I don’t think I’ve ever had such subpar sushi in my life. The food was delivered over an hour after I placed my order. The rice was overcooked and way too sticky. Rather than using cucumber in their rolls they used lettuce. I ordered two shrimp tempura rolls, a spicy tuna roll and a spicy salmon roll. I even couldn’t bring myself to eat much of we ordered as it just tasted disgusted. The miso soup was about the only thing that was palatable. Totally waste of 30 bucks.

Use to love this place because their delivery was usually under an hour, but recently it’s been over an hour and delivery man isn’t that nice and polite, the rolls are big but they tend to forget some items from my order. Very disappointed.

We order from here all the time for two reasons: 1) Their sushi rolls are pretty decent, not too much rice at all, but sometimes they’ll give a huge chunk if avocado and miniscule fish, so if you love salmon avocado like me, order at your own risk. 2) 8 rolls for $ 30 bucks, and one of them is a special roll? I’m referring to Party Platter A, but it’s a deal with decent sushi that can’t be found anywhere else. But a major complaint: their delivery service sucks. If you think you’ll be hungry in an hour or hour and a half, then order, or else be prepared to wait a long time. We order from them so often and they always give us the excuse«we’re really busy tonight.» And I don’t know if it’s done on purpose, but the times we ordered on Seamless and paid with tip on there, versus paying tip in person, the food has always come later with prepaid tip. We would boycott but we can’t say no to the party platter.

Ordered(2) Salmon Teriyaki platter. The salmons was so thin, california rolls were a mess and not tightly rolled, the salad was the smallest I’ve ever seen, and rice was not fresh. Each going for $ 12 is a rip off. I’d rather go to H-Mart on Francis Blvd and get freshly cooked high quality food for $ 10-$ 12. This is what happens when chinese people sell Japanese foods. Things are in lower quality to skim every profit possible.

This review is bases on delivery only. I’ve never actually eaten there. Whenever I have a sushi craving at home, this is my go to order spot. The fish is always fresh and they don’t overdo the rice like some other places. The cooked food is also good, but I feel like those portions are small. I like the fact that they also take credit cards. I also order the party platters for when I need to bring something to a potluck party. It’s pretty affordable and a crowd pleaser.

Vegetable tempura is okay. Kind of greasy. Rolls are poorly made. Food is cheap so you get what you pay for

Not bad! Friend and I came here for a quick lunch, and we made it in time before their lunch options ended. Pretty decent food for what you pay. I ordered the lunch option spicy tuna with 2 salmon nigiri and 1 shrimp, which comes with miso soup and salad for $ 6.95. They serve you with a lot of fish in the rolls, which is pretty good tasting(I love spicy tuna!), and the fish is fresh. My friend ordered the chicken katsu bento, which came with siomai, miso soup, and salad(also for $ 6.95). Service was quick– it’s such a small place that they pay attention to your needs. We were in out for dine-in services within 1 hour. Will definitely come back to try their other rolls.

My go-to for cheap sushi delivery. Their prices are a steal in comparison to Manhattan. Their food tastes clean and the sushi-rice ratio is perfect and the taste is on point. I wasn’t a fan of their hibachi fried rice because it hardly came with any meat and there were clumps of plain old white rice. I’d say skip it and go for the sushi. Their chicken teriyaki was also filling but it was kind of bland for me and I’m usually the one who can’t tolerate too much sodium. The delivery man was also super nice which is a rarity in NYC. I would definitely order from here again on my cheat days. I was a little hesitant about leaving a review on Unilocal because it attracts way too many people and I may have to wait longer for deliveries as a result but I think this place deserves a few more stars.

My first time here. I just ordered a lunch special for $ 6.95 online and it was totally worth it! 6 spicy eel rolls, two salmon and one shrimp with miso soup and salad on the side. Everything was fresh too. Will order from here again :)

this place is solid. always fresh clean food, very good, but not the best, sushi around at fair prices. I’ve eaten here plenty of times and the store is clean and orderly. the delivery man is always polite and delivery ranges from 25min-60min depending on how many people are ahead of you. if you’re looking for fair sushi at fair prices, this is the go to spot in this part of queens!

Life-saving sushi. The lunch special, two rolls for 7 bucks, has kept me sane more than a handful of times. I’m here all the time, have tried most of the menu, and have never been disappointed. This is a great way for St. John’s kids to get fresh seafood at a decent price. Everything is fresh and delicious every time. You aren’t not paying for top notch service here, but well worth whatever you spend. Highly recommend the special rolls, udon, and teriyaki lunches.

I order for delivery from this place every Friday, ALWAYS. It takes about an hour being that it is Friday, but trust me its worth it. I usually get a Hanada roll, a tuna roll and a small salad on the side. The sushi here is fresh and on point. The only con about this place is dining in, the service is horrible. The waitress doesn’t greet you, doesn’t smile, very inattentive, so don’t even bother… last time I went I didn’t want to leave a tip it was so bad. Overall that doesn’t stop me from ordering takeout :-)

I ordered delivery from them, just to try a different place in the area and I wasn’t super enthused. They were pretty quick in delivering which was nice, but I’ve definitely had better sushi for about the same price from other local sushi places.

From what I’ve known talking to the delivery guy, they are a family owned business, and from what I see, they are doing a very good job so far. I’ve never had the pleasure of dining inside the restaurant, so my experience is solely based on the food and the delivery. The delivery guy is the same one and he is always nice and polite to me. — and he is not bad on the eyes. –Hey, I’m just looking and I’m not dead, so don’t judge me. :P So when Asian persuasion come strolling along with my $ 50+ order(my monthly treat for me and the co– workers) he takes more than ninety minutes from when I order, to when it gets to me. It could be since I order so much or because I’m in the Bayside area. All the food is always counted for, and there is plenty of pickled ginger for me to snack on with my sushi. Many rolls I like to try over and over. Try any of the spicy or tempura rolls. I myself do not care to order the Philly roll or the Boston roll. More because there is cream cheese in them, and I’m one in my opinion who feels that maybe straight up cream cheese should not be in a sushi roll. All the food is delicious, except I’m not too crazy about the soups they offer here.

I was excited for this local sushi place to open up when they were renovating the little plaza area a few years ago! New Tokyo seems to be a family-owned business. I remember checking this place out when they first opened, and I haven’t stopped since. They have an awesome lunch menu… I always opt for the lunch special that comes with two rolls, salad, and soup for about $ 7! And the lunch special doesn’t end until around 3 or 4pm. Their udon and Hibachi fried rice are also on point if you’re tired of sushi. The restaurant itself isn’t ginormous — they have three tables that seats four, one that seats two, and a mini bar that can seat about three people. Just to be safe, I recommend dining in or picking up — sometimes their delivery can be a little while, unless you live really close!

I’ve never eaten in the restaurant so my review is only for delivery. This is my go to place when I want sushi at home. I usually get the 3 roll deal that comes with miso soup. The sushi is average for the price– you get what you pay for size wise. It’s fresh but I don’t expect to be wowed when I order from here. My only gripe is when I order a spicy roll with«crunch» it’s stale and definitely not crunch-y.

Let me first say that its family owned and I know they are doing OK so coming from a very low working asian class family i can understand the struggle. The food is in itself A-OK. I usually get it when Im having a bad day and its does its job to make me feel better. Normal price. Place is small but its not meant for that anyways. I mean if you want sushi that is just THERE and its close to you then go for it. Just don’t expect OMGITSAMAZING. They do their best for their prices and its not some Manhattan place where you pay 50 a plate.

There is cooked sushi here! No longer am I banished to the nether regions when my friends want sushi and I must say, «I don’t like raw fish» No, now I can order chicken tempura and salmon tempura rolls like the cooked meat lover I am. There are also NOAVOCADOSINMYROLLS! After that love affair ends I can go onto the NOODLES. The wondrous noodles. The soups are wonderful and the stir-fry is a personal favorite. BEWARNED: They say the stir-fry isn’t spicy, THEYLIE. They don’t mean to I’m sure but it is a lie. Delivery takes some serious time, so don’t order when you are actually hungry. Order right before that so you can not starve(20−45mins) waiting for it to get there.
