Just ordered orange chicken and once I bit into it, it wasn’t fully cooked! It was raw!!! Whoever was the cook did a very horrible job in cooking!

I’ve actually been here a few times but forgot to write a review. I don’t go here by choice it’s always because my kids want their Orange Chicken. I can’t complain because by now I have it down to a science. I can feed all 3 of us for under 10 $. How is that possible?!? I always get the 3 entrée meal and for the starch I get half and half, so fried rice and vegetables. Then I get Orange Chicken, Ginger Fish, string beans and chicken. I usually have a redemption code from the receipt from the last time I was there which gives me the 3rd entrée item FREE! So back to the rating, actually the food at panda is usually pretty good and consistent it’s also a convenient place to pick up pans to take to potlucks and parties. The Kamehameha shopping center is actually new and clean and has a modern look to it and it has a full Tea bar which is awesome but the teas are pricey and will tack on an additional 3 – 5 $ to your bill. My only issue is the inconsistency of customer service, sometimes they are over board and try to shuffle you down the line like cattle with prods too quickly. I know exactly what I want and ordered it… I then asked her can I try a piece of the steak entrée because I might get it next time… I was totally ignored and my plate was handed directly to the cashier and she told me you go pay now! LOL I just shook my head and paid because I’m not going to make a big deal out of it but sometimes it’s in the details, like listening to your customers. Oh well no problem I’ll be back I’m sure as soon as my boys are craving orange chicken! I’ll try again to get to try something else.

Remarkable customer service! Well… Literally. The Girl(didn’t get her name, probably thot or whatever) working in the front on Sunday 12÷27÷15 around noon was utterly disgusting. Made side remarks with a coworker about how my mother and I was ordering. Mind you, we were the only ones in line and we just pointed at the choices we wanted rather than saying the whole entre name. I’ve done it at the ala Moana, King St. and Nimitz location with no problem, how can the culture of this location be so different? When my mother pointed at the selection she wanted, this girl said«which one? I can’t see which one you’re pointing at?» Not once not twice but three times! Cmon I’m sure everyone does it but if you have enough customer service skill, your approach should be to name the entrée in that vicinity we’re pointing at to confirm. And then she proceeded to speak with a coworker and make side remarks about our ordering method. To which I look and glared and almost made a scene. But her remarks only went that far before my boiling point. Luckily my mother didn’t realize the situation and was having a great day hanging out with his favorite son. My suggestion to this great injustice is that this disgusting girl needs to be retrained to respect customers and most especially elders. Perhaps management needs to put her in the back as to not tarnish Panda Express’s image and reduce stock value or make her clean the bathroom to match her personality. But the food was delicious! Hence 1 star

When Im with friends we dine in to eat food inside panda express at kam shopping center. The only thing what bothers me is the smell of food would stay in my clothes once I’m done eating after lol! But when Im with my family, We always do take out, and we just feel comfortable eating it at our home, for some reason, i don’t know… I usually do 3 choices order with half and half… And OH! The place has Free Wifi Internet access! How cool is that y’all? I like the environment. It’s relaxing! Modern, and the color of the background is current. Restroom is very clean! Thank you for maintaining the cleanliness inside. I always observe that your guys staffs would also clean outside and the windows, and everywhere all the time. Very neat thats why. Spick and Span Panda Express Kalihi! :D

I like the feel of this Panda Express even though it can get very busy. There seating is pretty comfortable and you can sit inside or outside which is nice. Tonight it wasn’t too busy. Today this Panda Express made up for the last fiasco I had here. The young man doing the front end serving was very nice and accommodating. The brown rice was barely getting its cook on so he offered me veggies. I, gasped because those little bushes called broccoli were present and dominating the dish. I’m not a fan of broccoli and told him and he offered to have the cooks blanch some without the broccoli. I was a happy camper and ordered veggies and rice. My entrees were black pepper chicken and teriyaki chicken. They were rather fresh and tasty. I finished most of my veggies and rice and made a good dent in the chicken, but let’s just say tomorrow people will be hating on me for lunch. I’m glad that this was a far better experience than a few weeks ago. I am glad I let people and places redeem themselves and they have. I’ll definitely be coming back and hope to get the same level of customer service and quality of food.

As long as you don’t come in here expecting Chinese food, then you can enjoy what they’re serving up. Seriously, the most Chinese thing in every Panda location is one of the workers. Every once in a while I’ll get an urge to eat orange chicken, and despite being further away from home than the King St. location this is the one I’ll go to. The workers seem to give a little more food than the other locations, there’s ample parking, and they often end up cooking food to order which is worth the extra one or two minute wait. This location also has a tea bar. The milk tea is pretty good here, and they have a fairly good selection including honeydew and winter melon.

So sad, today I came in with my boyfriend and was such a unpleasant experience. 1. I got the chow fun noodles, and it was tasteless brown mush. Boo. 2. The girl that packed the order gave is 1 napkin, 1 fortune cookie and 1 fork, for TWO people. Very boo. Are they trying to cut back costs? I didn’t think that Panda’s would be an establishment I had to double check everything, like McDonald’s. :/ 3. I really like this Panda’s location :(Now I’m iffy. The guy who prepared our order was super nice though. But the girl who rang us up lacked. She didn’t ask if we wanted anything to drink…

This review is entirely about the food at this restaurant. I came here expecting the same food I’ve had at other Panda restaurants. My past experiences have been good. Not great but good. This one managed to disappointment me entirely. I came in the evening and much of the selections were gone. So I felt I was put on the spot when the clerk asked me what my selections were before I could even get around to seeing the selections. I was in line so I couldn’t just jump ahead and see what limited selections they had and to make matters worse the vantage point did not allow one to actually see the food except for tithe ones immediately in front. I guess you’re supposed to go to the other side and look and then go in line. That’s not how it works in most places I’ve gone to. I ordered the orange chicken and beef broccoli. The starch I chose was the chow mein. The chicken was not good at all. I’ve had way better at Chun Wah Kam. At least theirs was tangy and sweet. Panda’s was just not good at all. I’ve had the frozen variety from Costco that was way better than this. The beef broccoli was not good either. The beef tasted off. It didn’t have the texture when you go to an authentic Chinese restaurant. It also didn’t taste like the beef in homemade beef broccoli so it missed on both ends of the spectrum. It was downright the worst beef broccoli I’ve ever had. The chow mein was not very good either. It was devoid of fresh vibrant flavor. There were no deep greens or even much meat in it. I know it’s just starch but this chow mein is the below average variety. I’ve had better from lunch wagons! The restaurant does look nice with its modern décor and TV monitors to enjoy shows in text silent mode. I think o saw like two or three monitors. Really nice. But it feels cramped and the not so relaxing with all tables being in tight quarters. There is an outdoor table but that overlooks a parking structure. I guess it is better than no outdoor option for those who are claustrophobic. I hate to give a negative review as this business is owned and manned by fellow local folks. But I have to be honest in my review or otherwise I have no business writing one. Obviously a lot was spent on the décor and not enough was spent on acquiring a good Chinese cuisine chef. If it was a chef that made this food, I highly question his skills. I understand that it could simply be food prepared by a cook with limited experience in the art of Chinese cooking. Sorry, this just didn’t cut the cheese for me.

This Panda Express is quite possibly the most beautiful restaurant in all of Kalihi. Which could be interpreted as calling it «the cream of the crap», but it is quite nice. It’s all clean and high-ceilinged. And has words etched into the wood. The workers are usually friendly, the servings are usually generous, and there is a lot of seating. There is also a tea bar if you’re into that and a restroom if you’re into that. I’m not into tea but I am definitely into restrooms. My children love orange chicken. Who doesn’t love orange chicken? It is practically an official food of Hawaii. I have, however, recently replaced their precious orange chicken with the teri chicken breast as it makes me feel like less of a mothering failure. I am now going to admit that I am a recovering Chinese Spare-Rib-a-holic. I had a brief but intense affair with those little costly things that taste nothing of char siu but of everything I need. I could feel them beckoning to me daily from two blocks away. I would buy them while my husband was at work and attempt to hide the evidence but alas, I was found out and cruelly cut off. Mostly because of the fortune I was spending on Chinese fast food. Anyhow. Once I complete the twelve-step program I will return. But not every single day because I am an adult and in control of myself Yes.

I enjoy Panda Express. I say that knowing full well this is not *real* chinese food. I love the beijing beef, chicken and mushrooms, chicken with green beans, and and the spicy eggplant with tofu. I love that there are so many veggie options. I also love the orange chicken and the steamed fish. I am not, however, a fan of their egg rolls or spring rolls, which I find to be soggy and mushy. One of the things I really like about Panda Express is that you can choose not to have a starch. I can’t think of another place that offers you steamed veggies instead of fried rice, chow fun or chow mein noodles. Having the steamed veggies substitute costs extra but its worth it. It simply costs more to eat healthier. Recently, I have discovered their milk tea bar. Danger Danger Will Robinson! While I love dairy, dairy doesn’t love me so I especially appreciate that they have some almond milk teas. My favorite teas right now are the almond milk green tea, and the almond milk oolong. I didn’t care for the Thai Tea — it had a strange taste to me. I love that they put in a complimentary fortune cookie! I always look forward to the reward at the end of the meal. This location is clean, friendly and efficient. Definitely will come here again!

I love pandas whenever I feel I’m in a mood for some Chinese food. Well Americanized version of chinese food that is. I don’t really like to eat anything heavy in general especially when eating these type of hearty foods. So I usually just get the panda bowl which include 1 starch and 1 food choice. I’ve tried a lot of these items before but I love the mushroom chicken the best. Maybe because I’m a little health conscious that it seems to be one of the more healthier ones on the food menu. I usually top it off with brown rice for a healthier choice option. This pandas location open last year I believe so it’s a fairly new location. The inside décor is modernized and it’s one of the nicer pandas I’ve been to. There’s a good amount of tables and chairs to enjoy your meal. There’s tv as well for your entertainment. I’ve never sat inside since I always get take out and never had a problem with their service. Quick and on the go type of food is what sums this place up. I like that they had a panda bar that offers a wide variety of drinks such as teas, bobas, tea jelly. There was a catchy sign that I saw that made me want to try it but I didn’t have it in my stomach at that time to try it then but it made me want to go back and try it. This place is convenient for me as I live nearby so it’ll probably be a place for me to stop by whenever I’m craving for pandas.

First off I would like to say this pandas is REALLYNICE. I do not like giving low ratings but I couldn’t believe today. My first time here To this pandas i really liked it, usually you would think the staff would be friendly. To me they seemed to be rushing things. My friend and I were in line I ordered 3 panda bowls 1 with mixed vegetables orange chicken, 1 with fried rice and orange chicken and the last with chowfun and sweet fire, anyway she tells me I have to wait for the chow fun 10 min or so which is not a problem so I do. Once we get our food, I notice that the panda bowl with mixed veggies which was mine, only had a few vegetables and the rest was chowfun! I didn’t know why, now you must think«oh well they pack it in front of you why weren’t you paying attention!» THIS is why! My friends son who is a toddler was throwing up! Might I add on the floor, we were too busy noticing that and the workers looked at it and did NOTHING, my friend cleaned it up, and the lady besides us helped as well, THE workers looked at them and did NOTHING. My friend even went up to the counter to ask for paper towels and the girl tried to give her more napkins. Talk about cleanliness. Way to go pandas staff, next time something like that happens you should do something about it. Help at least. But my friend ended up doing a better job then what they probably woulda done. On a positive note though the bathroom was really clean and smelt good lol.

Unilocal 365 Challenge 2015 #21/365 Funny story about this review: Last night, I was writing it on my phone, on a plane, in airplane mode, and instinctively tried to save it, knowing that I couldn’t post it on the plane, but because it was in airplane mode, it was just deleted altogether… So now I’m rewriting it from scratch! I’ve always had a soft spot for Panda’s. It’s tasty Chinese food and ready right when you want it. I do also enjoy the fact that they include a free fortune cookie with every plate! I was glad to hear that Panda’s was opening a new location in Kamehameha Shopping Center, even though I don’t work for the Longs there anymore. When Rachel and I decided to get lunch, I was able to finally get my Panda’s fix. Walking in, I was impressed by the décor and modernization of this Panda’s location. I remember a long time ago when Panda’s was old fashioned, and unattractive to me, but it isn’t the same these days. The worker greeted me, and didn’t rush me while I was trying to make my decision, which was a bit of a refresher. Throughout the whole process, the two girls that helped me were polite, knowledgeable, and provided good service. My plate consisted of half mixed veggies & chow fun, with Beijing beef(my favorite!) & orange chicken. As per usual with food from Panda Express, it was great. Nothing to really complain about, as although the meats were covered in sauce, they were still very, very tasty. I also noticed that Panda’s has started making specialty drinks, such as milk tea and lava flows(non-alcoholic), which is an interesting and smart move in my opinion. Maybe next time I’ll try one of those. All in all, if you’re looking for a quick, chinese fast-food lunch, then you can’t really go wrong with Panda Express.

I secretly LOVE Panda Express. My friends tease me saying it’s not real Chinese Food, I know that, but it’s comfort food! This location is brand new! TV screen menus, a tea bar, everything is clean and shiny! I didn’t try any teas, but thought it was so cool. I regret not trying one. I got my usual. Kid’s meal with chow fun and chicken and string beans. I was sad to see there was just enough chicken and string beans for my order. I was thinking great, I get the leftovers… but they asked me if I would like to wait for a new batch! I was so excited! Yes! Of course I’ll wait! No one has ever asked me that, and I’m not one to impose. The wait was so worth it! A fresh hot entrée! Yum! I actually had to wait for it to cool down. My meal is $ 6 now, I don’t know if there was a price increase for all Panda’s or just this one. I did try their Kung Pow Chicken, it was yummy, but I was craving old faithful. The staff was so nice to offer me that, and just generally friendly. More than I expected. As I ate I watched them interact with various customers and they were continually nice. Offering fresh batches of food, smiling, saying thank you like they mean it, telling customers goodbye, and cleaning. This may seem like normal standards, but in a fast food place like Panda? I don’t usually expect so much. I was so impressed that I had to tell the staff that they are doing a great job. I can’t give 5 stars, because well this isn’t fancy dining, and the food is standard panda. However, this has become my NEW favorite Panda. I love that I can see them making the food, and see that their facilities look clean. Staff is great and love the new diggs! I don’t usually go to Kam Shopping Center often, but I think I’ll have to go a little more often to eat at my favorite Panda Express!

back again… kind of a go-to for us. Late lunch. Honestly, if I just ‘need to eat,’ the goal is very Paleo-driven in general. I got steamed veggies and teriyaki chicken with no sauce poured over. I’m a happy girl. May not be the cleanest form of protein/veggies, but it’s clean enough for me today :)

I like to call this place Fancy Panda. Why? Because it’s a Panda Express with cool designs on the wall and they even have a tea bar. Yup, a tea bar where you an a tea like you want it… not so sweet with aloe and rainbow jelly. Oh wait, that’s how I like mine! This place is located in Kam Shopping Center. The staff is friendly and the food is what you would expect from Panda Express. It’s great that you can get tea here. The tea was good as can be expected from a food chain kinda of place like this. And it’s reasonable, $ 2.50-$ 4.30 for the drink and you can add things like boba or jelly for $ 0.50 additional each. I think it’s great that they incorporated this concept. I hope all Pandas will end up being Fancy Pandas.

FINALLY, a Panda’s Express in Kalihi! Having the fact that I work in the shopping center, I was filled with excitement when we got the news that they were opening up a Panda’s here! The first time I went in, I was quite surprised seeing how big the place was, and seeing what they did with it, knowing the fact that it used to be Jeans Warehouse and it was SO small in there! My first thoughts were, ‘Wow…Kalihi steppin’ up!’ hahaha. Being a new store that just opened up, there are times where the line is out the door so avoid going during lunch, after school and dinner time. They serve the same things like any other Panda’s but what’s different is that they have a TEABAR! Suuuuper exciting! The only downfall is the fact that not all employees are trained to do the tea bar, so there are times where you have to wait fro your order cause they have to call someone who does. There’s an older asian lady who does the tea bar who’s the sweetest thing. Everytime she’s working and I order something from their tea bar, she always has me taste it to make sure I like it. which I appreciate her doing! Even during their down time, the wait still could be awhile cause there’s so many of them packing the food but just one person running the register. The workers here are nice, and some of them give generous portions which I enjoy!

Raise your hand if you thought that this place actually served pandas when you were a kid. Okay, I see a thousand hands. And don’t deny that you weren’t one of ‘em. Fortunately for the WWF, this place is just a popular Chinese chain restaurant. The only panda you’ll see is the occasional employee dressed as a mascot patrolling the premises. Opened about 2 weeks ago, this fast food restaurant is a nice addition to the busy shopping center.(Also being employed at this shopping center and eating at the same old restaurants here can get a little boring. It was time for a change!) We came here on a Wednesday afternoon around 2pm and there was a line that led out the door. Typical though– new place, different food, school just ended, free Wifi. Those were just some of the many reasons why the restaurant was bustling with people. The line did move quickly though and when it was our turn, we decided on a 2 entrée plate of orange chicken and a sweet chili chicken of some sort. Sampled the orange chicken with bacon(new dish) and it tasted a little dry as if there was no sauce on it. Most of the dishes boast of a low caloric serving(if you consider ~250 calories low.) The noodles and fried rice we ordered were also a little bland. Perhaps this is the healthier way of cooking? Or perhaps someone ran out of salt? Either way it was okay to me because I kept convincing myself I was eating health… ier than a fatty juicy burger. However, there was still the small thought in the back of my mind that this was fast food after all. Oh what the heck, it’s still summer. Summer beach body hayyyy. Our two entrees were good as I like anything sweet and sour. The orange chicken didn’t have as much sauce as I thought it would, but it was still enjoyable. If I were to come here again, I’d try the Beijing beef which looked really delicious. What fascinated me the most was the tea bar! The menu consists of fruit teas, milk teas, lemonades, and ice-blended drinks. We ordered a passion fruit ice tea and a mangolicious freeze. The cashier who assisted me had to ask the barista if the flavors were available because some are sold out or unavailable, but you won’t know until you order. She asked if we wanted boba and I said yes, but when we got our drinks, neither of them had boba :(Normally I’m not one to complain, so I moped around for five seconds, but the drinks were really good without the boba, too. Service was great and efficient for the line that was present. The employees are courteous and don’t rush you while you choose your entrees. The communication between barista and cashier needs to be a little better or there should be signs indicating which types of drinks are unavailable that day. Overall, I liked the bright atmosphere and decorations and the taste of new kinds of food in the shopping center.
