Traveling Toolbox

If you want straight to job service. This is it! Communication isn’t great, but they got the job done! Not only did were they quick at fixing my garbage disposal, but they were the best price!
I would use them again.

Contacted David about getting some repairs for three exterior doors one of which needed a rotting jamb repaired. David sent me an email asking for picture of the project which I sent him. Never got a response so I sent another email, still no response, sent a 3^rd email telling him that if he was not interested in doing the work he should have just told me so. Now looking for someone else do the work.

Absolutely first rate work! I am beyond pleased. I’ll have them out again to tackle the rest of my list.

Previous owner Darrell was my preferred handyman for several years. He moved and the business went to David. I attempted to acquire the services of David for a few miscellaneous items around the house. All communication by email. I sent him a list with pictures. A few email back and forth but I never actually got any quote back from him. He did mention that he was backed up. He must be very good that he can handpick his jobs. If you can obtain his services, I think that he will probably do a good job.

Punctual (actually early!), very conscientious and polite. Great work and I feel very secure with the end product. Only had a water line installed for a new refrigerator, but it was a big deal to me and Mike made me feel like I was his most important customer! Good work guys. You will hear from me again!

We used Traveling Toolbox several times when Darrell was the main guy; he was responsive, reasonable, and did excellent work (EXTREMELY detailed oriented). Also he was pretty good at problem solving when, as things do with small or large jobs, something isn’t exactly as expected; he would not nickel and dime you to take extra time to do excellent work! Darrell is an outlier among handymen — more than 5 stars! So, when Darrell moved north and the other guy (s) took over his business here, I was a little hesitant. Well, it turns out one of new guys, David Fitzgerald, is fair and does respectable work. He installed a new shower arm in one bathroom, and then turned my other bathtub into a shower/​bathtub. The company I ordered the parts from didn’t send me everything I needed so David couldn’t finish during that visit. He finished what he could and scheduled a return visit to finish the job. While he did charge an extra $ 75 to complete the job in two visits, it still ended up being reasonable and the work was satisfactory. I would use him again.

We had some work done on our garage that made it so we couldn’t open the side door without hitting the railing for the garage door opener. We sent David over some photos of the door and he came up with a plan to install a smaller door. He arrived on time and installed and painted the new door. He did a fantastic job and I am very pleased. I already have a call in for him to do some more work for us.

We got our new cooktop installed today! :D They are very flexible when it comes to changes. For example, our new cooktop came with a plug, which our old cooktop did not have. I failed to mention this to them ahead of time because I assumed there is an outlet in the house any time you need to plug something in. That wasn’t the case here. There was no outlet within reach of the cooktop wire, so Mike (?) had to trail an electrical wire through the wall and create a whole new outlet. It took about one whole hour for him to create an additional outlet (poor guy sounded like he just ran a mile). The additional charge was very reasonable. Very good communication when it comes to getting the estimate cost, setting up a date for the project, and any changes in the pricing.
This was our second time using the Traveling Toolbox and I highly recommend you use them for all your handyman needs!
Ps– The first time was used the Traveling Toolbox they replaced the rotting wood frame of our garage door, and replaced the side door also That was a few years ago. Everything is still very sturdy and strong! :]

Wow, never mind. Business owners should be aware that they represent themselves and their businesses through whatever means of communication they choose. So a rude, short and unprofessional email is the same as being rude, short and unprofessional in a shop. Where I don’t have the luxury of turning around and walking out of his shop, I do have the luxury of shopping around for someone better.

Called and left message over two days ago and never got a returned phone call. Needing service and did not even have the decency call back. Even if your too busy with other customers… would had been nice to let me know. I contacted your service since you had great reviews on Unilocal.Very disapointed.

We’ve used Darrell (the owner) 15+ times over the last 8 years. He always has come through with great service and rates. I highly recommend giving him a call!

Very professional: on time, responsive, great work!

David Fitzgerald just finished renovatiing my condo! The kitchen is done and it looks great, all new cabinets and granite counters, replacement of a fluorescent fixture with canned lighting, new bathroom vanity, fixed my bedroom closet shelves, removal of popcorn ceiling and installed new ceiling fans in the bedrooms, repaired and installed baseboards and moulding, drywall repair and new paint throughout!
Great communication along the way, so I was always aware of the schedule of work and the costs.
During the walkthrough, I could not find one thing that needed attention. David’s attention to detail was excellent, and the condo was left perfectly clean.
I’ll be looking to David and The Travailing Toolbox for some future projects.

Had Mike out for multiple tasks on 2 occasions back in Dec 2014. Forgot to post this review earlier.
Outstanding service. Did the work they were capable of handling and referred me out for a job they couldn’t (broken window replacement). And the referral was perfect also.
My go to service now for my rental property and also for tasks I can’t do at my own house.
Jobs completed — dishwasher drain line (remove & replace), 50 year old closet doors (repaired), garbage disposal (remove & replace), washing machine connection (remove & replace), outdoor hose bib (remove & replace), busted bedroom electrical outlet (remove & replace including the electrical box).

I called last minute for a repair and Mike came out to help. He was on time and worth the cost!

David’s fee’s are reasonable. He was prompt and arrived on-​time. He fixed a broken circular florescent light bulb and a toilet that had a minor leak. Very honest repairman. I recommend him to anyone.

Darrell was great. I had a chandelier and a new wall outlet installed. Estimate was fair, he showed up on time and was very professional. He was also very nice to my dogs. One is a puppy and a total terror. I will definitely be calling the Traveling Toolbox again for other small projects I need done.

I am so glad I found this company! Yesterday Mike came out and was super professional, fast, and very caring about what I wanted done. As a single woman I was very comfortable having this company in my home and I could tell they are very honest (I know almost nothing about repair stuff).
Today he is back to finish mounting my TVs and he was prompt and got right to work. I have a giant to do list and will only be calling the Traveling Toolbox from now on. Use this company — you won’t regret it. I was really surprised with how knowledgeable they are! You need it done and they can do it!!! Thanks so much and I’ll be a repeat customer.

I don’t post reviews often, but I had to post this one.
Mike has been working on my house for two days this past week and I’m so pleased with his work.
Not only is he fast, but he asks questions and gives me recommendations that made sense.
He was able to complete all the jobs quickly and neatly and even took the boxes away!
And Darrell was easy to work with via email, which I can appreciate in these busy times. He communicated FAST and was easy to schedule and get quotes on.
All in all, I have found my guys for any future work!

I’m so bummed these guys weren’t able to fix my faucet. He was on time, super professional and very nice.
Since they recommended using a plumber I’ve called 3 different people 2 of which were so rude I hung up on.
I wouldn’t hesitate calling these guys again for anything. I’m so bummed I even have to use anyone else.
