At first this place seemed really good. It had great rates on savings accounts, so I opened one a few years ago. However, since it was father away then my other bank, I decided not to use them for a regular checking account. I also didn’t like that when I made a deposit after hours, it is just basically a drop box and I got no receipt. I want proof that I’m leaving my money there. So I went on and let my savings account gain interest and checking on it periodically. Then one day it was gone. After contacting them I found out that since I had not made any deposits or withdraws from it in 3 years, they closed it and sent my money to some unclaimed money place. When asked why they didn’t call, they said they did not have my information. Not true since my phone number has been the same for 10 years. Now I am trying to figure out how to get my money back.

They’re employer based, with over 3000 employers as business partners, as well as multiple chambers and associations which through, you can be eligible for membership. Don’t hesitate to call and find out if you qualify.
They are a full service financial institution with loans for most any need and a range of accounts. They have a financial advisor available to speak with. They also work with auto brokers if you’re looking for help finding a car.
Being a credit union member has plenty of perks. Sometimes they offer discounts on products and services through programs they have. You may be eligible for lowered car insurance costs for being a member. Plus the obvious reasons of being local, giving back to your community, and being part owner of the financial cooperative. They have very competitive rates.
If you’re worried about convenience, know that Oregonians (OFCU) is part of the co-​op network, which is a network of ATM’s (usually credit unions) that you can use surcharge-​free. They’re also part of the shared branching network, which is a long list of credit unions that allow you to use their branches for basic services if you’re out of the area of your credit union. OFCU has E-​teller, direct deposit, debit cards, an android and iPhone app, and even mobile deposit capture.
