Yoshino Nail

Sanctuary Salon is located on the second floor in the building between First Hawaiian Bank and the Chevron gas station. To get to the parking lot, you’ll want to drive through the gas station towards the back area of the building. Then, you will find a small hidden parking lot with about three stalls dedicated to Sanctuary Salon customers. The back of the building is also where you’ll find the entrance, up the stairs and on the second floor.
My appointment was at 9:30 am, but I ended up coming a bit early. Nonetheless, Yoshino welcomed me in and offered me a seat in the lobby while she finished prepping for my appointment. Additionally, she offered me water or coffee, which I politely declined but was simultaneously impressed by the generous customer service. Later, she explained that she felt bad drinking coffee in front of me so she wanted me to have some too (how sweet!).
Overall, my nail experience was sweet and pleasant all because of Yoshino. She’s very easy to chat with and won’t disrespect you in any way. She was also very flexible with the crazy design I offered and we came to a mutual agreement on the final design that eventually went on my nails. The process was around 2.5 hours long for acrylic, gel, and a design but I would rather be patient for quality than be rushed and have the finished product imperfect. The price she offered me for everything that was done was incredibly reasonable and appropriate; I did not feel like I was getting ripped off and is an exceptionally good place to go if you’re a college student on a budget.
Yoshino is a very skilled nail technician and greatly cares about all the customers she tends to. I will definitely be back in the future to have my nails done by Yoshino!

Yoshino is AMAZING!!! Felt super welcome the moment I walked through the door. The salon looks great and the atmosphere is awesome. My appointment was for 530pm but she texted me earlier that day to let me know she’s running early so I could come at 5pm if I wanted. I arrived a little before 5pm and she took me at exactely 5pm. Yoshino is the sweetest person ever. She was very gentle. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and I got exactly that!

The salon was very clean and furnished with comfy interior.
I had my manicure and pedicure done by Yoshino and her treatment was gentle and relaxing. She took her time for a perfect result ^^

Yoshino was very sweet and did a lovely job with my nails. For first-​timers, if you go to 415 Kapahulu, go around to the back of the building and up the stairs. Yoshino is the first door at the top of the stairs. She was right there to let me in. She made me very comfortable, the salon is nice and she had great music on. A relaxing, nice experience. Lovely little hidden salon. Not advertised to the public. Staff was very friendly as I walked in. Yoshino was very gentle on my pedicure, no pinches! Best pedicure ever! great find!

I’ve heard a lot of great things about Yoshino from local friends and from Unilocal,and everything was true. I came in wanting to do something crazy and fun and we ended up doing a Hawaiian rainbow mani pedi in gel. As others have mentioned, she does not rush, and does not use techniques that damage your nails. Removing previous gel was not done with any harsh sanding device, but rather patiently by coating fingernails with tissue dipped in acetone. She’s a true artist, and both manicure and pedicure have held up for weeks looking beautiful even with a lot of activity. Wonderful nail artist would absolutely recommend.

I love getting nails done by Yoshino! I’ve tried a few other places but she is the best! She is so meticulous with every nail and I’ve never had better nail service. Yoshino is awesome! She is so maticulate and does an amazing job. I get my nails wet a lot being a hairstylist and a mother of two little girls constantly washing my hands. I’ve never had my nails last this long! Save yourself some money and try Yoshino, you’ll never regret it.

Yoshino does an amazing job on your nailsher attention to detail is impeccable. She really cares about you. She has great customer service and more importantly … I have been having my nails done for 20+ years and used to do them myself. I have never had my nails last for 4 weeks EVER!!! Yoshino is the best! She always puts customer service first and is very very nice :) I always recommend her whenever people ask where I get my nails done. I love my glittery nails and Japanese designs which she is very amazing at. Another thing I love is that she takes a lot of time with her techniques and is very detail oriented. It is always best to make an appointment instead of doing a walk in … since she runs an independent salon. It’s conveniently located in Sanctuary Salon so I can do my hair and nails in the same place :)
