadn’t left work. No harm, no foul. He left a voicemail saying that he’d try to call the next day (Saturday) to swing by and give us an estimate. I didn’t hear from him, nor did I try to call him since I figured he would be dealing with a sick child. I was a little disappointed that he failed to call though. We scheduled an appointment for the next week. James got lost getting to the house and was running late so he called to let me know.
James answered a bunch of my questions when I first had called him. When I met him for the estimate he answered more questions. He’s very professional and his quote was very reasonable (lowest quote out of the three that I got). Normally I wouldn’t go with the lowest quote because you usually «get what you pay for» but I had a «good feeling» about James from the first phone conversation.
I would highly recommend using Prime Pacific Wood Floors everyone. Awesome job James and crew!

I decided to call James due to all the great Unilocal reviews to install engineered wood flooring in my living room area. Set up was easy. He came to measure my place, gave me ideas/​samples and told me where to go to buy the supplies. They pick up the supplies the day before installation and come to your place ready to install it.
The crew was friendly, patient and professional. They ended up staying three days due to some things out of their control such as my floor being unlevel but worked their butts off to finish on time and do it right.
Labor was pretty fairly priced considering all they had to do. I would highly recommend them to install or refinish your floors.

This review does not have to do with the quality of the work performed by the Company as we did not get that far into the process. Had a meeting set up with James for him to come and provide an estimate (and also stayed home from work to do so) and he did not show up. It seems like his customers seem to be satisfied with his work — it’s too bad that the customer service aspect, in my opinion, was lacking.

Thanks guys! James and his hardworking guys did a wonderful job refinishing my old hardwood flooring in my kitchen, bath and living room. The floors has some termite damage and our dogs did some damage too. I’m happy with the outcome.

Our bamboo floors in our new condo were looking pretty beat up. They came in and gave us a quote. They completed the job quickly and the floors look amazing. Very professional. Great experience.

I was planning to put down a vinyl flooring or a laminate floor in much of my house. I read the Unilocal reviews for several Honolulu flooring companies and decided to call Prime Pacific Wood Floors. James immediately scheduled an appointment to come out and look at the floors. During his first visit, he asked what was under the old carpet and tile. I did not know. With his help, we found old hardwood.
James came back at least 3 more times bring samples and helping me with my various options. The hardware was pretty badly damaged in some places and in okay shape in others. James even brought out a heavy duty sander to see if the badly damaged hardwood could be saved. I was preparing my house to rent and wanted a good quality, durable floor. He recommended vinyl flooring in the kitchen instead of laminate because it would be better with water spills.
James was very patient and brought out many samples and was very helpful. Based on the damage to some of the flooring, James recommended refinishing some of the floor and putting down vinyl floor in the kitchen and dining areas where the hardwood was very damaged.
James estimated a weeks worth of week and provided me a very reasonable quote for the work to be done. With his great Unilocal reviews, I went ahead with a contract.
His crew showed up on time on the first day and promptly to work. They were all professional, friendly, and helpful. I was curious about how things were going and each of his crew took the time to answer questions.
The refinished hardwood looks incredible and the new vinyl looks great. I am so pleased with the floors and with the quality of the workmanship.
I highly recommend Prime Pacific Wood Floors; they go above and beyond to make sure they do an excellent job for you. I cannot say enough about the quality of their work and their customer service.

After reading previous Unilocal reviews we contacted James to get a quote to install laminate in our living room, kitchen, hallway and split level entry stairs (12 stairs). It was easy to set up a time for him to come measure. Decided to go with Prime Pacific after comparing to a few other contractors and we are so happy we did!
Bought our supplies from Home Depot which had everything but stair nosing, risers and baseboards. James said not to worry, he could get additional supplies and try to find a nosing that matched our floor (home depot would have to special order). This to me was going above and beyond. He found a great match and we were able to start the project on time.
My husband and I tore up carpet and ugly wood vinyl only to find even uglier 1970s linoleum underneath! Yay. We did the best we could with the demo to save a few bucks but in the end, we needed some professional help.
Prime Pacific started with leveling our super uneven floor and three days later we had the most gorgeous new flooring completely installed! I could not be more pleased. I am in-​love with my new floors.
These guys are highly skilled, knowledgeable and trustworthy.

PPWF took out our old carpet and laid down parquet flooring, which is an esoteric, vanishing skill because parquet is fiddly.
All went great. The floor looks terrific. We’re pleased with the work. Punctual, clean, headache-​free. Nice.

James and his crew did such a great job on my floors. They were open to my ideas and made the stairs in my home a capturing work of art!!! The cuts are so precise its flawless. I would never use another company when it comes to flooring!!!

James and his team has so far worked on three projects for my mom and me. He installed pergo vinyl floor in entire 2 bedrm/​1 bath apartment, my moms kitchen and the ivc vinyl in 3 bedrooms, hallway, and living room in our Kailua house. He took an excellent job. It looks beautiful! He and his team were prompt, professional and friendly (easy to deal with), and they take pride in their work. I would use them again and it’s a company that would I recommend to my family and friends.

I have original white oak hardwood floors in my home (over 50 years old). They were covered by carpet and tack strips. While we were able to replace most of the termite damaged and rotten planks, we still needed to get the floors sanded, holes filled, and finished. James was punctual at all our meetings and provided a reasonable quote and within a reasonable time frame. I was very happy with his and his team’s work. My floors are more beautiful than I ever imagined. I am glad that I was able to salvage the floors in the majority of my home, when many people say it’s too much work to repair and refinish and it’s easier to put down laminate. If you can save your original hardwood floors, do it! And James is down-​to-​earth and so easy to work with. I would definitely recommend him to my friends and family.
