Great facility and top notch instruction. I really enjoy the kids class instructor Matt. He is very patient with the kids and gives high level instruction while keeping the class fun for the kids. My 5yr old and 7yr old had so much fun attending the class.

My nine year old daughter wanted to get involved with martal arts, so I picked this gym as it was recommended by Unilocalers, had a schedule that matched ours, and was family-​friendly. Worked with Matt who was professional and did a lot of follow up. They offered a free trial class to see if we would like it, which I appreciated, and we ended up choosing a month-​to-​month plan. For the age group, it is mainly about an introduction to BJJ with focus on fitness and keeping things fun and light. So far, the teachers and students have been welcoming, my daughter has been enthusiastic about the class and enjoys showing the new things she learns, so I’m satisfied overall.

This review is for the Jiu-​Jitsu classes. The Muay Thai classes seem very good as well, but I didn’t attend any myself.
I didn’t train long at Technics because of moving off island, but the gym is clean and very welcoming to newcomers of all skill level. Even better, it’s quickly apparent that Rylan and his assistant instructors are not only passionate and knowledgeable in Jiu-​Jitsu, but are fantastic at teaching and seem to genuinely care about their students experience.
Their gym fees seem standard for the area, and they don’t try to nickel and dime you with fees or uniform requirements.

If I could give a 6 star I would… Great and friendly place… They have all type of classes kids, adults and even Muay Thai. Professor is also the ufc coach for a few professional UFC fighters. No one has egos here at this gym, unlike at some other places.

Are you looking for a place to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu? Kick boxing? MMA? or do you just want to get into shape? well Gracie Technics has it all for whatever you are into. I personally am learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) from one of the best professors in the business, Rylan Lizares. Let me tell you, this guy is LEGIT, if you had any doubts. He is not only a certified bad ass but he is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet.
The atmosphere can be intimidating for new comers but don’t hesitate to drop in to say Hi. You will soon find that ego’s are left at the door and everyone is respectful to one another. Learning BJJ has never been easier with the step by step breakdown method professor Lizares teaches with. It actually makes it fun!
So, if you want to try your hand at learning something new or a seasoned martial artist looking to up your game, Drop in at Gracie Technics you won’t regret it. I never have.
BTW, two UFC fighters train there and countless famous fighters drop in while visiting the island… Just saying!

For those wanting to learn in a safe, open, clean, family-​environment, GT is the place to be. Learning all the aspect of Jiu-​JItsu: street self-​defense, basics, advanced, competition, gi, no-​gi, and the lifestyle, GT offers its members a vast knowledge across the spectrum of Brazilian Jiu-​JItsu. Changing room, showers, and now an added facility for a weight room with olympic weights, bumper plates, a crossfit cage, and a wrestling area with punching bags, GT has now expanded their program with a pro MMA, kickboxing, and fitness classes.
GT offers the community with kids classes and women’s classes; morning, mid-​day, and night operations, 6 – 7 days a week. The people there are great to work with, I never feel embarrassed of asking a question, or scared to approach anyone of their pro MMA stars for an autograph or picture. No drama, and everyone their cares about your progression because it ultimately benefits their progression as well.
