Horrible service. Very rude to an expecting mother. Left lot of things behind. Wouldn’t go for it.

I had an awful experience with this moving company. Among other things, they left some of stuff. I had to make arrangements the next day to move the remaining things. I had to reschedule the cleaning, which cost me more and of course I paid much more for the move than the original estimate.
I would not recommend this company to anyone. Not even to my worst enemy.

First off I want to say Jay and Antoine were awesome. They were fast, efficient and very friendly. The price wasn’t bad at all as well. I have called and researched a lot of moving company and Unirelo by far has the best rates. I’m not sure if you can request a mover but if you can make sure to ask for Jay and Antoine.
The appointment process was very easy as well. I spoke with Usha and she answered all my question and gave me a quote right away. The whole process took 5 mins and then she sent me the questionnaire for the move, she was very nice.
We were moving from SF to Fremont with another stop in Union city. Jay and Antoine were able to do all of this in 3 hours. They were very efficient and you really get your money’s worth! They made the whole moving process stress free.

Avoid these guys at all costs.
I used UniRelo for a move from Pleasanton to Oakland. The movers were 4 hours late and I had no communication with the company until after I left two messages and wrote multiple emails AFTER the 2-​hour delivery window had expired (the service was so poor that I considered reporting them to the BBB) The company was remorseless, continually claiming the 4 hour delay wasn’t their fault and, therefore, not their problem. As a result of the significantly delayed move, I had to cancel other installations I had previously booked at the Oakland apartment, which actually delayed us living in the unit.
I made it very clear that I needed the shipment within a specific time frame or I would be happy to find someone else. They were very courteous during the booking process and ‘opened’ an appointment for me, confirming that they have the ability to do the shipment within the specified time frame (I was VERY clear that I needed the move before a specific hour). However, they were 4 hours late and didn’t care at all. They claimed it wasn’t their fault because other moves took longer than expected. Basically, they squeezed me into a window that didn’t exist, and lied to say they could handle the appointment.
They were unresponsive and unhelpful during and after the move. I would have rather done this move myself.
The movers themselves were fine, although they scratched up some of my furniture.

I used UniRelo for a local move from Palo Alto to San Francisco, after seeing fantastic reviews on Unilocal and Thumbtack.
I had pretty high expectations after reading all the positive reviews, and I wasn’t disappointed! Ardash was timely, helpful, and friendly in responding to messages. I needed to reschedule my moving date for a logistical reason, and the ease of communicating with him made it a breeze.
The movers were on time and called when they were on the way, and overall efficient with the process and nice to work with. I didn’t have much furniture (or particularly expensive furniture), but did not notice any damages after.
Cost-​wise, I was quoted $ 99/​hour for two movers (comparable with other quotes I received), with a $ 150 deposit upfront that’s applied towards the total cost.

Here is my story… Booked through Khushali Dattani (
, (510) 870‑4999). She is a big liar. I booked packing service as well. As per the service, I should get heavy duty boxes, a packer who will pack my Tv and other house hold stuffs. A man was too late, didn’t show up in window time, poor quality of boxes were there (even my old box was better than him), He messed up completely my stuffs while packing. I was keep calling to Khushali and her team members, nobody picked up the call. And next day, I had to fly to India from SFO. I had no option and couldn’t do much. I felt so handicapped and getting all the shit.
After few weeks got the bill to pay and it was more than what we were agreed. They ask also late fee if you don’t pay per them. For billing part, I am screwed. I paid whatever they asked and couldn’t do anything…
Time to deliver, shipment was about to reach, got the email and call about to submit original passport. I was completely un-​aware about it. And need to pay port fee and custom duty fee as well. But it was agreed to pay by UniRelo. Again, shit came to me.
Conclusion — service is shit hole, no manner, all of them liar, cheater and don’t take their service at all…
I wish I could give them negative rating… Advise — Don’t use their service at all.

Quoted $ 99 per hour for 2 men to move my stuff. Was up sold by charming owner a 3 man crew for $ 129. Paid a deposit of $ 150. Next day I call back to change date to two days later and the reception is decidedly cooler and he advised it will cost me $ 149 because of the switch. I’ve already paid deposit so I’m screwed and agree. (First red flag)
Guys show up and are as extremely pleasant as they are EXTREMELY slow. Literally takes 15 – 20 min to wrap each piece of furniture as they stop to chat in between. All in all, to move a two bedroom apartment it takes 5 ½ hours — and the location is only 15 minutes away. Granted we do drop some things off at storage but the storage unit is literally only 6 – 7 min away from new house and literally on the way. Entire move ends up costing me $ 931 for only 1 trip, 15 minutes away, using a 26 foot truck. I was floored and sick to my stomach but I had no choice but to pay.
Note: the other reviews that mention fast service say the lead mover was Lovelace. My lead mover was Steve, so pricing and speed could vary by lead mover. Again the guy was very nice and talkative during the move but didn’t seem to be able to multitask and do both at the same time. My advice is to get a contract ahead of time that states an overall flat fee for your move, instead of hourly because they WILL screw you over-​with a smile.
Update based on owner comments:
In response to owner comments, it’s true that we had a 3 bedroom apartment but 1 room was not touched at all– I’m not sure why that would be factored into the moving cost.
I called back the next day to switch from Tues to Thurs which was the reason he charged me $ 20 more per hour. During the conversation that all took place via email within an hour, we did discuss pros and cons of keeping Tuesday date and coming back Thursday. Ultimately he suggested that one trip with one 26 foot truck and 3 guys would be more economical and stressed that the minimum fee was 2 hours. I took his advice.

We used UniRelo last weekend to move from a 2 bed apartment in Noe Valley to a place in Bernal Heights. We were sent a team of 3 movers (Dow, Lamont and Antoine) and they did a fantastic job. The entire job (from arrival to signing the paperwork once everything had been unloaded) took only 3 and a half hours, which I thought was very impressive.
Dow, Lamont and Antoine were very friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend for a move within SF.

This was my first experience with this company and I am very pleased. They arrived very promptly, were efficient and polite, and worked quickly and quietly. They safely moved everything in and out as requested. The next day I realized we were missing a small lamp and I called them to report it. They called me back in a timely manner and said they would deal with it and call me. I received a call back within a short period of time telling me the object had mistakenly remained on the truck. It was a small object of metal — probably blending in with the truck — and I can see how it could easily have been missed. They promised to deliver it the next day which they did at the time promised. Very good service. We were helped by Lovelace and Darrell or Darrin — not sure of the second name. They did a great job. I would definitely use this company again.

UniRelo did a fantastic job moving my stuff from Madurai, India to the US.
When I was doing my research to find the right shipping company for my needs, I noticed that there was a lot of helpful information regarding moving from US to India, but not much info about the move in the other direction. I heard good reviews from a friend about UniRelo for USA-​India move, but they couldnt vouch for India — US relocation.
When I first emailed Unirelo about my requirements, I was shown the website. But it really did not have all the answers I was looking for to address my specific questions. So I called and spoke to a UniRelo rep. They took note of my request and put me in contact with Ms.Usha. At that time, I was not confident how well this was going to go because it was clear to me at that my request to move from India to US was, somewhat uncommon.
My cargo included a 6ft steel almirah, an old wooden swing, an old sewing machine (which is celebrated as an antique now a days !), about 800+ old books, couple of steel trunks, lots of old vessels, pots, pans, small wooden furniture etc. Over all, the items were just regular household stuff, worthless in terms of money, but priceless in terms of sentiments. I made this point clear to Ms. Usha that I want my shipment to arrive in good shape.
Until then I was only making enquiries and not really sure if I can actually move these items to US easily and at an affordable cost. After my first conversation with Usha, somehow I began to feel confident that this project can in reality be a success.
From then on, until the boxes arrived in my house in US, every step was executed with total care and professionalism. Initially I had loads of questions for Usha so that I could decide if it was even worth the while to proceed with the project. She was patient with my questions, and was honest with her answers. There was zero sales pitch.
On the scheduled day, a truck was sent from Chennai which arrived promptly at the scheduled time. The local office at Chennai kept in contact with me via phone and followed up with the packing/​shipping process at Madurai until the loading process and insurance paper work was complete. There was one driver and one other person who efficiently completed the packing and loading job in about 3 hours. The items were packed and loaded into the truck with utmost care. At that time I was told that the boxes will be unloaded/​reloaded at their Chennai warehouse.
I was a bit concerned if my old fragile items will survive another round of unloading/​loading…
It took just about 5 months from the date the items were boxed at Madurai till they were delivered in my US address. Although the time taken seems too long, there was some unexpected strike going on at the west coast San Francisco port so my cargo had to take a detour and it arrived quite late. Just when I was informed that the shipment had arrived at the local warehouse, I was not ready to receive the stuff at my house. UniRelo agreed to hold the shipment for a few extra days and then deliver it only when it was convenient for me.
The unloading process was smooth too. The men handling the job were very courteous, pleasant and they worked with me to make sure the boxes were handled with care, they followed my directions at each step, and put them where I wanted each box to be. When it arrived, the huge truck was blocking the entrance of the building which was causing some issues with the other tenants. So the UniRelo reps took care immediately of unloading the boxes quickly, placing them all in my garage, and then they moved the truck out to the street, and then came back and sorted out the boxes to carry them upstairs into the house.
They unpacked few of the boxes on my request and cleared out the debris as they left. They were in no hurry, took enough time and made sure that the items were placed exactly how I wanted them to be.
I was very happy to work with Ms. Usha who was my point of contact all through this project. Usha not only kept me well informed via email updates, but she was available whenever I wanted to talk to her on the phone. She had ready answers for all my concerns and for those that needed look-​up, she took my questions down and returned promptly with a response. I found Usha to be very approachable, easy to reach out to and genuinely caring that it almost felt like she was helping me as a friend rather than as a service provider.
What I am most impressed with is that this company treated me as if I was the most important customer for them. Going by the way my service contract was treated, I am convinced that they have a very high standard of customer service.
I dont think I will need to relocate anytime soon in the future. But if such a service was needed again, I know where to go.

Absolutely horrendous experience, This is a long due review, We moved last august from San Francisco Bay Area to Bangalore, India. The guy who comes to estimate the cu. ft of stuff you have does not even spend a minute doing a good job, he horribly underestimated the cu. ft our stuff will take, our quotes an everything else after that were based on his incorrect estimation. On the day of the move, I had blocked off an entire side curb at my place in San Francisco with my car to accommodate their truck, they showed up late, had major confusion. Four guys showed up however instead of starting on the packing and moving right away, two of them wanted to take off with the truck right away. I explained how hard it is to find parking here, but they could not care less, they unloaded packing materials in such a rush and drove off rudely. The two guys left had no one to supervise or help to support, and took their own sweet time to pack everything. They did not seem professional and at many instances I had to personally supervise and direct packing. After about 2 hours another one showed up, and within 10 mins — said they will head out for lunch and come back. All in all a really insensitive behavior to customers time on the day of packing. Guess what, as they packed all the stuff took it their warehouse to palletize and weigh, they call us back and mention that the actual is 150% of the estimate they provided, and therefore will be an additional $ 2000, at this point we do not have a choice, we had to go by what they had to mention. Really ridiculous, utter rip off. They charged us $ 200 each for two TV boxes on top of all that. I can understand an estimate off by 10% or 20%; 55% above an estimate, and we have actually been selling things off in the time between the estimate and the actual day of packing. Horrendous!
Our stuff lands in Bangalore after three months, guess what every single furniture we have has a chip or dent or damage. Just cannot use them or keep them in the living room with all the damage. Further, Porcelain cups broken atleast a dozen, collectibles cracked or chipped, except the two TV’s and my music system every other furniture suffered damage. I actually have pictures to prove this, their insurance after all the hassle of putting in a claim, paid us $ 88. Honestly guys, I have moved plenty cross-​continents, you are the most unprofessional and careless movers I have ever met.
The WORST: They missed an entire box of my electronics, this had my TV power cords, my Home theatre power cords, atleast 6 hdmi cables, $ 200 universal remote, wireless keyboards, RF toys, my Roku player and a whole bunch of other things. Now, I had two TV’s at my place in Bangalore, both run on 120V and no power cords, I cannot even buy them outside in India as India is on 220V cords.
Ridiculous, its been several months, and I am waiting for some friend of mine to visit India to actually bring me spare cords that I can ship from the US. Their response, Do not know what happened. We discovered this more than 45 days after our stuff landed and therefore Insurance will not cover it, let alone that — we had electronic equipment for which we had paid customs for the transfer that we could not use. UNPROFESSIONAL, CARELESS, CHEATING, RIP OFFS!, INSENSITIVE, ARROGANT is the way they behaved. I Would really recommend you think hard before engaging them for anything.

2 thumbs up for this moving company! I would definitely recommend this company for anyone in need of movers. I was running 45 min. late for the crew at my pickup destination and they still waited. Lovelace and crew (his brother) were awesome! And let me just say my move wasn’t the easiest at all! They were fast and packed my things accordingly. The move, I just had was the least stressful ever and I have had my share moves. Once again, thanks guys!!!

It took around 2 and half months for the transfer
They packed up the items from my house and unpacked at destination.
They also handled customs and corresponded with me to provide mail
