My daughters have been attending the Carlsbad location for one year and their progression has been incredible. We have had a number of great teachers but especially love Coach Jolene, who has turned my preschoolers into excellent swimmers. Not only have they become beyond water safe, but they are now learning correct swimming technique. The facility is clean (and the play area is a definite plus for other children, especially babies), the staff is cheerful and helpful, and the coaches are great. Highly recommend.

Wow! Our 7 year old son refused to put his head underwater and we knew we needed help. Within a few months he has moved to the highest level and is working on his strokes, kicks, and breathing. He loves to swim! The staff was so friendly and the instructors were so kind, yet effective. Swim lessons at the Noonan School have made it so much more fun to go swimming and be around water as a family. Best decision and place for him!

Out little guy has been swimming at Noonan for nine months, and it is his absolute favorite thing in the world. Our son is autistic, and as a result of his autism he is non-​verbal, he does not speak. When we were looking for swim schools, Noonan was the 1^st and only place we needed to try. Swim safety being or biggest concern, they were right on board with our goal. As a parent of a child with special needs it is difficult to find what we need in an everyday setting. Noonan, however, has by far exceeded our expectations. Everyone that has worked with our little guy is amazing, understanding and so patient. Miss Amber is the best, she treats him just like any other student, and has really taken the time to develop the rapport need to get him to focus and follow direction. We couldn’t be happier.

We did a year of splash babies and although I didn’t love getting in the water the class taught her some important skills like climbing out, waiting safely and getting in safely, holding her breath under water and beginning to float. Now we have moved up a class and her skills are growing by leaps and bounds. She is floating without fear, diving under for rings, getting her face completely submerged without freaking g out. So far I am a happy customer.

We’ve had a wonderful experience here at Noonan. It is a very well run business. My 5 yr old daughter has improved tremendously since her first class at the beginning of summer. The instructors are awesome!

Looking for a fun swimming school Noonan is the place. My daughter started about 3months ago and I been impressed on how patience they are. She is a 3yr old and sometimes uncooperative but some how they always make it work

The teachers at Noonan are great… very patient with my high energy three year old and sensitive to my 6 year old as she learns new strokes. Both of my kids have made such great progress in only a few months!

We have been coming to Noonan for 3 years and we are so pleased with our daughter’s swimming progress. We started in the splash baby classes where Miss Jolene encouraged a our baby to love the water and be safe. She continued to progress and at 4 years old is now learning the side stroke, treading water, side breathing and diving down for rings. Miss Pheobe and Miss Amber are also amazing teachers.

Noonan Family Swim School in Carlsbad is awesome! My 4 year old daughter is learning to swim in a safe, fun and relaxed environment. We tried several other swim schools in the area and Noonan worked the best for our family. We really like that the Pool Manager and Assistant Manager are out on the pool deck evaluating the students and talking with parents. The Noonan staff is as invested in my child’s swimming success and safety as I am. We also like Noonan’s cancellation policy. During the 2 years we’ve been taking lessons they have always been able to accommodate our make-​up requests. I’ve never left a review on Unilocal,but felt compelled by the quality of the instruction and very helpful staff at Noonan Carlsbad to do so. Go take a trial class and get your kids swimming, you won’t be disappointed.

I am the parent of a special needs child, and as such it makes it difficult sometimes to find outside activities that can meet his needs. We found Noonan at a booth in the Carlsbad street fair and were compelled to check it out. They gave my son a free private lesson to try it out, and he loved it! The staff are always very friendly and helpful, the pool area and locker room are always well maintained. Highly recommend Noonan to anyone looking for a comfortable environment to introduce your child to the water.

Love the atmosphere here– smaller, more intimate than others. Only a couple classes go on at a time so the pool stays calm and not chaotic. Teachers are so good w the kids. Lobby is nice w toys for younger siblings. Really a fantastic swim school. My 3 yr old can swim w out my help now :)

Just finished the Splash Babies program at the Del Mar location with Miss Kayla. Can’t say enough about how wonderful she is! Totally calm and at ease — which puts all the little ones and parents at ease too. My child started the program kicking and screaming and wild and within 2 weeks this was his favorite activity, talking about swimming with Miss Kayla all week. This is the best place to teach your little ones to be happy and safe in the water!

My son has been a student at Noonan Carlsbad since mid-​2013. Their program keeps him on task for learning the different strokes, increasing in difficulty as his skills improve while incorporating safe swimming techniques. I’m very impressed with their program, instructors, staff and facility. Today he is an excellent swimmer and is now utilizing his abilities in the ocean and enjoying body surfing and boogie boarding. This year was our best summer yet at the beach! Thanks Noonan.

We’ve been going to Noonan for 4 months, transferring over from swimming classes in Bressi Ranch, where we were for over 8 months and never really loved it. We are so excited we found Noonan swim school. It’s much more personable. The instructors are always happy and seem to genuinely care for the kids. My 2 year old’s teacher is great with the younger kids, making them comfortable in the water with games and songs. My 4 year old’s teacher helps him focus and explains things in a way that a 4 year old will understand. She’s great at knowing when the kids are at their max retention and then does some water play time to make it fun. My son is always so excited about the «level tests» where when they test out of a level they receive a bracelet. He is so proud when he passes, and he shows off his bracelet for weeks. The facility is clean and dressing room is as dry as a pool can be (one of the things that I couldn’t stand about the other pool we were at previously).
If I had to find one negative about Noonan is the make up class process. The email approach does not work, because they have very few spots to fill with a make up and if you work it’s near impossible to make up a class (evenings and weekend are never available). It would be great to have dedicated make up times or at least a schedule of availability. Overall my boys love their swimming classes and teacher, and my husband and I are very happy with both their swimming progress.

Just had the worst swim lesson experience of anywhere in San Diego. My son (7 years old) started at Noonan in Del Mar when he was 3 and he had an awesome experience and now swims at alga norte and has been asked to swim on the swim team. He is an excellent swimmer and I give Noonan in Del Mar a lot of the credit because they made it so much fun. However, I just took my two year twins to their first lesson at Noonan Carlsbad. They actually kicked them out of the water at 12 minutes into their swim lessons because they were crying. I’m not kidding. They told me I needed to do a baby lesson. They were rude. The instructor and deck instructor did NOTHING to make the lesson better. She started by taking them up to their shoulders in water. It was honestly traumatizing to watch the swim lesson. It was awful. I’m still angry. I can not recommend swim lessons at Noonan Carlsbad after my experience.

We have been bringing our daughter Laci to swim here for the last 7 months and we absolutely love it. Our daughter started in «Splash Baby» with Jolene and is learning so much. Jolene is amazing! Such a great teacher! Really takes the time to make sure she engages and spends one on one time with each baby. Makes you feel good that they make you baby feel so special. We’ve been to other swim classes and they don’t even compare to Noonan. Shaida (hopefully I spelled it right) is very nice as well. During our swim class she brought this tiny little Noonan shirt. Really nice that everyone at Noonan makes you feel special and not just another person. Highly recommend this place to any parent looking to get their baby into swim.

My 6 yr old daughter has been taking classes for about one year and has progressed well. The facility is nice and clean and the staff is friendly and professional. Makeup classes are eady to arrange. Only downside is teacher turnover. My girl has gone thru more than a handful of teachers. Overall recommend.

Noonan Family Swim is far and above the best place you can take your child to learn to swim. The staff is excellent, great with kids and always on too of their game. We have been to both the Del Mar and Carlsbad locations and they are both great, you can’t go wrong with either of them. I would highly recommend Noonan Swim schools to anyone looking for help learning to swim. Our son was terrified to put his face I then water and after about 10 minutes with
Ben that fear was already gone.

Ashley, the manager, is fantastic. She really cares about my little water bug. The facility is beautiful, right off the 5, clean, the instructors want to be there, and my kid learned how to stay safe in the water. Any of the instructors are wonderful, fun, energetic, but most of all … skilled. We have been to three of their swim schools and love them all. We love the Noonans! Remember, you get what you pay for!

This place is perfect for swimming lessons! The staff is all wonderful and facility is really nice!
