Exactly what we were hoping for: delicious burgers, fresh cut fries, and real deal milkshakes(the marshmallow shake was delish). CASHONLY

If you’re looking for a spot that offers delicious burgers, fresh cut fries, an incredible selection of milkshakes and a great atmosphere to eat at this is the place to go! Really reminds me of the In and Out franchise. Menu is simple, but everything is made to perfection and the food doesn’t give you that guilty feeling of over indulging like these other fast food joints do(Mcdonalds Burger King etc) — Two issues: they accept CASHONLY and WAITTIMES for your food is unfortunately LONG. There’s an atm machine in the gas station next door if you need to pull out money but fees are ridiculous so come prepared. We waited for almost 30 mins for 3 burgers, chili cheese fries, reg fries, XL drink and 2 milkshakes. Understandable that the building is extremely CRAMPED(fits like 5 skinny people in there) but they should extend it ?! On beautiful days you can sit and enjoy your meal on their picnic tables in the grassy area. Overall, the food was worth the wait and we enjoyed the scenery and every bite. I believe this place always has a crowd and I think the hours are weird(sometimes they’re closed for months at a time I think?) but we Will def come again.

Great burgers and shakes! Don’t expect to get your order at lightning speed, they do it the old fashion way. Nice outdoor space with clean benches to use.

We have been going to this place for way over 30 years and the only disappointment I ever had is going there during the period in the winter when the were closed for vacation and overall maintence! This place has never disappointed us as for the food quality or great flavor! We went there today and the food was stellar! The place does not look real fancy but don’t let that fool you, the quality will blow you away!!!

Average. If you go off of the hype you’re going to be disappointed like I did. After reading the reviews I came in expecting the best burger from Tacoma to Seattle, but was greeted with a mediocre burger. The burger itself is small(I got the triple). The bun is cheap and tasteless. Fries needed more seasoning and tasted not fresh. The burger overall was good but you can find good burgers anywhere. I was born and raised in Los Angeles so I was blessed/cursed with a plethora of great burger places from gourmet to mom and pop shacks. And no In n out is not the best burger I’ve had. If you are a real burger connoisseur, you will be disappointed. For the average burger fan, this might impress you.

After a long drive home from Olympic National Forest, my fiancé and I decided to try this little gem. We’d driven past it numerous times and it looked good. I’m a sucker for retro burger places. The butterscotch shake was heavenly and rich and my chili-cheese fries were coated with just the right consistency. However, this place seems like it could be borderline violating child labor laws. The pimply-faced high school girls working here were somewhat snotty. I found it odd how every single person who worked here was extremely young.

4 star seems rather high for this place. I have been to a bunch of burger places around tacoma area, and this one is definitely the worst so far. The burgers were pretty bland overall and the fries were cold and under seasoned. The Shake was okay. Overall I think Frugals is 10x better and cheaper overall. I think gourmet burgers and Leftys are better as well. I will never go back unfortunately. To be fair I dont think it deserves a 1 star but i also feel like 2 star might be a little high as well. This is a perfect half star situation.

Cash only! But that’s ok, because this place is amazing. What’s not to like about a seasonal, walk-up-only, burger stand? The food is top notch, the turn-around time is excellent when you consider the volume of customers and the typical order size, and the prices? Wow — all the way around, this place is a hit. Old fashioned food, old fashioned prices, old fashioned customer service and milkshakes that can’t be beat — I can’t wait to go back again.

This place is awesome. I have been working in fife for a long time and never stopped in. Man why didn’t I try this place out sooner?! Everything was very fresh and mouth watering. When it gets warmer I will try their Milkshakes. From what I could see they looked like the 50’s style. If you haven’t stopped in you are missing out! They ONLYTAKECASH!

This place was amazing. It’s a spot my boyfriend used to always go to when he lived in Seattle. It as the go to spot on the way to Seattle or Portland. We got two double cheeseburgers and chili cheese fries. I went in with pretty high expectations because of the Rabin reviews my boyfriend gave, but I wanted to see for myself! He was right, the burger was glorious, and the chili cheese fries were deliciously gooey with the yummy chili, cheese, fries and onions. I would most definitely go back again and again. Really good prices too. What you would expect from a good burger place! Five stars!

I really would like to give this a 3.75 stars. I ordered the triple cheese burger. The patties are really super small. Smaller than dicks and frisco freeze. That’s saying alot. The meat lacked flavor. We also ordered a few double deluxes and they forgot the lettuce, the tarter sauce tasted like mayo. However, they are pretty fast and really friendly. Price wise dicks is a better value. Frisco freeze is simalar to their menu prices. I would return and recommend this restaurant to friends if they want a knock off to Dicks and live close to fife.

To be fair I haven’t had any food here yet! But I did have a Marshmallow Milkshake and it was INCREDIBLE! I’ve never had a marshmallow milkshake before, but now that I have I’m devastated that this little gem is 5 hour from my home. The French fries look amazing! The food smells incredible! I can’t wait to go back. Bring cash! They accept nothing else!!! (I only gave 4 starts because I think only accepting cash is a little inconvenient in this day)

I debated on putting a three or four on this. This is a really good fast food place to stop, one of the most high quality ones, at least. But, I felt everything lacked flavor. There was nothing here that made me thing that the burger was one of the best I’d ever had, which I don’t think they’re going for. I think the point of this place is to be a fun place for a picnic-like feel, and I really like it. A great place to come with friends on a hot day in the summer. I recommend it. One thing to know though, there is NOINDOORSEATING!!! TL;DR: Great place for families or friends to stop by to grab some pretty good food.

Hooray for Pick Quick! I’m even willing to forgive the antiquated cash-only policy.(There’s an ATM in the gas station next door if you forget) The burgers are super affordable but on the small side. Just order the double or the triple it wont break the bank and you’ll be satisfied. I prefer a slightly toasted bun for extra crunch, but the over all flavor is solid. Beefy, not overly seasoned, and not too greasy. Normally I’m unimpressed with«hand-cut» or «natural» fries. Most burger shacks forgo the doubly frying method necessary to achieve maximum crispy-ness. These did not disappoint. The shakes are top notch too. The vanilla malt was rich and creamy while the banana was fresh with real banana chunks. The seating area is outside, but well maintained with fresh flowers and regularly cleaned picnic tables. They’re closed December and January but we’ll be back often between now and then.

What a great little gem! After a meeting in Tacoma I asked my client if he had any tasty local lunch recommendations and he sent us here. I have to admit, I was a little sketched out at first… you pull off the highway and drive through a desolate industrial area… and then, like a beacon is this awesome little drive in style restaurant! This place just screams Pink’s(an LA institution) and I daresay, gives Pinks a run for its money! We ordered a Polish dog, a cheeseburger, french fries, 2 sodas and a side cup of chili. The polish dog was incredible! It was perfectly cooked and very snappy! Just so good, simple and tasty! The cheeseburger was great, so simple and tasty. They put a huge slice of onion on the burger, so if you don’t like onions you should probably say so– but I love onions, so it was like an extra little slice of tastiness for me! The shoestring fries– holy cow! They are so good! So simple, so good– perfectly cooked, perfectly salted. (The chili was great too– by the time we had the dog, burger, and fries we were already full, but the chili didn’t go to waste!) Loved all the little picnic benches and down-home feel to this place. This is a must-try if in the Tacoma area! *Note: Cash only folks!

I’ve been eating here for 15 years and this is still my absolute favorite burger place of all time. If you didn’t enjoy your burger here, it’s because you’re doing it wrong. Let me help you with that by giving you my personal ordering guide: Ultimate preference: There are two things Pick Quick does exceedingly well. The burger and their bacon. Because of that, I ONLY order plain bacon cheeseburgers. One patty, cheese, and bacon. I don’t do double or triples because you still only get the same amount of bacon and the single patty combo is the perfect combination of flavors. Depending on how hungry I am, I order 2 or 3(I’m a pretty thin person, so that speaks to how un-filling they are individually). If you have to have toppings: The more toppings you have, the more patties you should get. They are thin patties and the flavor of them will be diminished greatly by the addition of condiments and vegetables. A double is likely enough for most people, but if you’re hungry and want a fully loaded burger, get a third patty and extra bacon. Fries: They make solid fries, but the burgers are just so good that I prefer to order another burger than eat an order of fries(a plain bacon cheeseburger is probably going to be about the same calories) Shakes: This is where you have to make your own decision. There’s a million flavors that are amazing. My personal favorite is root beer marshmallow. It sounds weird, but trust me, it’s fantastic. My Dad’s favorite is chocolate banana mint. Orders it every time we go. Another really good drink is the Green River. You can’t get that anywhere else, so I take advantage of that when I’m not in the mood for a shake. So if you want the optimal experience, in my 15 years eating there, get plain bacon cheeseburgers and get as many as you are hungry for while never doing double or triples. Only get fries if you are sharing with a decent group, otherwise just get another small burger.

I’ve been meaning to drop by for a while. Ordered a triple cheeseburger plus bacon and an order of fries. It was much smaller than I anticipated. Although this is a busy place, I think some patrons stop in because it’s a novelty place. It’s CASH only here! You stand outdoors to place your order and they assign you a number. On a non rainy day it would be okay. It’ s not an indoor eating establishment. You either eat in your car, take it home or wherever, or sit at one of their outdoor tables. The food is made to order. Patties are very thin and total meat weight is ¾ lb for a triple. No lettuce was given yet they consider it a deluxe which I guess their deluxe is not my idea of deluxe. Oh well! It had mayo, relish, pickles, raw onion, cheese and added bacon. That was it on a medium sized sesame seed bun. The cheese was processed American. if that’s what it was. Nothing to write home about. If you want ketchup or mustard you will have to ask for it. The fries were thin and just okay. Not crispy but definitely seems home sliced. Not much salt which is okay. Oil seemed fresh. I’m a good judge of old cooking oil. To be honest… for $ 10.12(not including a drink) I would rather go to 5 Guys. Just a cool novelty spot is all. Noisy from being right off hwy 99 and Alexander. Port Trucks, commercial and passenger cars don’t exactly make it a place to feel relaxed, but you can eat outside if you want to inhale the pollution. I did! I’m still alive. I might come back to try their shakes. I didn’t have enough cash on me. If I do come back, I’ll update my review.
