MY team was unbelievable to work with throughout our whole wedding planning process! I first called and spoke with Max, he was great to talk with and very helpful. Max explained to me all of my options and how they can customize it to fit our needs. He was very reassuring that they would capture everything we needed them to, and some, on our wedding day! Max came to our rehearsal to observe the environment and ensure the highest quality video that he later delivered. And they did just that! Max and his crew shot our wedding day; they arrived on time and captured every little detail. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience with the MY team. They were kind, professional, well thought out and just hung behind the scenes capturing it all. Our wedding day was the most perfect day; beautiful church, beautiful clouds above it, happy atmosphere, romantic videos from Palace of Fine Arts… All of those moments appear in our video. Max recently took family photos and we could not have been happier with the results! The photos are incredible — he has amazing talent for capturing natural shots that are stunning and so unique. He was also incredibly patient with our young daughters, and persistent to get great photos while allowing them to explore the park at their own pace to capture better shots of them since they got to choose which direction to walk. He picked the right time of day for the most flattering and gorgeous light. Plus, he’s very friendly, responsive and professional. These photos will brighten our home for many years to come. Will definitely hire him again!

My partner and I asked Max to do a photoshoot for us in San Francisco. We are both not picture people and have never gotten a photoshoot done before.
Max was amazing in a lot of respects.
He was punctual to begin with! And all through the evening, he made us both feel super comfortable in front of the camera. I had a rough idea of where I wanted pictures to be taken — Palace of Fine Arts, Golden Gate bridge and any beach location. Max helped navigate us to these areas and also found the best spots within these landmarks.
One thing I can vouch for is — Max has a fantastic eye for lighting. At Palace Of Fine Arts, Max was able to locate the most perfect lighting spots, played around with the shadows and wall textures really well.
Bonus points — He was also able to find a small beach at the end with amazing backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge and captured us drinking champagne while the sun was setting! It was the perfect end to the photoshoot.
We have a lot of great pictures from the photoshoot. I would not hesitate a bit to recommend Max to my family and friends!

Max photographed my wedding and was wonderful.

+ He was on time to the rehearsal and for the pre-​ceremony photos. We had a set amount of time for the pre-​ceremony photos at 4 different locations, and Max timed it out really well so we’d have enough time at each location and still get a lot of shots.
+ He suggested great posing tips and gave very positive feedback during the shoot. My husband and I don’t take photos often and he made us feel comfortable
+ We had a large bridal party (16 people total) and he handled the large crowd well
+ He processed the photos quickly and had everything done in 3 weeks.

We hired Max to photograph our wedding day and record our ceremony at the Bridges Golf Club. Max is extremely professional and has been so wonderful to work with. Our wedding day was the best day of our lives and Max captured so many beautiful pictures. We are so happy with the level of service that Max and his team provided. We couldn’t be happier that we picked Max as our photographer /​videographer for our wedding at Waikiki beach. Max and Sean did our engagement photos at Napa, which we were very satisfied. And on our wedding day, they took it a new level. Days before the event, his team arrived at Waikiki to prepare for the shooting. On our wedding day, the team is very efficient to cover every locations of the events. And they have already identified good spots and lighting settings before the event so we could get our best shots. Max worked with our wedding planner extensively so that our wedding went smoothly while they still get good opportunities to take pictures.
They got pretty professional high-​tech gears for the job. They brought very fancy electronic Gyro image stabilizer and a video rail system to ensure perfect leveling of our image. Also, they got a quadcopter drone to take our video at Waikiki beach, which drew a lot attention on the beach!
Max is so passionate of his works and pays attention to every detail. He and and his team definitely went beyond our expectation. Overall, finding Max was one of the best things of our wedding, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him for your big day or any other occasions!

Max was the best. We were recommended by a friend to hire Max as our photographer for our civil wedding. The initial communication was very smooth. Max always responded promptly and he understood our needs. On our wedding day, Max showed up on time and prepared. He guided us through the city hall like it is his backyard. He knew every good spot for pictures, and was very professional, creative and passionate all the time. We hired Max for a 2-​hr city hall package, but he kept shooting for more than 4 hrs! It was actually us who had to leave for work, otherwise Max would take more pictures for us without charging any extra fee!!! He really enjoyed the work and we are so pleased to work with him. I would say it was our best decision to have Max as our photographer and I would give him a 10-​star if I could!
I received Max’s work only after 2 – 3 weeks. I like every one of them. The original ones are already very beautiful by themselves, and the edited images are SUPER! I can tell he really put a lot of effort on each picture. He paid attention to every detail — from a small pimple to my messy hair. I also like the color tune of the picture. Everything just became shinny, like a magic! The photos I received from Max are way better than my engagement photos which I paid even more. Max’s price is very very reasonable. He even retouched more pictures than we requested. I highly recommend him to anybody. You wouldn’t regret! Thank you Max!

I thought it might be helpful for those of you that are in the same situation I was a few months before my wedding in June 2014: who should I hire as my photographer?
It’s not an easy decision, and likely you’re scouring Unilocal (obviously, since you’re reading this) and other sites, asking friends, searching Facebook, and then heading over to the photographer’s website to see examples of what they’ve done. Well, that was me. I searched meticulously, and must’ve visited 40 websites, contacted over 20 photographers, and debated quite a bit. Luckily, a friend of mine recommended that I speak with Max, check out his work, and just get to know him. Honestly, we got very lucky.
I reached out to Max and he suggested that I let him know when I was next visiting the wedding venue, and he would meet me there. I told him when I’d be there, and he showed up ahead of schedule. When I arrived, the wedding coordinator wanted to discuss some details, so Max told me not to worry and that he’d wait until I was ready for him. While I was busy, Max was walking around the property, and about 30 minutes later when I was ready for Max, he started telling me his ideas.
We were getting married at the Oceano Hotel, in Half Moon Bay, CA, and he knew that I wanted dramatic photos that take advantage of the location. During the 30 minutes Max spent walking around the property, he came up with a great gameplan: he wanted to add cliff photos, a session under the pier, as well as another session in the hotel lobby (which is open, lit, and very nice). I shared the tentative schedule, and he figured out the timing and the route to accomplish all of our sessions before the entrance to our guests. It was perfect. On the day of the wedding, my wife and I got ready, and Max executed his plan.
It wasn’t just that he thought about how to make everything happen, it was the EXTRA effort he put into the actual day, and the days leading up to the reception. He visited the hotel on his own a few times, and drove around the area to make sure that on the day of the reception, he had the route and look of each picture pre-​arranged. It’s rare that a photographer takes the extra time to do all the planning; if you haven’t been through this before, trust me it’s rare. On the day of your wedding, even if you have help, you still worry about the details (décor, wife’s hair and makeup, clothes, everybody being on time, food, flowers, etc.), so it’s nice when somebody else takes that responsibility on their shoulders, keeps you apprised of the plan, and makes you feel like there isn’t anything to worry about.
One other thing: Max is REALLY EASY TO TALK TO AND WORK WITH. You want a photographer that understands that it’s your day and that you’re the boss, but at the same time know how to guide the process without being overbearing — Max understands the pressures that a wedding brings, and knows how to keep his cool and be flexible when you need him.
Last thing (I was told to add this from my wife): there was no delay in his turnaround time of the photographs. This will be very important to you, I promise.
Just trust me: hire Max. You’ll be relieved when you do.

I attended a friend’s wedding, and Max was the photographer. I observed his team because I was looking for a photographer myself. They were very professional and considerate. I ended up hiring Max for some photography work, and he did not disappoint a bit!

Max was great. He came to our house, on time and prepared. He was great at setting up shots and got some really wonderful photos of our family (including a 3 month old and 7 year old). He was good at the kid photography, getting some real gems of both children.

Max was introduced by my extraordinary wedding planner shanshan xu. I’m glad that we booked Max for our wedding at Casa real ruby hill winery. Everything worked out so perfect, the flow of the video, the music he picked. My fiancé now husband and I just love everything. He knows how to catch the touching moment and made it in the Video. Although it is 13 minutes video clip, we knew in fact Max has made hundreds of cut to it. I strongly recommend Max :)

I recently Hired MY Photography to do some head shots of me for some commercial work I am promoting. Having been in the business for a few years now I had a lot of specific details I needed the photographer to deliver. From the initial onset of our first contact all the way through the process Max was very professional. He listened to my needs was willing to try all of my suggestions. We recently worked with Max to shoot our family pictures. Max was GREAT to work with and his pictures are AMAZING. He is very helpful, flexible, and patient. When it came time to think about how to celebrate my birthday, I got tagged by the pictures that Max posted on the Facebook. I checked out Max’s website and loved the pictures. So natural, so calm and so special! Immediately I knew what gift I want for my birthday: two sets of pictures: A set of family pictures and a set of fashion picture for myself.
Once the date and location were firm, Max took his time to chat with me and learn about personalities of my family and find out what things we liked in photographs. Max was very well prepared. He knew how to capture special moments, laughs, jumping… When it came to my fashion picture time, he showed me on some recommended poses and I felt like I was modeling.
