Palladino Painting came highly recommended to us by our contractor. They’re not the cheapest painters in town, but they did a beautiful job on our exterior! They are the cream of the crop of painters. There wasn’t a drop of paint left anywhere, the workers were quiet, respectful & hard-​working, the work was done on time & on budget. Lou was accommodating & worked with us when we were indecisive about one of the trim colors. We were so happy with them, that we hired them a few months later for our 2-​story entryway. Because we were repeat customers, Lou took extra special care of us, getting the project done on a tight timeline (thank you, Lou!). Once again, they didn’t disappoint. On budget, the workers respectful & perfectionists. Palladino Painting has a customer for life!

I give high marks to Palladino Painting. We had a relatively small but difficult job of sanding and painting the eaves on the exterior of our cathedral ceiling home. The work required scaffolding. Lou and Karen treated me as a valuable customer from start to finish, getting estimates on the scaffolding, making several trips to the house to prepare the estimate and address our concerns about the coating that would be used. The crew was professional and pleasant to work with. The work turned out beautifully. We’re very pleased.

We are over the moon happy with our new exterior paint job by Palladino Painting, Inc. We were impressed with the professionalism of Lou, Karen, Bernardo and the whole crew. They knew their jobs and did the work. There was no standing around talking they used their time to do the work. Lou recommended a general contractor to do the dry rot /​termite work and coordinated with him so the paint job went smoothly and progressed in unison. Lou and Bernardo were very helpful during the color choice. Our home looks new again.
Palladino Painting also removed the wallpaper and painted our power room. We are very pleased with the results.
We called another company for an estimate on the exterior. They said our job was too complicated and too large
Using Lou’s expertise was the guarantee of a great job. He was here at the important times and was always available. His contract was very clear. That made for no ambiguities and the job was done as contracted.
When we are ready to repaint the interior, Palladino Painting will be the only painting company we will call.

After interviewing several companies and their references we selected Palladino Painting to paint the exterior of our house. It was a big job that required scaffolding and some dry rot repair that Palladino coordinated with a recommended contractor. From beginning to end they did an outstanding job. We were especially impressed with the detailed prep work which is so important to a good paint job, as well as the work crew. Like others have said, we are glad we chose Palladino.

Here is a report 4 ½ years after this company painted our house. We live one block from the ocean and Pacifica and get very strong, salty Northwest winds. Nevertheless, the house still looks as fresh as a daisy. Thier attention to detail was awesome. They scraped off the old paint down to the wood, and then expertly painted our house so that it looks lovely. We are both very glad that we chose Palladino as our painter.

These guys are awesome, from Karen in the office to Lou to the crew. We just bought a home in Montara, and had three fairly large bedrooms & an accent wall that needed updating. Lou visited us the day after we talked to Karen for an estimate. He was professional, informative and didn’t balk at the fact that we tried to paint a couple of the rooms ourselves (and failed miserably). The estimate was perfectly reasonable, and Karen managed to squeeze us into the schedule the same week.
The crew was equally fabulous: fast, efficient and flawless! They even managed to match the color of our beautiful crown molding & touched up where previous painters had had ‘issues’. We’ll definitely use Palladino again.

I can’t recommend Palladino Painting highly enough. Lou came to our home and spent a great deal of time looking at every detail in order to give us a complete bid. He was the middle of the three bids we requested, and we went with his because it seemed the most detailed and fair. He and his crew did not disappoint. Their preparation was meticulous, with everything taped off and covered. The paint job was flawless with the utmost attention to detail. And at the end they put everything back with such care that it was almost sweet. They did a terrific job and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

My wife and I have had Palladino paint the outside and finish the inside of our home. Additionally, we have a rental unit his crew has painted. Lou Palladino consulted with us and gave his ideas about how he would address tricky transitions between colors. He is also very patient and helpful in color suggestions and selection. He obviously has a lot of experience as his suggestions are excellent.
Their work is started and completed as scheduled. When we have had Palladino come back to touch up areas, which are few and minor, they never make us feel like we are picky or unreasonable. They address our concerns promptly, with precision, and thank us for our business.
Karen, who works in his office, is always friendly and makes us feel as if our requests are reasonable. When we have questions for her, she is always on top of what stage our projects are in and what we can expect. Karen always checks in after a job is completed to make sure their work meets our expectations.
I wish all home improvement professionals paid as much attention to detail and left us feeling as happy with the service provided as Palladino does.

Palladino Painting did an excellent job painting our house this past month. We have a tricky house with some high, steep outside walls, redwood siding and wood, and a lot of decking and rails so this involved scaffolding on parts of the house and detailed work. Lou Palladino is very thorough and has high standards for his employees and their work. The whole team was responsive, courteous and provided a very high quality paint job. They hand painted in many sections, rollers in others and did double coats on the sunny sides of the house and on the decks where there is a lot of traffic. We ran into a little dry rot and Lou connected us with a carpenter who repaired the boards before getting them painted. Palladino was not the cheapest bid we got, but in line with other bids. In the end we went for less headaches and MORE quality over saving a few bucks. We are glad we chose them to paint our house this time. We used them before for parts of the house and they were even better this time. I highly recommend you talk to Lou when thinking of getting your house painted. They also do interiors although we only used them for the exterior of the house.

I recently had Lou’s crew paint my 1950’s Eichler in Palo Alto. The house is one of the original Ashen & Allen’s made completely out of redwood and hadn’t been painted in 20 years. I chose Palladino because Lou seem the most knowledgable in dealing with these materials. He suggested continuing to stain the siding to maintain it’s integrity.
First their price was competitive and very reasonable. His crew was extremely thorough and well organized. Their craftsmanship was excellent with no need to correct them or watch over their shoulder for being sloppy. They used good quality paint and were accommodating in getting the colors I wanted correctly match. They were responsive to the few corrections I asked of them without a seconds hesitation. I was happy with everyone from Lou, Karen in the office and everyone on down.
I highly recommend their services to anyone in the area.

I have been using the painting services of Palladino for several years now, and as such have hired them for multiple jobs on my primary residence. They are the most meticulous company I have hired to do work on my home. I keep hiring them back because I know no one will be able to match the quality of their work. Professionalism, experience, skill and communication. Lou and the crew did an outstanding job painting my kitchen with the newer hybrid oil paint. This was not that easy of a job in that older oil painted cabinet boxes were matched with new raw wood drawers and doors. The work done was excellent with tight quality control throughout. Any issues or glitches were immediately dealt with in a professional manner. Highly recommend Palladino Painting. I plan to use them for my future painting needs.

Lou Palladino and his outstanding crew just completed painting the outside of our home and poolhouse in Atherton. We have NEVER seen such meticulous work. His crew arrived and left on time, completed the job on schedule, and checked every inch of the job to ensure that nothing was missed. We ran into unexpected dry rot on a chimney and they went out of their way to find a tradesman who could do the repair quickly so the whole painting job could still get done on time. I spoke with this tradesperson and it was clear he postponed another job to accommodate this «ask» from Mr. Palladino.
We were so impressed, we did not hesitate to ask Palladino’s to bid on our exterior and interior painting job in SF. Despite the potential difficulties of parking for his crew in the city, Lou gave us a very competitive quote and will do that work as well. We are not on site to supervise (as we were not for the first job) but have no doubt that Palladino painting will complete this in a similar timely and expert manner.

I’ve had two experiences with Palladino Painting. The first was painting the exterior of our Eichler about 5 years ago, and that has held up extremely well. The second was stripping a large overhang that had been damaged due to roof leaks then priming and painting it after a wood treatment. This was completed a couple of months ago and also included painting several pieces of replacement siding. Previous experience indicates that any failures in the overhang would be evident by now, but there have been no problems whatsoever.
In both projects, the completed work and experience with Palladino’s staff were excellent. This is a very professional, service-​oriented company and the level of craftsmanship is the highest I’ve seen.

I’m disappointed with the overall attention to detail that the painters demonstrated. I had to have them return to finish walls they left undone, and I expected things like nail holes and other flaws to be filled in, which some were and some weren’t. I would not use them again.

Update 7÷30÷07: An important part of choosing a vendor is knowing they will generally act in good faith, and that is never an issue in working with Palladino Painting. Lou Palladino called me to express his concern over this review, particularly since it currently ranks high in Google searches. He asked me to consider some of the specialized requirements of my project (notably some vintage wood panel restoration), and their ability to provide a cost-​effective solution. It further reinforced my belief that this business is run by good, competent people, and that they strive to do right by their customers. I also stand by my original review below, which I believe was fair.

I’d love to give Palladino Painting four or five stars, and if I were just reviewing Lou Palladino and the folks who work in his office, it would unquestionably be a five-​star review. The trouble is that Lou and the office crew aren’t doing the painting, and the guys that are doing it are hit and miss.
My recent project with Palladino Painting involved multiple rework visits, and it wasn’t simply for missed spots, but completely missing significant items on the work order, or worse, poor workmanship in general. Whenever there was an issue, Lou and Co. were on it, and to be fair, there were some ambiguous instructions, but overall there were too many issues for my tastes.
My project was in Palo Alto, and though I live in San Francisco, the distance had not been an issue with any of my prior or subsequent contractors. If you’re considering Palladino Painting for a project, I’d strongly suggest being prepared to give them a lot of supervision.
