Hawaii Hardwood Flooring is licensed statewide in Hawaii to perform residential, commercial and custom flooring. We also offer wholesale products for our customer’s convenience.

We manage every project closely from start to finish in an effort to provide you with total customer satisfaction. Our goal is to ensure excellent service and the best quality workmanship for every job.

Established in 1989.

The owner Chris Brenna has been doing hardwood floors for 27 years. Working for other flooring businesses He realized there wasnt alot of hardwod snad and finishers so when the dustless machines were starting to evolve He wanted to be one of the first companys to offer dustless sanding because, always the complaints he heard from clients were how much dust there was once the job was done which ruined the happiness of the client, Than to further our service he added a cleaning service to catch the little dust left over hawaii hardwood flooring specializes in Dustless sand and finish of solid and eng unfinished floors also refinishing of existing hardwood floors. Installation of prefinish and unfinish floors. We do big and small projects. Free estimates and consultation. The owner Chris Brenna is always available. Whats sets us apart from others is our 2 year labor warranty, cleaning service, moving service, 4 coats of finish.

Born and raised east coast. grew up working with wood and other construction materials since I was 10 I learned the value of working hard and how to treat people and how to make them happy. One thing I learned and bring to my business is try and do what you say. Over the years I have worked with alot of different hardwood jurneyman and took in all there good tricks of the trade and perfected a skill that no one can top. I was referred to them by a friend and trusting them was a big mistake. Chris (the owner) couldn’t meet my deadline because they couldn’t find the right glue that were up to my condos standards. I ended up losing an additional $ 3000 in rent because I had to extend my lease in my other unit. My wife is super anal about contractors using our toilets so I taped everything off. Our condo has restrooms on the 6^th floor and despite signing a contract to not touch or use anything in our unit, they ripped off the tape and pissed all over my toilet! I ended up canceling the job and then he tried to charge me $ 225 extra! In the end I payed $ 1151.83 to have my wood delivered and carpet removed…

Avoid this company at all costs. A two week job took three months. Chris claims to be a general contractor but never visits the job site. HIs workers came to the job but worked less than an hour a day. They were incompetent. Every task they did was wrong. They did not clean up at the end of the day. I ended up paying subcontractors thousands of $$$$ to correct errors. Not to mention three months of filth that was never cleaned up by the workers. Hawaii Hardwood Flooring should be reported to the licensing board.
Don’t waste your time and money with this company.

Don’t waste your time and money with these guys.
Val, who passed himself off as a project manager when has no experience as such tried to renovate my mother’s condo. The entire project should have been done in 2 – 3 months, but it took 9 to get everything finalized. HHF cannot even install floors correctly (according to the other review), and they are incompetent acting as a general contractor as well. Two months into the job, Val decided not to return phone calls for at least a month. They even tried to bill us for over 800 sf of tile when about 600 was installed. We called and emailed many times with little response, only when I threatened to go to the BBB or Contractor’s licensing board did I get replys to my emails.
When we negotiated final payment, Val actually had the nerve to challenge me to a fight in the HHF showroom, right in front of my mother. Bottom line, he’s a thug with no professional ethics.
Chris, the owner, seems to condone his employee. I guess until Val actually fights someone on the showroom floor and the lawsuits start flying.

First impression was very good. Val the sales person provided a friendly and competent service.
Got a pretty good quote for a hardwood floor in our new house.
The wood was ordered (and paid for) very quickly.
from there it was all downhill!
just before the hardwood was supposed to get delivered I got an «updated» quote with a change order (an increase of about 20% on the entire order). Apparently the admin had made a mistake and the labor of the installation more than doubled in price.
took me a while to get hold of Val. He just said there is nothing he can do either I take it or find another installer. after some back and forth (for a couple of days) I got to talk to Chris the CEO and was able to negotiate a deal where the increase was split half way (sharing the pain for their mistake).
then the «begging» for the wood delivery started. the first three days the wood was supposed to be delivered, unfortunately the truck broke down. finally the wood arrived about a week late. then I was tole the installation would start Monday (it was Tuesday). On Wednesday I got a call that the installation would start the next day. (hardwood needs some acclimatization time of at least three days!)
Ok, so Chris showed up on Thursday morning only to tell me I got the wrong plywood installed. apparently it was too moist. with a meter he showed me that my wood walls were at 14% and my plywood was at 48%. naïve as I was I accepted these facts and asked what he suggest. putting in dehumidifier and wait at least a month was his answer. After he left I started calling my contractor and his supplier of the plywood. Both couldn’t believe it and said there must be a mistake. The supplier instantly agreed to send somebody to come and measure the plywood. And sure enough the plywood was 14% when he measured. (I wonder how Chris did it with his meter).
now I’m actively looking for another installer that can do it nextweek…
