Meet the Business Owner

Daynin D.

Business Owner

Born and raised in Hawaii, Daynin has been training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since the beginning of 2001. She started her training under Jason Izzaguirre for 6 years at Gracie Kailua. After moving to Kahala, she transferred to Hawaii Kai Jiu Jitsu as a purple belt and trained under Ron Huxen for the last 7 years before opening Kahala Jiu Jitsu, the first ever female-owned Jiu Jitsu and Self Defense school in Hawaii. Daynin has competed in various tournaments over the years and have won first place in many of them to include winning all 3 divisions (Women’s Gi, Women’s No-Gi and The Women’s Absolute Championship) in the 2009 NAGA (National American Grappler’s Association) Tournament and first and second place medals at the Worlds Masters Tournament in 2014 in Long Beach, CA. Daynin is currently a two-stripe Brown Belt and aspires to build a school where people can learn the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as a WAY OF LIFE, not a way to Fight.
