Countryside Pet Resort, Training & Event Center

I boarded my Lab here last week and was pleased with the cleanliness of the facility. And my boy came home happy and clean. Would recommend it to my friends with dogs.

Although Countryside is open on Sundays, (4−6pm) read their website carefully! Any pet who stays past 1 pm on the day that they are picked up is charged for that day! THEREFORE ANY SUNDAY PICK-​UP WILL INCUR ANOTHER FULL DAY BOARDING CHARGE — MIGHT AS WELL LEAVE THEM TILL MONDAY!
My question is — why be open on Sundays for Pick-​up, if I’m going to be charged, anyway? The owner’s answer, «It’s just like a late check out at a hotel. If you check out late in a hotel, you get charged for that night, too.»
Not at ANY hotel I’ve ever stayed at! (They ether do it as a courtesy, or hold your luggage, but I’ve never been charged for a night that I didn’t sleep in that hotel.) Her next response was that she, «could just NOT be open on Sunday so that no pick up was available.» Well, yes, she could, and then I would either pick up on Monday — since I was charged for the extra night anyway — or STAY SOMEPLACE ELSE THAT’S OPEN ON SUNDAYS AND NOT GET CHARGED!
Or, here’s another thought: have Sunday hours from 11:00 — 1:00, that way customers don’t get charged for another day!
Look, I understand some sort of surcharge for having Sunday hours — another boarding facility had a flat rate charge of $ 10 for Sunday pick-​up. But with two dogs who arrived on Saturday at 11, and were picked up at 4:12 on Sunday (again, they opened at 4) I was charged $ 136. For one night.
I don’t understand boarding in the Austin metro area. This is the second time that I have encountered a similar practice (see my review for «Action Pack Dog Center» — that one ended better.)
Look: if you’re going to own a business and provide a service, and charge for it — then ACTUALLY PROVIDE A SERVICE! This wouldn’t fly in any other business that I can think of…
On a positive note: We used this facility because they had a classified ad on our HOA website. It did seem clean, and the dogs were happy and healthy when we got them.

We recently had to go out of town for a funeral and needed a place to take care of our dog. My parents used Countryside years ago so I called them up. They were able to take our dog on short notice, and were super-​nice. You can tell they love animals and the facility was very clean. I felt better knowing our girl was well cared for and didn’t have to worry while we were gone. They also have extras like daily yard/​one-​on-​one time and grooming.

WONDERFUL PLACE! I have a deaf/​blind dog who needed day care. I was looking for a place that would allow me to help my dog transition into the area instead of just being thrown into a kennel. The folks here allowed me to walk my dog around, spend time with him in the yard and kennel. That made such a difference! He know goes there with no problems and understands that I will return. This place also took my kitty for daycare even though they did not official offer that service. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, the facility is very clean and the price is extremely reasonable.

Been leaving our dogs there for several years and no problems. We have been very happy with Countryside. Our dogs come home worn out and look at going there as a vacation and a great time to bark at other dogs.
