History

Established in 1967.

Shellcrosslee Real Estate has been family owned and operated since it was established in Hayward by Rebecca Shellcrosslee. Rebecca has since passed away, at the age of almost-​90, but left her tradition of service and her high standards embraced by her daughter, Roberta Thomas. Roberta has operated as the Broker of Record since 1992 and retains long-​time clients since the 70’s.

The business has moved four times in 47 years but has always stayed in Hayward since Hayward is the «Heart» of the Bay — a city with many important transportation connections. From Hayward a wide area can be reached — within 20 minutes on the freeway — for property management.

Our latest move has brought us into the downtown area at the Hayward Area Historical Society building on the corner of Foothill Boulevard and Russell Way. The mural at the end of our building is one of the more beautiful murals, of many beautiful murals, in Hayward. Drive by and enjoy!

Roberta T.

Business Owner

Roberta grew up in Hayward and graduated from Tennyson High School. Her parents were on-​site managers during her high school years. Over the years Roberta has lived property management from the cleaning to screening.

She graduated from Cal State Hayward, now Cal State East Bay with a LIberal Arts major and Business minor.

After working in the manufacturing industry at mid-​level management overseeing a department of 12 people, Roberta joined her mother, Rebecca, at Shellcrosslee Real Estate when the manufacturing company was about to relocate to Texas. Roberta became the Broker of Record in 1992 and has increased business, based on referrals from satisfied clients, ever since.

Today, Roberta operates the business with her assistant, Anne.
