History

Established in 1983.

Tim Sorenson, owner, climber, and entrepreneur, started climbing (mountains & rocks) at a very young age. He has scaled such sheer rock faces as El Capitan and Half Dome in California’s Yosemite Valley, among others. As a teenager Tim spent time in Minnesota working in the logging industry. He also worked as a «coner», climbing to the tops of conifer trees to harvest cones which were used to start new seedlings for reforestation. Tim could think of no better way to combine his love of climbing, heights, and being outdoors than by starting a tree service! After several years of apprenticeship in the tree industry he started his own business, naming his company «Tree Topper Tree Service» because it is a reference back to his days as a «tree topper» while working in Minnesota during the 1970s. Tim’s experience scaling and felling the tops of huge conifers in order to salvage the oversized trees for harvest was without a doubt the most dangerous job he ever had in forestry.

Tree Topper Tree Service is family owned and operated. We started out small and have chosen to stay that way, concentrating more on providing excellent customer service. When you call Tree Topper Tree Service, you still talk to Tim, the owner, not a salesman. The person who comes to your home to estimate the work is Tim. After all, as the owner, it is Tim’s honesty and integrity that ensures you receive the best service you can get.
