Richard K. Lee, MD

I am a health care provider myself, and I strive to provide for my own patients the kind of care that I want to receive when I am the patient. That kind of treatment is what I receive from Dr. Lee. He is a very good listener and a very good explainer. He is warm and personable and knowledgeable. He is respectful of my time and generous with his own time. His office is clean and neat.

1^st visit with Dr. Lee was a physical exam and was very good. He was very talkative, provided good information, and most importantly never made me feel rushed during my appointment; however all that was soon to end.
Following my physical I was told to have my blood drawn for 2 tests– glucose and a lipid profile, which require 12 hours of fasting beforehand. Little did I know until AFTER the fact, that Dr. Lee had only released 1 of the 2 tests to the lab.
In short, after fasting for 12 hours, taking time off work, and having an inch long needle stuck into my arm the lab could only conduct 1 of the 2 tests because «…the physician didn’t released the lipid profile test for some reason.» So, in order to have the OTHER lab test completed, I had to fast AGAIN for 12 hours, take time off work AGAIN, and have an inch long needle stuck into my arm… AGAIN.
Shortly after the lab test screw-​up I scheduled another appointment with Dr. Lee for wrist pain. This time around however, he was condescending, impatient, and was half way out the door while I was in mid-​sentence of asking him a question! Then when asked about why my lab tests hadn’t been released at the same time he simply dismissed the whole incident saying, «Oh, ok– well I’ll guess I’ll go ahead and release it now.» In short this was, by far, the most unpleasant doctor’s appointment I’ve ever had.

Yes, Casey is correct. Dr. Lee is a GP. And he is wonderful. According to our insurance company, he is not taking new patients at this time; but he’s worth the wait if you keep trying. He is an excellent doctor.
He is been our GP for over 20 years, and we have never, ever, been dissatisfied with his work. We are always amazed at how quickly he comes up with a diagosis, how well he explains things, and how he remembers from appointment to appointment little personal things we’ve told him. He is truly the best.

BTW Dr Lee is wrongly listed in Unilocal.He practices Internal Medicine at PAMF.
My family has been going to Dr Lee since the clinic first opened here in Fremont. We used to go to the clinic in Palo Alto when we lived across the bay. First… The Foundation is probably the very best facility in the entire Bay Area for general and specialist care. I have always been super impressed with the quality of care here and the specialists are some of the best in their field. Being a clinic all services are available at the facility itself. which is especially nice when you need tests, x-​rays, or blood work. I was so very happy when the Fremont facility opened because I was still driving across the bridge to get proper medical attention. We moved to Fremont over 22 years ago and the practicing Dr’s here were down right pathetic! I am of the mind that this is due to the lack of a decent hospital here. Because it is such a fine clinic you sometimes have to wait to see a specialists… but it’s worth the wait to get to the core of your problem from the start. They are so good you won’t been messing around with any guessing… they get it right from the start!
As for Dr. Lee… he’s the best for our family… especially my engineer husband who needs to have everything very thoroughly explained to him before he will trust anyone’s opinion. Dr Lee is very thorough and methodical, which we all appreciate. Besides being the best technically… UC Irvine educated, Dr lee is really caring. His beside manor is all business but you know you are not just another patient to him. He genuinely wants to be sure your problems get solved and you become healthy. I prefer to skip the touchy-​feelie approach when it comes to the health of my family… I want an expert! You will not be disappointed in Dr Lee if this too is your take on medical care.
