For anyone looking for a tremendously insightful, safe, and experienced horseback riding instructor (for both beginning and advanced riders) look no further than Black Rock Stable. Owner and head trainer Karen Cadwalader has been teaching out of her small private stable for over 37 years and also led the equine programs at several colleges including Ohio University, Harcum College, etc. She was personally trained under 2 time Olympian Bruce Davidson and brings an absolute wealth of knowledge having also competed in and won several national and international competitions.
From chatting I also learned that Karen holds a degree in education and is working towards her masters in Edu and uses her horses as a therapy outlet for children and adults with anxiety, ADD, and even Autism.
It honestly doesn’t get much better than this. Her practice has been published in the Philadelphia Inquire, Mainline times and most recently in Gladwyne Living.
