I went to Saint-Germain to order a birthday cake for my friend. I ordered an oblong dream cake. I went about a week ahead of her birthday haha. I think it was $ 11.95. They charged me $ 2 for writing so I figured it would be beautiful. But when we got it, the writing was uneven and in different sizes. It looked like it was rushed and as if they tried to squeeze in some letters. It wasn’t that big of a deal to me, but for someone else, it might be. However, my friend did enjoy the cake and said it was very delicious so that’s good. It’s what on the inside that counts! I’ll still go to this neighborhood bakery no matter what because they are so yummy!

Convenient locations throughout to get the Japanese style of white bread. Prefer the bread at Brug but its one location makes it difficult to find the time to go there.

Saint-Germain Bakery has been around forever. It’s a higher-end bakery with some great quality items. My friend and I decided to go to this place after dinner, because he wanted something sweet to eat and knew that they had end-of-day markdowns. SCORE! We found several mix-and-match bags of leftover items for sale. Prices are about 40−50% cheaper at the end of the day. We ended up getting some donuts. The ladies behind the counter weren’t the friendliest. They seemed to be more interested in preparing the shop for the next day, rather than to hel us check out. Not a big problem as we all have our jobs to do! Food Grade: B+ Service Grade: B– Worth the Money grade: B Overall Impression Grade: B

Love the bakery and its friendly services but it would be most appreciated if they could update their contact number

Saint-Germain Bakery is a easy stop to pick up pastries. They have donuts and danishes, dense muffins, and savory options – though all their savory options have a hint of sweetness – like quiche, ham rolls, and tomato bread. Overall the pastries are just okay. The fillings or toppings are skimpy so most items are just bread-y carbs. You can also head to Saint-Germain for cakes. Their Rainbow, Strawberry Shortcake, and Guava Chiffon are crowd favorites. Not a bad choice to pick up pastries or a birthday cake for work. And if you want to save money, wait until close to closing for discounts on leftover pastries.

Great neighborhood bakery offering fresh pastries, breads, cookies, and cakes! The location of this bakery is great — it’s right on S. Beretania street between Keeaumoku and Piikoi, in the same parking lot as Grace’s Inn and Times. Lots of parking for patrons of all businesses on this property(there is also a dry cleaning place and a Chinese take out place that I have yet to try). Their pastries are made fresh daily and although they are smaller and pricier than some of the other bakeries in town, they are better-tasting. If you know me well, you’ll know that I’m a fan of cinnamon danishes, and their version does not disappoint. I mainly come here for their pullman style bread. It’s $ 5 for a half loaf, which is expensive, but the bread, including the crust, is as soft as a pillow. They also have a good selection of cakes in varying shapes and flavors — square, oblong, and round, lilikoi, guava, coconut, and their infamous rainbow cake. Buy off the shelf or pre-order.

My wife came back from this bakery day before Thanksgiving with a $ 14 pumpkin pie!!! Outrageous! Price gouging??? Wonder what everyday price is?

Going to Saint-Germain brings back a lot of childhood memories. We would almost always stop in here after school to pick up some of their signature raising bread sticks. Unfortunately when I went today they were out of those, but they always have an incredibly large selection of options including both sweet and savory pastries. My brother swears by their custard pie so I’ll definitely have to come back and give it a try, but today I picked up a ham/cheese croissant, a butter roll and a loaf of cinnamon apple bread. All of these were decent but none of them blew me away. Overall, Saint-Germain is a reliable bakery with tons of options and lots of locations. They are consistent, but not amazing so to me they are«A-OK».

Came across this shop while visiting Waikiki. Walked inside to get a bite to eat. After selecting a few items I waited in line to make the payment. I observed that the people at the register were allowing Japanese speaking customers to pay for their items ahead of others even though they were at the back of the line. When I complained to the people at the register, they ignored me. When my turn came I asked why they did not service the customers who were ahead in line, they said they want to help the Japanese since they are good for business and buy more than the locals. I returned the items on my track untouched and walked out never to return ever again !

For Ala Moana store, specifically their Haupia cake, the only cake we love. The family has agreed, St Germain’s at Ala Moana Center was our favorite. Moist, coco nutty deliciousness. Order 24 hours ahead :-P

Went this morning for a few pastries. When I got to the counter, I noticed the custard roll had what looked like a hair in the custard. I mentioned it to the girl and she said it was just from the brush. What brush? It’s IN the custard. I told her I didn’t want it and she made me PUTITBACK! Then on top of everything, I was charged for a pizza pepperoni instead of a ham croissant! I know a 35 cent difference isn’t a big deal, but after everything else? Don’t think I’ll ever be back!

5 stars for their delicious cakes! I have had probably one of every cake that they sell here. For the whole cakes, they make a delicious Oreo cake! And for the individual slices, I love their cheesecake or fresh fruit cakes. Not too expensive, my only gripe is I wish they had better coffee. Oh yes, and they have a lot of cream cheese filled pastries! Yesssss!

A pretty decent Saint-Germain if you’re in the area looking for a tasty treat. I grabbed an éclair, french puffed thing, cheese danish, almond croissant, and a butter flake doughnut. Not too shabby.

This review is strictly for the WAIKIKILOCATION on Kuhio Avenue. The people don’t smile, they don’t have good customer service, and the owners look suspicious, tired, and unhappy. Get out of the business if you’re unhappy because you treat the customers terribly!!! Soon you won’t have any customers!!! The pastries are good, as are the sandwiches, but the bad service is off-putting and sad. If they don’t want to be there, be somewhere else, but don’t treat the customers badly!

Delicious pastries but doesn’t have that SUPERFRESH taste you get from a mom and pop shop. I would recommend the custard creamhorn, that was nice and flaky. Some of their savory things can taste a little gross when it’s been sitting out for too long. They make a meaaaaan apple pie.

Stick donuts, onion rolls, raisin bread sticks, fresh breads, curry rolls, quiche, cookies, palm leaf, cakes, pastry, donuts, pies… The list goes on! I love how there is always parking, given that the parking lot is shared with Times a few other small businesses on that property. Once you enter there is a lovely smell of breads and sweets.(Did I mention I love bread?) Everything is fresh and my favorite part about this bakery is that towards the end of the night they pre-package their baked goods and sell them at a discount price and its perfect for the next days breakfast. Nothing wrong with a day old baked good for breakfast. I love their pies especially their pumpkin custard during the holidays and I love the fact that they can make custom cakes for any occasion. I cannot live without their stick donuts… And with that being said I will be heading there for a discount bag of Ham rolls and stick donuts as soon as I am done writing this review ;) If they still have some stick donuts…

Came here on New Year’s Day after Liliha Bakery was closed. Even with it being New Year’s Day, they still had a variety of baked goods and cakes. We came in looking for a rainbow cake but there were none out so my mom and I settled on a chantilly cake and dream cake. Right as we were about to pay, a baker brought out a rainbow cake and we quickly put the other two cakes away. I also wanted a strawberry shortcake to snack on. The strawberry shortcake was a little dry and not enough strawberries on the inside but it was still pretty good. The rainbow cake is never a let down. It’s ALWAYS delish! The workers that were working were amazingly kind and helpful.

Saint-Germain Bakery on Beretania Street shares it parking lot with Times Supermarket so there is usually no problem in finding parking easily. This is my mom’s favorite, and pretty much the only place that she buys pumpkin or custard pie so it must be good since it’s about twice the price as other places.
