SwimLabs Swim School

We have been coming here for over a year. It’s a very clean and comfortable environment for the kids and parents. They offer many time slots for the parent/​tot classes through out the week and weekends. Ratio for parent/​tot class is good — 3 to 1 and sometimes the classes aren’t full, then you get even better ratio. Never had a problem with make up class if my little one is sick. They are flexible and will work with you on rescheduling.
The swim teachers are very nice and I see them taking turns to clean the floors and pool all the time. We’ve tried a few different teachers over the year and have preferred one over the other. They worked with us on scheduling teacher who works well with my tot. My little one enjoys the water very much and also loves to play in the play area post swimming.

So first I scheduled a FREE trail for my 16 month old to see if she would like it and I’m checking out and the lady tells me that it’s $ 15 and that they don’t offer free trails. I explained to her that thats not what i was told but she says «we have never offered free trial». Second I get to the class and I’m handed a must have gear list for tots and parents. Never in my 30 minute discussion on the phone when I scheduled the «free trial» was I told about a gear list. How convenient they happen to sell most of the items on the list.

My daughter is almost 2 years old and LOVES her classes here. She has improved immensely in just a few sessions and asks to go to swim all day long. The pools are warm and small, which makes it feel safe and fun. Lauren is an incredible teacher and so sweet with the kids and parents. The front desk helpers have always been friendly and accommodating. The showers and changing rooms make the transition from swimming lessons to running errands easy. My daughter loves the waiting room. We can’t recommend SwimLabs enough.

Best swim school I ever seen, my kid was scare of water and only couple lessons made him love swimming, very kind and professional teachers, my little one started last week too;)

We LOVE this place! My 3-​year-​old has been taking lessons here for about a year, and we absolutely love coming here! The indoor pools are warm and calm and the teachers are wonderful. The owners are SO nice and SO accommodating. Plus, the fabulous waiting room is filled with toys for my toddler, delicious coffee, and all the new magazines (including my favorite US Weekly!) Also they have really cool technology that allows you to watch your child swim while relaxing in the waiting room. Bravo Swim Labs!

Daughter had her first group class today with Sammy, the instructor. He’s AMAZING with kids/​toddlers! Three in the class and they all had a blast. Everyone there is so nice. It has that genuine, family business feel.

The coolest pools around with cameras and mirror to help you develope your technique! Easy for kids to learn and because it’s heated and in-​door, they jump right in! They also have goggles on hand if you need them and at a really good price. All of the staff is so warm and inviting.

My granddaughter has been going to swim lessons here for several months now and she just loves it! The instructor is so caring and has lots of patience. You need that with my granddaughter! She has learned to love swimming and can’t wait to get to lessons every week. 5 Stars!!!

After being traumatized at the first well-​known swim school that we tried and then trying another big swim school where my son (age 4) was also unhappy, we finally found Swim Lab. Yay! Swim Lab is an intimate, lovely swim school and my son not only loves it there, but he looks forward to his lessons. He is progressing and learning, but most importantly, he is happy! He is happy, so I am happy. The teachers are patient, kind and gentle and the management is accommodating and professional.

I found out about SwimLabs from a friend and checked them out for lessons for my 10 and 11 year-​old children. The staff was extremely well-​organized, polite, and helpful in getting them set up with the best instructors for their needs, and flexible in scheduling around our family’s hectic schedule. I was amazed by how quickly my kids perfected both their swimming technique and speed! Within a short time, they became confident and competent swimmers. They enjoyed the unique environment SwimLabs provides and loved their instructors, who made learning to swim FUN! I appreciated the very clean facilities– complete with showers, private dressing rooms, and a comfortable waiting area. Our kids have taken lessons with several other local swimming schools, but SwimLabs was by far the best!

My husband, now in his 50’s, has swam competitively since he was a young child. After only a few lessons at Swim Labs, his stroke technique has improved dramatically. He credits the owner, Mason, with his improved performance and said it’s almost unbelievable, how quickly he was able to analyze his own stroke and make needed adjustments through the video camera feedback, as well as sound instruction by Mason. He also appreciates the front desk reception, attention to detail and cleanliness. Because of his feedback, we’ll be bringing our kids in next. Thanks Swim Labs!

My kids have made incredible progress with their swimming in the time we’ve been going to SwimLabs — thank you to everyone at SwimLabs! The instructors are great with kids and they offer flexible and convenient scheduling options — it has been such an improvement over the other swim lessons I’ve tried in the past. SwimLabs is great!

It is with great disappointment that I am writing this review. We have been going to SwimLabs Encinitas for 3 – 4 months now (2x’s/wk) and today we abruptly cancelled our membership. Over the weekend I received an email that my son’s instructor would be out this week due to an injury so we were asked if we would like to reschedule or go with a different instructor. My son is extremely wary of strangers (especially men) so I specifically requested a female instructor and was told this would be no problem. Any parent with a child who has major social anxieties can understand my frustration when I walked in to find a female instructor AND a male instructor (in-​training) in the small pool. My son immediately cried and refused to get in the pool. When I told the female instructor that he would not get in the pool with him in the pool, she got out of the pool and tried to coax him in. So I walked out of the pool room and verbalized my discontent with my request being ignored to the woman at the front desk (who is also apparently an owner). Meanwhile my son is still crying in the pool… instead of learning to swim. Instead of being apologetic I was greeted with exasperation and she argued that he was NOT the instructor but in training and (the straw that broke the camels back) she then told me to «calm down» (not in a reassuring way but extremely rude) as she went in to ask him to get out of the pool. BTW, this is not the first time she has been argumentative with me. I overlooked all of the mishaps with the front desk (scheduling issues/​charging wrong credit cards, etc.) because she seems to be extremely overwhelmed in general/​always. I then went in to speak with the other owner (Mason) to express my shock at how I was treated and was simply told he did not hear the conversation and basically he was «sorry» I felt that way but was in NO way whatsoever apologetic. The arrogance was laughable. I am truly saddened as my son loves «Miss Ree» (Marie…his usual instructor) but I refuse to support a business who clearly does not respect (nor appreciate) their customers.
*As a business owner, customer service is everything. A boss of mine MANY years ago taught me something very valuable that I will never forget. «If a customer has a great experience, they will tell maybe one or two people. If they have an awful one, they will tell EVERYONE.»
Pro’s: Great Facility, Not Crowded, Quiet
Con’s: Customer Service is Non-​Existent, Front Desk is Unorganized (putting it nicely)

My daughter is a competitive swimmer who is one of the best in her team, but recently her results are not very good. So we went to Swimlabs to help analyzing her strokes. What a big difference it made! Her fastest stroke turned out to be not very good, and there are so many issues about her body positions and strokes. Mr. Bailey was so patient and so knowledgeable that my daughter wanted more video analyze classes for her. The stuff are super friendly and the facilities are so kids friendly that you feels like at home. Definitely the best experience for my daughter. Absolutely love this place!

We’ve tried swimming lessons for our little ones at a few other well known spots in town and our kids were never really interested in going and didn’t appear to be progressing… Discovered Swim Labs from a Unilocal search of local swim lessons and after reading the positive reviews decided we would give it a try.
Both our girls (ages 2.5 and 5.5) enjoy going to their swim lessons at Swim Labs and both of them have improved in their skill and confidence in the water!
We also REALLY appreciate the clean and comfortable environment (comfy waiting room, nice showers & changing rooms and delicious complementary coffee). Keep up the great work Swim Labs Encinitas Team! :)

This is the only place in town to take swim lessons!!! The instructors are top notch and your child will be successful in the water. My son had a bad experience in the water last summer and has been afraid ever since but Ms. Marie and Mamoo have been so gentle and enthusiastic with him he was swimming in two lessons! Kristine at the front desk is so willing to accommodate your needs with scheduling and the classes aren’t overcrowded. :) Thank you Swim Labs. We love you.

My daughter has special needs and absolutely LOVES her swim lessons with her 1:1 adaptive swim instructor! SwimLabs in Encinitas is a family-​run business and we are so happy that we found them. Their warm pools offer a wonderful introduction to water and provides the much needed sensory integration my daughter benefits from. The cleanliness and private rooms for shower and changing add to the quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Unlike other swim facillities attempting to manage 30+ kids at a time, SwimLabs caters to individuals 1:1, or small groups, charting progress throughout the course of lessons and keep SAFETY & FUN a high priority.
Owners Christine and Mason Bailey are super special people who will go out of their way to make you comfortable. When was the last time you were offered coffee during your child’s swim lesson? Oh, and shampoo, conditioner and baby lotion are complimentary too!

The owners and staff at Swim Labs Encinitas are FANTASTIC. I highly recommend them. This is THE place for children or adults to improve their swim skills at any level from beginner to advanced. The water is WARM ! Our two daughters LOVE this place and cant wait for their next lesson. The instructors are highly skilled and I have seen my daughter’s skill level improve quickly and drastically with only 5 lessons so far. Try this out for yourself, you wont regret it! A very focused and fun way for kids to learn to swim. The cameras and video feedback helped my little ones figure out where they were going wrong, and they loved the current in the infinity pool!
I felt really welcomed here, great friendly staff, a warm atmosphere and a nice facility. Toy corner for the toddlers not swimming, nice waiting room for the parents. Much cleaner and nicer than other swim schools in the area, and better instruction with faster results. My kids have improved here in the last 2months more than they did in Del Mar in 6 months. I’m really impressed with this place and would highly recommend it.
