She takes her time to make sure my nails look perfect each time… and they always do! If you can get an appointment with Akiko, you will become a client for life! She is truly a gem!

Unilocal, you are a blessing. You are what brought to Akiko Nails at Salon 101 for a pedicure. Tucked away behind a Japanese garden on Rycroft, this peaceful place is the domaine of Akiko. Meticulous and charming with an emphasis on hygiene, what a jewel!
A week has passed since my non/​gel manicure and my nails still look outstanding, even after barefoot walking on the beach.

I have been with Akiko now for about 8 years and have moved with her from location to location because she is that good. She’s meticulous and very creative in her designs. I always look forward to our monthly visits to see what new ideas she has for my nails. And because she builds a relationship with her clients, she’s always got something designed personally for you. Her selection is amazing and because she also brings items back from Japan, they are very unique. Come see Akiko, you will not be disappointed.

Akiko’s work is consistent, flawless and, depending on what you put your nails through, lasts until your next appointment. Unlike most salons, she does not use an electric tool to «sand» the gel off your nail. So while it might take a little more time, rest assured she is not thinning and sanding your nail to the flesh. Regular gel manicure (no design) is $ 35 + tax and takes about an hour and a half. Scheduled appointments are of course preferred, but she does her very best to accommodating.
Also, she recently returned from a Beauty Convention in Vegas so she has a multitude of new colors available! Most are from a Japan based Co. and have been wearing very well, if not better, than OPI. They last just as long and once its time, they wear down from the tips as opposed to OPI gels that peel off in big chunks.

Akiko is the best nail artist I’ve gone to. She’s very good at what she does and takes pride in her work. She can hand draw almost any design. I highly recommend her and she’s worth every penny.

Akiko is the greatest at nails! She gives the best manicures & pedicures I’ve ever had! She also does cute nail art & my favorite is her polka dots, everyone thinks it’s a sticker but it’s all hand done. Like Chrystie said, you get what you pay for.
