I can’t give negative stars so I’ll give 1. We ordered our food at 7:40 off of seamless, estimated 30 – 40 minute delivery time. After 45 minutes we called to check on the status of our food, they had no idea what we were talking about. Apparently their fax machine«got stuck» and no one had checked it within the hour. They offered no apologies and told us they would make the order now, but if the fax got stuck then how did they know what it was we ordered? We live 4 blocks down by the way. Told us food should be there in 20 minutes. 40 minutes later we call for another update only to be answered to by a very rude man who asked us why if there was a problem we hadn’t called earlier… Ok. Finally a whopping hour and a half after we ordered, our food arrived. One of the orders was wrong, the fries were extremely greasy and not in the yum way, and the fries were cold. The pickles were good but packaged uncovered in an open plastic bag with the cold slaw container. Pickle juice leaked everywhere just to add insult to injury. Chose this place because i just wanted something decent and local after a long day, but I’d rather eat the dirt off my front lawn before ordering from here again.

I placed an order online, and after waiting forever, realized the diner messed it up. I called to let the diner know and was promised a new order. Over 45 minutes later, I did not get my new order. Why would it take 45 minutes to make a salad and a wrap and deliver it around the corner? And when I asked for a refund, I was told I would have to wait for the delivery man to pick up my messed up order. Wait, for whoever knew how long, for a refund for food I already waited over 45 minutes for. Would never again order from this place.

This space would better be used as a small casino. Slot Machines on the lower level. Tables up at the top. Change the counter to a bar. Cover the windows. Dim the lights. Close the kitchen. Get rid of the food. Fire the staff. They tried. The experiment failed. End of story.

I usually come here for breakfast when it’s on the way to a destination. Service here has always been gold and attentive. The breakfast items I’ve had have always been done well. It’s practically everything you’d expect from a diner, no frills with various options, huge portions, edible but nothing to write home about.

Never again. I should have read the reviews first and that would have saved me money, time and energy. I ordered on Seamless for delivery what I thought was a simple fried egg on a toasted bagel with coffee. I got a bacon egg and cheese bagel and coffee. Simple mistake, no problem right? Except that I’m not consuming bacon or cheese currently with my diet. The eggs were a treat. So I call to just let them know and to please send the correct order, and I was met with a «can you just take off the bacon?» The ultimate smack in the face to someone who specifically and intentionally ordered a meatless meal. I would’ve been fine with just being given a simple apology and some empathy(which didn’t happen) and a new sandwich, but that response was irritating and I ate my breakfast at lunchtime by the time the delivery guy came back. I’m a foodie and we can either be a businesses best friend or their worst nightmare. Everyone at my lab loves my food recommendations and they will be hearing about this place, but not as a recommendation for breakfast.

Décor: dark, hot, gloomy Breakfast; runny eggs, stale potatoes stored from 1978, frozen spinach, coffee left in pot from 1985 All in all I’d give it a zero. Terrible diner

Since I read the previous reviews on Unilocal before coming here, I decided I wouldn’t order anything large as I do not want to be spending a lot of money on an expensive dish that isn’t up to par. This was the only place that was open late within walking distance, so despite the negative reviews, I decided to give it a shot. I’ve given plenty of good reviews that go against the mass, so why not right? We ordered the Three Meat Omelet and Chicken Wings, totaling to be about $ 20 after tips. The Three Meat Omelet was lacking in eggs, causing my omelet to be broken up into several parts. The meats(ham, bacon, sausage) were okay I suppose. The Chicken Wings, drowned in Buffalo sauce, definitely were frozen. No amount of sauce could mask the taste of the sour wings. While we were waiting for the food, a roach fell from the ceiling and landed on my pants. We told the server and he politely picked it up and let it outside. I did take a picture, but I don’t have the heart to post it, so I won’t. Despite these negative circumstances, our server was extremely polite so I decided to give them one extra star. He constantly came over to check on us and give us updates on our order. My heart goes out to anyone willing to work that late and is still friendly to customers, as I’ve had many negative late night experiences.

I’ve ate here twice. The first time I had a chicken cesar wrap. Something very basic that even I make at home. Just nasty. Hardly any chicken, wrap tasted bleh. Lettuce wasn’t crisp at all. And I am a person that is very open minded to flavors and foods. Fine, I gave them the benefit of the doubt thinking it was the cook they had that day. The last time was the last straw. I wanted something even more simple this time — a cesar salad with NO chicken. Which is literally lettuce, croutons and dressing. The diner had maximum 5 people in it. I stood at the counter for about 10 minutes. A woman passed me twice, didn’t even asked me if I was being helped. I just stood there like an idiot. Then, even when I went to sit down, she didn’t acknowledge me! Like wtf, these people weren’t taught a damn thing about customer service. On the verge of getting up to leave, finally some guy gives me attention noticing I haven’t been helped. I place my order. Took about 10 minutes for me to get my food. Pay. Leave. I only get a 40 minute break, so I spent the vast majority of my break just waiting for someone to acknowledge me. I was just about to place an order for pick up right now, until I came across their Unilocal account. Which I am glad I did. I will never order from here again. If I could give zero stars, I would. Word of advice Dolphin diner: Invest in a new chef, invest in teaching your employees about customer service. I wouldn’t be surprised if your establishment gets reported to the BBB or shut down.

Just bought a cake. Took food to go. I’m in shock! A very small piece. For $ 12 all other restaurants of pieces is 2 times more! I am very upset! By the way, I had to wait a long time.

I ordered the $ 15 shrimp with sauce, thinking for this price the shrimp would either be large or at least a lot of quantity. There were only 6 small pieces of shrimp… For $ 15! What a rip off.

DISGUSTING!!! MY food was old and reheated, flavor less. Worst of all and sickening was the éclair I received with the mold inside. If I didn’t order so late I would have told the restaurant but I e-mailed eat24 and, will call the store in the morning.

First time eating at this diner… I had no idea it was there… even though we live around. The place is big and clean. It’s pretty new, a plus for me as most diners tend to be old and dirty. Definitely not the case here. We both had a brunch special, a pretty good deal(about 13 $ each). It came with coffee, and a choice of bread pudding –rice pudding or jelly. The food was good. My French toasts were delicious as well as the grits and the bread pudding. The rest was pretty standard. Our plates were big and filling. Plan some time to digest after all that food. Overall, a good experience. We would come back as it’s really close to my house and we love diners.

Never come here. If I can give no stars I would… This diner closes at 12am and when we walked in it was 1130. I wasn’t aware that they close at midnight. But they sure showed me. They were shutting off the light so we could leave always coming by the table and asking if we are done. Very rude. If they couldn’t take us they should have not allowed us in. It was rushed and very rude. Kept asking if we want the food to go while I’m eating it. I am a paying customer and was never so upset in my life. Never coming here again. So upset!!!

Pretty cool low key spot the feel is very old school kinda like the 1960s but the food was delicious and staff was very homely and welcoming even though our server kept forgetting a few of our items it didn’t take away from her very pleasant service. Loved the apple cinnamon side that was given to top the pancakes. I definitely think they should add a cinnamon apple French toast to the menu(I had to put them on my French toast it was to die for). Will be back with friends soon.

So I ordered at 10pm on February 22. It’s 11:47pm now and I still don’t have my delivery. I ordered an ice cream sundae and chocolate milk so the order isn’t complicated. Very upsetting. First time and never will again.

The vast amount of negative reviews speak volumes about the Godawful establishment. This used to be the location of «Cornerstone» diner which was an excellent well run eatery. Many of the employees used to work at the long time«Fame Diner» which was located across from St. Johns University. It was a shame when they closed there doors only to be later opened by this oddball crew of unorganized misfits. This place is horrible. Nothing they do from the minute you walk in until you leave is considered professional or even pleasant. I will reiterate my story and experience quickly. I order an extremely SIMPLE item. One every diner under the sun knows how to correctly make. It is even a staple item at places like IHOP or chain diners like Mel’s or Denny’s. I ordered a Belgian Waffle. Simple right? You know batter with a scoup or two of ice cream on top, syrup and powdered sugar. Take a GOOD look at the picture which is exactly what I got when the waiter delivered it to my table! Actually he did not even know what powered sugar was and brought me a small bowl/saucer of granulated table sugar!!! WTF?! Look at the pic. At least he did not actually pour it over the waffle and why was the single scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side in a separate dish!!! Why did I get 3 dishes with everything separate instead one ONE dish with the waffle, POWDEREDSUGAR, ice cream TOGETHER! OMG how insane and dumbed down of a staff does this place employ.
