If you’ve never had a Queen Emma cake at The Makiki Bake Shop, you must! This is far better than the Rainbow Cake at DeeLite and more reasonably priced. It has the best lilikoi and guava frosting swirled on the top and is to die for! The owners Eileen and Charlie are great people too and very accommodating! Of course their biscuits is an automatic thumbs up! Ask Eileen to create her signature biscuit with a rum syrup… yummmmmm! :)

Instead of mac nuts or coffee, I took a couple bags of Makiki Bake Shop biscuits on the plane back to the mainland. BISCUITS: Get them here instead of the supermarket for the freshest selection. Generally come in a bag of four. Best biscuits I’ve had in Hawaii. Likely at or near the top of the list overall, too. Frankly, even the discounted«reject» biscuits(usually because they are misshapen) are just as good. Lightly toasted biscuit with jelly was pretty much how I started my mornings in Hawaii the entire time I was there. Making these biscuits last as long as possible(they freeze well), but it’s tough for the panda to resist. BUTTERMOCHI: Another well-executed treat. Lovely golden brown color on the outside, chewy and sweet. Guess I know where I’m returning to in the future!

WORST«PIANOMO» EVER! Can’t even compare from Jesse’s Bakery or Golden Coin. VERYDRY and NOT sliced! I will not buy it anymore. Based on this Pianomo bread only you get 1 star for trying.

Buying the biscuits here assures you freshness, vs. buying them at the market. Got two bags for $ 6. One was a bag of biscuits that were slightly off in shape & size, but only $ 2 for five pcs. Cheap! Love to eat them toasted with butter & honey. Mmm!

They are a small hole in the wall bakery. pretty good cakes tried their queen Emma had lilikoi, guava and coconut flake. But I am a plain chocolate guy so the chocolate dobash did it for me. That and about a gallon of milk. You can walkin and see what they got. But you be better off calling and ordering cake before you get there more garins.

One of those little bake shops that sells to places like Longs, Times and stuff where you don’t normally go to itself. Going through the front doors is interesting as it is a small bake shop most of the items aren’t especially to rave about pretty much standard fare. but I do like the Long Johns and the apple fritter thingies most people who go there work nearby it seems. prices are average.
