These guys are crooks.
After towing my vehicle post an accident I was told by a friendly desk agent, Casey that it would be perfectly fine for me to get a free estimate on my car. Upon driving an hour from San Jose a very rude «Owner» named Gary stormed with gusto out of his office to inform me it was a waste of his perfectly good time to inspect the vehicle upon my request even if I paid the hourly rate. He refused. Even though the side of the building proudly sports a sign that says, «Free Estimates».
To get rid of me he finally let me see my wrecked vehicle citing his reason for telling my insurance to total it was merely because of airbags, which he tried to convince me was a $ 7000 repair. That’s pretty outrageous. I can only surmise he assumes I know nothing about cars. When asked for additional reasons he admitted to never having looked at the vehicle. He spouted on and on about how he knew my type. Perhaps he meant my gender? He proceeded to interrupt me and I could tell it was infuriating him everytime I continued right on with my sentence. Maybe it was my age? Even though I’m in my 30s, but regardless did not warrant how I was treated. I may have asked questions he did not like, but they were asked with respect and in return I was yelled at. I simply wanted a justification for what costs accounted up for my vehicle to be deemed totaled or why it could not meet his strict safety standards if there was no structural damage. They refused to even inspect it. I’m a car person, it’s worth a little extra to get something of sentimental value back yet I was refused an inspection. So I’m not sure what kind of type I am that I deserved to be treated in this manor.
But then I noticed as I went to check through the different compartments; my wallet was missing, the subwoofer had been removed from the factory installed location, the shifter removed. I suspect they wanted the car totaled and avoid my seeing it as they are stripping it for aftermarket parts before it was hauled to a junk yard.

Curley and Red’s repaired some rust spots and repainted the top of my van about 2 ½ years ago. Recently some rust reappeared, due to the extremely corrosive environment here on the coast. C & R has a 5 yr warranty on paint, so I took the van back to Oscar, and he had the new rust removed and repainted in 3 days, no questions asked, and no charge. It was a pleasure to do business with a business that honors their warranty without a hassle.

Curley & Red’s used to have a «so-​so» reputation in town. I came to them because my 06 F250 Crew Cab pickup had a problem no one else wanted to touch: the metal bracket under my windshield had rusted completely, causing my windshield to crack. Oscar Romero, the manager, looked at it and explained the probable cause, then walked me through what would be required to repair it. He took photos at every stage and sent them to me. They even washed the truck thoroughly before I picked it up. My wife had some damage to her 13 Ford Escape Titanium (her baby), so we took it to C&R and got the same excellent service from Mr. Romero. Highly recommended!

What a great experience! After running into a large boulder and totally damaging my fender, I dropped off my car at Curley & Red’s on an early Monday morning. Oscar was very helpful and had my Hertz car already in the lot, along with my completed AAA paperwork. I was able to hop in the rental car and get to work almost at my regular time.
Three days later, my car was ready and it looked great (actually hasn’t looked that good since it was new). My car also had been vacuumed and washed. I was touched, because I found a small vial of paint in one of the cup holders — I was sure this was the result of a conversation I’d had with Oscar on Monday about how I wanted to cover some scratches on my back fender, but hadn’t had a chance to pick up the paint at a dealer. What a guy!
I really recommend this place if you need to have some body work done.

Being sideswiped by a hit and run driver on RT280 ten days ago was no fun. But the courtesy, compassion, and service I received from Oscar at Curly and Red’s in Half Moon Bay was exceptional. The entire driver’s side of my Prius was completely restored in record time — 8 working days! The way in which Curly and Reds coordinated the repair, working with my insurance company and the local rental car company, was truly refreshing. I hope I never have to reprise this visit. BUT, if I need body work in the future, I will definitely return.

The men at Curley and reds are stand up guys. They misplaced my antenna and I was leaving for a long road trip the day after New Years and the owner made sure to get me set with an antenna that very day. They made wrong a right quickly and professionally.

Yet another positive experience to come out of a negative one.
I needed to repair some damage to my car. My insurance company referred me to Curley & Red’s, where I was introduced to Oscar, who handled the repairs. It was a rather lengthy process, but through it all, Oscar kept me updated on what was being done. Everyone I encountered or spoke with on the phone at C&R’s was friendly and professional.
When I got my car back, it looked brand new! The staff at C&R’s had it cleaned, inside and out. They also provided me with a little jar of paint in case I needed to fix up any minor scratches in the future.
Great people, highly recommended!

Totally pleased with the customer service and quality of work on our Toyota that was in a hit and run accident — Oscar kept me updated knowing we’d need to get a rental car if the repairs couldn’t be done per the estimated schedule. Repairs were done quickly so no need for us to spend extra money on a rental car which I appreciated — hope I don’t need them again soon, but glad to know they’re here if I do!

I smashed the back of my pickup bed and after reading positive reviews on here, thought I’d give the local company some business. BIG MISTAKE!
I was told the job would take 2 weeks. I finally got my truck back 3.5 weeks and $ 9700 later. And that was after I had to continuously call or stop by to find out what was going on. The repairs were less than average. There was over-​spray, the tie down hooks were visibly crooked and misaligned, there were metal specks embedded in the plastic moldings and emblems as well as hood and fenders (from grinding in close proximity to the truck), and the new bed panels were welded in an improper position causing the bed to sit 2 inches lower than it should. I took it back for repairs. I was told they only needed a few days.
3 weeks later I’m told my truck was done. While they did address many of the issues some still remained. My decals were attached 2 inches below where they should’ve been, there was a paint drip on the back of the cab and they didn’t put the stone guard decals on. When i inquired about the missing decals I was basically blown off.
6.5 weeks for a job that shouldn’t have taken more than 2 + lack of communication + poor workmanship + $$$$ = FAIL!
I do not take any joy in criticizing Curley and Red’s but if you at all want your car to look new or like it hasn’t had bodywork, take your vehicle elsewhere.

I had to have some major work done to the front end of my 2003 Corvette (don’t ask!) and the repairs were done on time and on budget. Oscar couldn’t have been more helpful in seeing me through the trauma. And, I’ve had to use their tow service as well which came immediately to my rescue.
It’s nice to have Oscar and the guys here on the coastside. It’s good to know they have my back if I need them.

Great service, great people, and great work. Oscar was amazing. My car was hit and had minor damage. It looks brand new with perfect matching paint. They handled all the insurance and rental car stuff for me. All I did was drop my car off and pick it up a few days later. They even gave me a little bottle of my exact paint color to keep. I highly recommend Curley & Reds. Fantastic work ethic & skills.

My car battery got discharged at home and got this company to do a super quick jumpstart. Sure they came over quick, got it done quick, hardly said a word what to do next — and didnt give ANY INSTRUCTIONS to me to keep my car running to properly charge my car! The mechanic saw me turn off the car as I all said my thank you’s and sign the receipt when the service was «done» in 5 mins. So as I call them back after 10 mins when about to use the car, they want me to pay again $$ to start it! Total rip off!!! So unprofessional!

My car was hit from behind in a minor fender bender and the other person’s insurance company told me to go to Curly & Red’s to get my car fixed. I had never been in an accident before and I certainly never go to auto body shops, so I was clueless as to how the procedure would work. However, I dropped Curly & Red’s an email and a guy named Oscar promptly called me back, explaining everything. He helped me arrange a rental car from Hertz in Burlingame and less than 3 days after I dropped my car off, it was ready!
Oscar was easy to contact through phone, and if you had to leave a message he called back as soon as possible. He was personable, very nice and definitely knows his car stuff! I felt like my car was in good trustworthy hands. He made the whole process from start to finish really effortless for me. The work that was done looks immaculate. I got a brand new bumper and you can’t even tell that it was once dented. They even cleaned the inside and outside of my car! The whole drama of dealing with insurance companies is bad enough but Curly & Red’s made it really easy for me. I will definitely go back if I need to and recommend this place to my friends and family.

Curley and Red’s illegally towed my car! Without the presence and written authorization of the owner of a parking lot (which we paid the fee and had the reciept hanging on the rearview mirror). They said it was our word against thiers and towed us. Bad Business practices. Do not use this company.

When you have an emergency and you’re in need, calling Curley & Reds is like having a friend, indeed!
We had a customer with a FORD F250 on our moving truck that needed to deliver out to San Gregorio. While the area is beautiful, it’s really a challange for big trucks, especially our 53′ trailers with a conventional sleeper tractor. We push the envelope on length with our state of the art equipment.
Due to a last minute failure by another vendor out in Fremont, we headed to Half Moon Bay trying to get as close as possible. About 5 minutes before arriving in town, we called Curley & Reds and spoke to Nick. Originally we were just going to have him let us use his flatbed to take it off our truck and the customer was going to meet his car in Half Moon Bay. Nick quoted us a 47% discounted rate for that service. But then our customer advised that he had a change in plans and needed door to door delivery.
On the spot Nick was able to arrange the delivery to our customer! Not only that, but they faxed our paperwork to us promptly and promised the original paperwork to go out in the mail the same day!
I love when one business is able to help another business keep a customer happy! Thanks Nick!

It wasn’t a white horse, but a big white truck that came to my rescue Thursday night. It was 8pm and I was on my way home from the airport. When I got to my car my tire was low, but the garage filled it with air, and said to check it on my way home. I made it to Hwy 92 going up the hill when the tire gave out. I gave C&R a call, and within 20 minutes, the owner was there with the huge flatbed to the rescue. When it comes to service and great positive attitude, Curley and Reds are the one to call.
