History

Established in 2005.

The basics of the SuperSlow high-​intensity training protocol were first documented in 1982 by Ken Hutchins (Renaissance Exercise). More recently, Dr. Doug McGuff published Body By Science which describes the science behind how and why our bodies respond so well to Smarter Exercise. Tim Ferris writes about the benefits of SuperSlow in his book The Four-​Hour Body, and Mark Sisson’s Grok would have been our biggest fan if he wasn’t busy, you know, hunting and gathering and such…

Our solution is based on deliberate movement against appropriate resistance, one-​on-​one instructor guidance, and accountability. Smarter Exercise provides all the health benefits of exercise without unnecessary wear and tear on the body.

Your private instructor will monitor you for proper form and will be with you every moment to guide and support you through every workout. Your instructor sets up equipment and instructs you through each exercise while documenting your performance.
