Ala Moana Hotel

I didn’t want to have to write this review but I emailed Ala Moana 3 days ago and I completed their survey with my comments and they have not tried to contact me at all.
We stayed there 3 nights, 6÷9−6÷12÷16. We tried to check in at 12 because our 2 & 3 year old daughters were tired but the front desk told us our room wasn’t ready without checking the computer. She said we would have to come back at 3. I asked her if someone could call me when it was ready and she begrudgingly took my number down.
We didn’t receive any calls from the hotel but returned to check in at 4. After commenting to the man that we asked to be called, he said that he would never tell a customer that they would call because that’s just going way too «above and beyond.»
Both instances at the front desk left us feeling like the customer service was horrible.
At the room, they only provided 2 bath towels even though when you reserve the room they require you to list the number of people staying in the room. We requested more towels the 1^st night. When they cleaned the room, they didn’t provide the same amount of towels they took. The shower head was horrible and outdated.
The parking lot attendants and the restaurant employees were the friendliest staff.
Starbucks is located in the lobby, which was very convenient.

The goods: Location, fridges & microwaves in –room, friendly staff, connected to great shopping and Ala Moana park/​beach. 15 minute walk to center of Waikiki. Nice bar on 36^th floor.
The bads: Also Location (not in Waikiki), small rooms, the wifi is horrible.

My family just got back from Oahu and I stayed at the Ala Moana hotel for 8 nights. The hotel was suggested to me by 2 of my cousins.
Pros:
Easy check in and check out. Wish they had in room check out but they don’t. You have to go down to the front desk to check out.
Self park was awesome. They gave you a ticket to get in and out of the lot. It’s $ 20 a day which is cheap for the Honolulu area.
Location was great. Away from the traffic of Waikiki. Was always easy to get to and from the hotel.
The hotel is very secure. You need to insert your key in order to access any of the floors.
Starbucks in the lobby
The hotel has a walkway to the Ala Moana shopping center. It was nice to be so close to the mall. We walked over many times and had dinner in the food court. All of us ended up getting what we wanted. It’s not your average food court. They had some really good food. I had a delicious rib eye steak more than once. And my hubby had prime rib twice. It was good food and we didn’t have to spend a huge amount on food.
They had a convenience store in the lobby that didn’t charge you an arm and a leg for stuff.
I had called their concierge desk when I made the reservations and they were able to hook me up with a really good rate with Enterprise. Cheaper than any other site or discount.
There is a mini fridge and microwave in the room. That came in handy. We could have breakfast or snacks in the room and not have to eat every meal out. They do charge I think $ 25 for utensils and plates. We stopped at Walmart and got paper plates, plastic silverware and food.
The Waikiki tower from what I hear is better than the Kona towers. We had a small balcony which was nice.
You can borrow beach towels from the pool attendant. Which came in handy. But make sure they give you your receipt when you return them. I was almost charged $ 60 for 3 beach towels. But thankfully I had my receipt that showed I returned them. They took the charge off at check out.
Cons:
Wifi sucks! Signal and speed were horrible.
Pillows were lumpy. There isn’t a comforter or bedspread on the bed. Just the sheets and a thin blanket. I had to ask for an extra blanket.
No in room check out. You must check out in person at the front desk.
There aren’t many cons. I would stay here the next time we are in Oahu. It’s not too far from Waikiki. You could walk or take one of the many buses or trolleys.

Do Not Stay here!!! We arrived for a conference and tried to pre check in at 9:30am. We were told they were sold out so we would need to come back around 2pm. When we arrived at 2pm, we pulled up to valet to off load our luggage and were chewed out by the Valet attendant at saying we couldn’t park there! He was literally screaming at my husband. We told him that we were going to off load our luggage and then move our car. We walked in to check in and found an hour long line!!! It was as if they had never hosted a conference before! We got in the back of the line, where the parking attendant came running in to yell again at my husband.
My husband left to move the car and I waited in the 1 hour line!!! When I got up to the counter we found out they had released our room because we didn’t check in by 2:30! We explained that we had come in the morning, and that we came back when they told us to and had to wait for an hour!!! Crazy and not off to a good start! So we had to wait till 5pm for a room to be made ready. Which made us late to our opening session of our conference.
This room was small and very uncomfortable. The AC was broken and wouldn’t shut off– so I called and asked for a blanket and was told there were none!
Next morning we woke up to a puddle in the room from a broken fridge and a cockroach greeted me when I went to shower!!! Yuck!
They finally switched our room to a nice suite– which was very nice.
Over all though I wouldn’t stay there again!

Stayed for a conference. It’s a basic hotel that charges a premium for location. Or basically the same as any hotel in the Waikiki area.
Biggest suggestion: bring earplugs. For one the doors don’t shut quietly and people coming and going means you’ll have slamming doors all night. Plus there’s a sizable crack under the door so you’ll hear anyone talking in the hall. Lastly, being in the Kona tower on the Kona street side I got woken up by garbage trucks showing up at 5:30AM and construction at 7:00. Can’t expect the hotel to deal with external issues like that, but worth noting the slider door didn’t do much to block the street noise.
Second suggestion: leave time for the possibility of a long check-​in. While they got inundated with arrivals for our conference so the line couldn’t be helped in some respects, they didn’t have all desks open even though line was across the lobby. They did give lots of info on hotel amenities when you checked in.
Third bit of info: For most bus tours the hotel is the first spot, so you’ll be first on nice and early and deal with all the pick-​ups but many times you’ll be first off at the end of the day depending on how you come into Waikiki.
Miscellaneous:
— They make you use a room key to access hotel floors. Nice and secure but the readers on a number of the elevators, especially the Kona tower ones in the back were terrible and barely worked.
— WiFi in the room was consistently pretty terrible.
— Fitness center is nice.
— Their bell desk is basically part of their lobby they have blocked off with carts and plants. Someone is always there from what I saw but nevertheless you’d hope for a more secure place.
— Finally, one day I was out of the room all day I returned and found the maid hadn’t cleaned it at all, so that was a tad frustrating. I’m one to reuse towels and bedding but it’s always nice to return to a made bed and have your trash cans emptied.

I would not recommend this hotel! The only great experience we had was with Tony at the front desk while checking in! After that, all down hill.
It started with the elevator. In order to go to your floor, you have to insert your key card, which is great, except for the fact it doesn’t always work ! You have 10 people in the elevator all trying to insert it! Awkward!
It was late and I was dying for some water, in my jammies. They offer NOTHING in the room, so I had to go to the vending machine, which was broken! They told me i can come downstair and buy some. I had to trek downstairs, in my PJs, super tired for WATER!
Lets talk about the beds for a moment! Hard as a rock with the size of pillows meant for smurfs! The luxurious blanket consists of a sheet, a very think quilt and a sheet. Pictures attached.
And last but not least, the coffee situation. We are TWO adults in a room with TWO beds! They only give ONE coffee! When I called the front desk to ask for another coffee, their response was, «we only give one coffee per day». Seriously… Its like 15 cents a coffee!!!
All in all, our stay here was not worth the money or the time. The lack of common amenities and poor customer service made me annoyed & frustrated. I thought hospitality and guest services were supposed to be number one priority. My bad!

This is my favorite hotel to staycation at. They offer great kamaaina discounts on their room rates during the year. There are numerous restaurants in the hotel and nearby (Shokudo & Ala Moana Center) that have really good food. The rooms are clean. Plus during the numerous times we have stayed here not once have we had a bed bug incident. *knock on wood*

My husband and I stayed here this past weekend as we had a convention to attend. When we had booked our room we found two different listings one was for the Ala Moana Hotel and the other was for Ala Moana Hotel — LSI Resorts. We didn’t know what the difference was so we booked it under LSI resorts since there was no difference in prices. Turns out when booking under LSI resorts you’re dealing with a Las Vegas company, so all inquires have to go through them. Unfortunately the staff at the Ala Moana hotel are unable to service any rooms booked under the LSI resort name, they’re only allowed to help with check in and give you the room key, you can’t even change rooms (we had some problems with the room we were given, more details later), and there is also an additional $ 75 resort fee which we weren’t even informed until we were checking out. I wished this was disclosed prior to me booking the room.
When we arrived at our room it was difficult to find the switch to turn on the lights. There’s a switch for the bathroom/​entryway but the actual room you need to turn on every lamp individually. Unfortunately the brightest lamp was partially broken. The part where the bulb attaches to the lamp, turns out the bulb was hanging off if it with wires exposed. Then that’s when we also noticed a burn mark on the front of the lamp shade. So we didn’t use it. The last thing we needed a potential fire hazard.
When we finally got all the lights turned on we noticed a puddle next to the mini fridge. Turns out the fridge was leaking. So we grabbed towels to clean up. My husband went down to the front desk to let them know what was going on with the room, it was during this time when we found out the difference in booking with LSI resorts Ala Moana Hotel vs Ala Moana Hotel. Like I mentioned previously they were unable to service the room or switch our room since we had booked it under LSI Resort and advised us to call the 702 area code number listed in the room and leave a message about the condition of the room. I left them a message and stuffed some towels under the mini fridge and called it a night.
At least the bed was really comfortable so we were able to get a good nights rest before our convention.
We didn’t receive a reply until late afternoon the following day. They left a message saying they were unable to service our room since we had the privacy sign up; I did remember putting the sign up before leaving to the convention so I guess that was my fault. However when we got back to the room around half past midnight we found our room cleaned up, new towels, and the mini fridge no longer leaking, the bulb in the lamp was still hanging with wires exposed.
My husband and I were a bit confused as to what was going on since the privacy sign was still up so I listened to the message again to make sure I heard it correctly. We also checked with the front desk if anyone had serviced the room and they said no. We checked our stuff to make sure nothing was missing. When everything was accounted for we called it a night and checked out as scheduled the later that morning.
Would I recommend this to a friend? Probably not. But I would have to see how things go if we book our reservation under the Ala Moana Hotel itself.

Hello, and welcome back to me reviewing the Alamoana Hotel.
The hotel has gotten much better since last year in many aspects, and even more surprising the employees actually remembered us from our last stay, I struck up a brief conversation with a valet worker almost as soon as we arrived.
Hotel Lobby: Not much has changed here except for the addition of a Starbucks built into the Alamoana side wall where the piano used to be, they’re pretty good and their services are a godsend for convention goers who don’t have time to take care of themselves nutritionally due to panels and commissions. I’ll review them separately later on assuming they have their own page.
Room: This year we were WAY up top, room 2709, 27^th floor 9^th room, but I am happy to say that our room was in MUCH better standing this year. We didn’t have any random clothing or trash stashed away in drawers and under beds and there was no giant dong drawn on our mirror. We only had to deal with a sort of loose bedside lamp and a broken hairdryer that was quickly replaced when we phoned down to the front desk.
Services
Valet: The valet guys are pro, they will remember you and they always seem to be happy and ready to go, got my car back in the exact same condition I gave it to them in. Reviewing my dash camera footage revealed nothing but safe driving and careful parking.
Room Service: They removed the button, no more disappointment, now you know it’s not a thing.
Housekeeping: With Shirokiya closed down we had to resort to alternate cheap eats for the convention so on N1 we ordered into the hotel from Pizza Hut. This decision left behind an army of cardboard and trash that I didn’t expect them to take away, we actually had it all piled up together and I was going to snag a trash bag from the convention center and dump it myself. When I got back to the room I was beyond surprised to find that house keeping had put in that extra work and cleaned up our disaster table, I threw down a FIRE tip for them after that.
Front Desk: These guys are great, super awesome, especially Justin. Don’t know how long he’s been there but he knows his stuff.
Bell services (Bag handlers): This is the main reason the hotel did not score 5 Stars with me, granted MOST of the employees were great our encounter with ONE of them was hideous.
An older man with kind of messed up teeth, dude was condescending, blatantly rude and insulting. Kawaii Kon attendees already feel a little odd at the hotel sometimes, like we don’t belong, we don’t fit in with the normal traffic flow and some people even think that the staff only deals with us because they have to. This employee is the reason why some of them feel that way. And these inappropriate interactions weren’t just had by myself but another pair of friends that were on the 4^th floor. A nasty stain on an otherwise stellar stay this year.

Stayed at the Ala Moana for 2 nights recently. Originally planned to stay at the Pagoda Hotel as I was on Oahu to see my mom who is in Queen’s Hospital. My brother thought that I’d be more comfortable at the Ala Moana and was able to get me a really good rate. Being unfamiliar with the area, I took his advice since he lives on-​island.
The Pros:
The rooms were nice. Small, but nice. Staff was friendly and I had no problems there. Great view.
Ala Moana shopping center is a short walk and can be accessed from the 2^nd floor. My floor was quiet, I had no problem there.
Close to where I needed to get to. The Ala Moana Hotel is close to Queen’s Hospital. About a 10 minute cab ride, maybe $ 10 – 11.
The Cons:
NO ROOM SERVICE. There are currently 3 restaurants on-​site and a Starbucks. A Chinese restaurant located near the pool on the 3^rd floor, and a steakhouse on the 36^th floor, a restaurant open only for breakfast in the lobby, and a Starbucks in the lobby. Neither restaurant is an option if you are there by yourself. And the restaurant in the lobby is only open for breakfasts. I didn’t get a chance to see the steakhouse, but the Chineses restaurant was fairly more upscale looking and judging by the menu, not really convenient or practical for a single person looking for a meal. So, again, if you are on your own, no real options for food in the hotel and no room service. You’ll have to go out to eat or get your food to bring back to the hotel. I would not have had a problem going in search of food if I were on vacation and with my husband, but if you are in search of just a room and room service as an option, stay somewhere else.
I noticed another review on here that showed a baggie with condoms and lube in it that was left between the pillows in their room I didn’t have the pleasure of such a welcome, but the in-​room refridgerator (convenient and nice) contained a gigantic bottle of water that was half full in the door. That tells me that housekeeping isn’t exactly attentive or thorough about cleaning the room. That skeeves me out. I wish I had checked reviews before staying at the hotel.
Check-​out. Busy and slow. Normally, I just by-​pass check-​out. Have never had a problem with charges from any other hotel/​resort I’ve stayed at in previous travels. I just checked my credit card charges and found all kinds of charges from the hotel pending… including a $ 27.20 F&B charge. WTF? NO ROOM SERVICE, and I didn’t charge anything to my room, so where did the F&B charge come from? Also 2 other charges that don’t reflect the amount I was quoted as the «special rate». Now I have to wait until Monday to talk to accounting about my bill.
So maybe I’m being a little picky, but the cons far outweigh the pros as far as I’m concerned. All outward appearances show a very nice hotel that is well kept. But, there are signs that maybe the rooms are not as clean as they appear on the surface.

My room wasn’t available upon check in so the gentlemen told me he would upgrade me to a better room at no extra charge. I was more than happy! But after that everything went down hill.
I got to my room and my key card wouldn’t even work! After trying for 10 times the door finally opens (TIP, insert your card more to the right) and I’m in a handicapped room! I felt ABSOLUTELY offended as I am not handicapped whatsoever! The bedroom area was nice and clean but the bathroom was horrendous!!! The toilet is high, the face towels are right next to the toilet (ew bacteria!) and the shower you just walk right into with no barrier just a shower curtain and so when you shower the water goes out all the way to the toilet area and making the bathroom floor completely soaked since there’s no tub! Now I know this is useful for someone who is handicapped but everything about this room offended me big time. I paid a lot of money to come out to Hawaii for my first time and this is what I got!
Not only that but room service didn’t come until 1 – 2 so I had to go ask them for extra towels since we came back from the beach at 1 and they didn’t clean our room yet. There was a sign that said there’s an extra toilet paper roll under the vanity but all there was was a hair dryer and Kleenex… So imagine my embarrassment when I asked my friend next door if we could have her extra roll…
Also, our room was right next to the elevators on the 11^th floor so all night you can just hear the ROAR of elevators going up and down. Got no sleep. And our view was of the parking lot of Ala Moana Center. We were told we had a partial ocean view but they really weren’t joking because to see the ocean you had to stick half your body out of the balcony and strain to see the ocean.
I hate complaining so I just dealt with this room since we only came to the room to shower and sleep but I definitely know next time to complain if I get another room like this! Not sure if I will return to this hotel. I have never been so offended in my life before.
On the brighter side, my friend had the room next to us and it was absolutely beautiful. Sure wish we had that room instead…

Always a nice and peaceful stay. The staff always have a smile on and are ready to help… the rooms are large enough and clean… The shower heads are very low though (I am only 5’11 and I have to duck to shower). It’s nice to be able to walk to some good food places and the mall of course.
Clean, friendly, and affordable

This was the hotel my boyfriend and I stayed at for our final night in Hawaii back in September of this year. After our weeklong Hawaiian cruise, we came here early in the day, around 10 am hoping to be able to check in. However, they told us they were full, so the held our stuff while we waited. This hotel is located walking distance and practically connected to the Ala Moana Shopping center. That made it easy for us to pass time. The weird thing about this hotel is that apparently it is also a condo complex. I am not sure if certain floors are hotel rooms and condo or if they are mixed among the floors.
When it was time to check in. It was easy, but despite not having many people in line, the wait seemed extremely slow. The workers were friendly and made small talk with people, so that added to the wait time. Also there was only about 2 people checking people in despite there being 6 or 7 counters for checking in. We did not have a car rental on our last day, so I do not know how much parking was, but I was glad that there was no «resort fee» here because «resort fees» are a sham anyways.
Our room had 2 beds, but we only really needed one. There was also a balcony and the room was a decent size. The room was clean and meet our expectations. There was a microwave and mini-​fridge and the ice was easily accessible from our room. At night, we took the bus to Waikiki beach to check out the Aloha festival. The city bus stop was close to the hotel, just on the side street and easy to get to. The stop on the way back was a bit further and dropped off at the mall. A bus ride was $ 2 each way, so it made for a cheap ride to Waikiki beach. The bus ride there was about 15 minutes.
Checking out of the hotel also seemed to take a while. There was no option on the TV in the room to check out, so we had to wait in line to check out. The line was long and very slow moving. I think they need to have a faster way to check people in and out. We had a shuttle to catch to get to the airport.
Would I stay here again? Maybe. The hotel was not bad and met our expectations. However, I would rather stay walking distance to Waikiki beach, but we were just here for one night after our cruise so it worked out well. We booked via Priceline and the price was fair for a Saturday night being a little over $ 100. If you prefer high end hotel however, then this place is not it. It felt stuffy when you walked in, could be from the humidity of Hawaii, but I think they needed to turn on the air more so that it felt better. They have a breakfast place on sit, but we did not try it. Instead we walked to the Ala Moana mall where there is a much better variety and prices for food. If you do stay here, I would suggest renting a car so you can access the city much easier. Honolulu is pretty spread out.

Quick trip to Honolulu for business… And sight seeing so I knew I wouldn’t be inside very much. I wanted a comfortable place for a good price. Emi recommend staying here. Close to the beach, clean, convenient for shopping and affordable. They offer kama’aina for us Mauians!
Check in was a breeze and the attendant gave me step by step directions to get to my room. The room was clean and cozy. I’d wished that I’d upgraded the ocean view but… No worries – staring at the mall parking lot got me excited to go shop!
Speaking of the mall, it’s literally right there. So is Ala Moana Beach park. I was too busy exploring to use any of the amenities. But this hotel is nice. Even with the huge remodel job-​I think Starbucks is coming?
I need to mention the employees. So I was dressing up for a work party. I put on my black dress. And couldn’t get the zipper to zip all the way up. Only girls will probably understand what a panic moment this is! I had to catch my über in like 5 minutes and my dress is only half way ready. I got creative. My hair is long so I let it drape over my back and went down to the front desk. Surely someone would help me right? A little blonde haired angel named Sara (I think!!) was working at the activities counter. I asked her for a favor ask showed her my issue. She was so awesome-​she jumped right in to help me out. She got my zipper unstuck and my dress zipped all the way. Sweetest girl ever! That’s customer service!
Next time I’m over on Oahu, I’ll plan on staying here again for sure!

We chose this hotel mainly for the price. We were very pleased with the quality of the room and service.
When we arrived we were upgraded to an ocean view room for the night. Tony at the front desk was awesome!
The room is very clean and modern. I appreciate a hotel that offers great prices with employees who exude the Aloha spirit!
The Ala Moana has a night club right near the front desk, a restraunt and a store. It’s conveniently located next door to the mall and the beach.
We definitely would stay here again and recommend this place to others.

Stayed in this large hotel and I was put up here by my employer.
The standard room is a touch on the small side and we even had a little bit of a view. The location is convenient to the mall with a little walkway attached. But as far as beach access, it is quite a walk to get to Waikiki beach. I even attempted the Ala Moana park that is close but it was still a 10 minute walk for me to get to the walled off lagoon area.
On the last day, we came to our cleaned room and felt the wet carpet by the air conditioner. One minute later, we heard a knock as maintenance had received a complaint the floor below us because the leak was so bad. They informed us that the AC was broken so the front desk moved us to an empty suite down the hall. Very glad they made it right and it was nice to move to a bigger room with an actual balcony for a few hours.

We were in Honolulu for just one night and wanted a hotel that would allow us to walk to the Ala Moana shopping center and Morimoto, two of the three things that brought us to Honolulu in the first place. We found a good deal on Orbitz for the Ala Moana hotel, so we booked it.
I have never stayed at a worse hotel, and I’ve traveled in third world countries. The Ala Moana hotel is centrally located to many things in the Waikiki area, but there is nothing aesthetically pleasing about the location of this hotel or the hotel itself. It was so unappealing that I actually wondered if this was all Hawaii was going to offer us.
The staff at the hotel are unhelpful and the rooms are TERRIBLE. The bed was rock hard and the pillows misshapen and offered no support. When we checked in, we were not offered any help or directions on amenities offered by the hotel. Supposedly, there is a beautiful swimming pool and sundeck, but there are no pics of it on the website and we certainly didn’t see it once during our stay. There were other guests who were on the same shuttle bus from the airport as us and their rooms were ready upon arrival, whereas ours was not. I don’t know if it’s because we booked our room through Orbitz that we received such sub-​par service, but it’s not like we got the room for free either.
My other complaint is that this hotel does not offer a secured location for baggage. If you leave your bags with the hotel, be prepared for them to be sitting in the lobby where countless people walk in and out from. This made us really uncomfortable because we were traveling with expensive items that were going to be totally unsecured. When we asked if there was a room where we could put our bags, we were told that there was no other alternative. So, if you’re going to leave your bags with the hotel, make sure that you have a proper lock to secure all of your belongings.
With the amount of hotels in Honolulu, there are better options at the same price point. If I could go back in time, I would have opted for any of the other hotels that popped up on our Orbitz search. However, in hindsight, the lure of the close proximity to the shopping blind sighted our good judgment. Isn’t that why they always say hindsight is ²⁰⁄₂₀?

Where: Ala Moana Hotel in Honolulu
Reason: Did not want to commute back to Waianae Wednesday night and back to Honolulu on Thursday afternoon.
I recently booked an overnight stay at Ala Moana Hotel for the Kama’aina rate at $ 149 via the hotel website. The room was advertised in staying at the Kona Tower of the hotel. Ala Moana Hotel is part of the Outrigger Hotel chain.
I arrived at the hotel about half hour before the check in time of 3pm. While standing in line I noticed a lot of the airline personnel checking into the hotel. There were other tourists checking in as well.
When it was my turn to check in to the hotel… the entire process was done very quickly. I gave the front desk clerk my Hawaii state identification card and my credit card that I used to book the room.
The employee had asked me «Have you ever stayed here at Ala Moana Hotel before?»
I replied «Yes I have.»
The employee (I wish I had glanced at his name tag) then tells me «Originally you booked a room in the Kona Towers and we are upgrading your stay to a higher level at no extra charge. Your room is located in the Waikiki Towers.»
My brain was like REALLY!!! AN UPGRADE WITH NO EXTRA CHARGE!!! THAT IS SO AWESOME!
The male worker informed me that the room has a refrigerator, microwave, free internet through the hotel, and safe box. That’s good to know.
After I received my room key I went straight to the elevator. I had to use the room key in order to get to the 19^th floor. Once I walked into my assigned room for the night… I noticed a queen or king size bed (bigger than my twin bed at home) and a little couch with no armrests. I unpacked my belongings and went back down to the lobby area.
I walked around the lobby and noticed a tranquility massage spa, a gift shop, plus Yuzu located in the Kona Towers lobby. I walked it back towards the escalators and noticed Rumours nightclub. I took the escalator up to the second floor and noticed all the seminar rooms being occupied. I ended up walking towards the exit that leads to the ramp down to Ala Moana Shopping Center parking lot near Macy’s.
Fast forward to the evening… I’m back in the room and checked out the bathroom. The bathtub is mighty high… you really need to lift your legs up and over to get in the bathtub. The water pressure for the showerhead was my only disappointment… not enough power for the massage. The faucet for the tub was still running at the same time as the showerhead. There were the usual bath soap, shampoo, conditioner, and hair dryer to be used for the overnight stay. I noticed the bathroom was missing the facial tissues… no biggy I have extras in my backpack.
The bed was so comfortable during my sleep… I did not want to get up. In fact I stayed laying in bed until almost 10:30am before hitting the showers again.
Checked out around 11am… it was done really fast.
I really enjoyed my overnight stay at the hotel. I will return and hopefully next time around it will be for two nights instead of one. My next staycation visit I will definitely check out the restaurants on the premises.

The Ala Moana Hotel is conveniently located just outside of Waikiki and attached to Hawaii’s largest shopping mall. It’s also home to the decades old Rumors nightclub in the lobby. There also other restaurants and convenience stores located in the hotel. It must be a great value because it is frequented by many airline layover staff and visiting professionals. My friend who is a traveling nurse was put here for 30 days during her transition.
The hotel rooms have a small refrigerator, a microwave and actually pretty decent amenities like conditioning shampoo and lotion. Best of all, because it’s attached to Ala Moana Shopping Center, many visitors park at the adjacent mall and walk over to visit their guests, dine in a restaurant, or when using the conference rooms for a seminar. Definitely a great recommendation for visiting friends.
