I had a wonderful massage, the rooms were nicely appointed, the sheets were heavenly, the music was perfect. She did use massage oil and a lot of it, which is not my favorite, but again the massage was great. I would not give this a 5 star because of the locker room and women’s area. The relaxation lounge is very tiny (4 person max) and the 1 bathroom, 1 shower and locker room are all in one and very small too. The black painted lockers look a little tired and are just made out of plywood, with no interior shelf. As long as you don’t plan to spend a day here, the spa worked ok for me. A good massage, I guess, is worth overlooking the non existent amenities. If there was a hot tub, sauna or steam I was not shown this.

Relaxed, intimate vibe located inside the chic Zaza Hotel. I’ve gotten 4 massages here now and my most recent one was perhaps one of the best ones of my life here! I do not take this lightly either — massages are definitely my guilty pleasure (I try to get one at least a week — I know, don’t judge). I truly wish I remembered the name of my massage therapist to give her a shout out on here — she was THAT good. Kind of pricy but worth it for sure!

The spa at ZaZa is small and intimate. I received a 50 min aromatherapy massage from Juan– request him! He was great! Perfect, medium pressure, yet insanely relaxing at the same time.
The (small) locker room has everything you need! From individually wrapped hairbrushes, to tiny, individual deodorants– just bring a change of clothes and you can get fully showered and ready after your day at the spa.
The staff went above and beyond to make my visit perfect. When booking my appointment, I asked about possible access to the hotel pool (I was only a ZaSpa guest and was not staying at the hotel). They had to check on a few things to make sure it wasn’t a super packed weekend. They were able to give me pool access and let me know a few days prior to my appointment. I was very appreciative!
I highly recommend the spa at ZaSpa for a relaxing and refreshing getaway!

The Zaspa is great for a girls weekend, a birthday celebration or a weekend get-​away with your significant other. The staff is professional and friendly and the spa rooms are impeccably clean and comfortable. The spa will validate your parking so let the valet know that’s why you’re there.
I got a massage and a scrub, both were wonderful. My friend got a facial. My scrub was amazing. She even let me take some into the shower to scrub my chest and stomach. The dressing room/​bathroom is fully stocked with anything you might need and the robes and slippers add to the pampering. The pool is a little on the small side so if you want a chair, get there early. It’s the cool place to be on the weekend.
The Zaspa provides are fantastic spa experience; I’ll definitely be back.

I came here for the first time with a group of girls to celebrate a friends birthday. The staff was very accommodating with booking times and arrangements. We all got one or a combination of a facial, massage and body scrub. The atmosphere was very warm and relaxing. They offer a great powder room full of amenities including a shower, fully stocked with anything you might need (Individually wrapped hair brushes, hair spray, blow dryer, q-​tips, razors, toothbrushes ect.). I would highly recommend coming for spa services at the Zaspa.

I actually came in town, stayed at one of the hotel’s bungalows and was treated to a great spa experience as a gift from a friend. I received one of the packed specials of a body scrub, wrap and massage. It was WONDERFUL! My skin was so soft and smooth after the scub and wrap and so relaxed during the massage. The massage therapist, Marciana (I hope I spelled her name correctly) was great as well, full of personality, very informative, and very easy to talk to. I’m the type of person that normally doesn’t like conversation during my treatment, but I was able to have a pleasant conversation and still be totally relaxed and eventually drift into a slumber during my massage (I may have started snoring too-​oops lol). In all, the experience and treatment was so great I came back for another massage before I left to go back home. It’s not a very big spa, but it’s enough to keep you relaxed and feeling refreshed.

Oh ZaSpa, you’ve ruined me.
My girlfriend and I spent an afternoon here, massages and facials. It is a small spa, but offers a very full menu of services. Locker room was well equipped and we were shown how to store our goods before heading to the quiet room to read recent tabloids (I hate how sometimes spas have an US Weekly from a year ago — no fun).
In the quiet room the staff had cold fruit water waiting for us and it was nice to take a moment before our massage peeps came to collect us.
Hot stone. 80 minutes. Juan is my new best friend. So lovely, like being massaged by a good friend: intimate but not at all sexual — in a good way.
Invited to stay and read in the quiet room for as long as we’d like. Ordered a couple of glasses of bubbly before heading downstairs for lunch. Bliss.
Now there’s no way for me to get anything done today. Must curl up and Unilocal about it. ZaSpa has ruined me.

The ZaSpa is great. I’ve sent many clients here and have been sent clients that have just received services there.
I’ve never heard a client complain. I’ve only heard of wonderful experiences when here.
Apparently, you are pampered to the extreme. If you are willing to fork over a little extra money for some r&r, then I would suggest coming here.
Even better, send a friend.

Went in for a girls spa day on a Sunday, absolutely love the ambience of the hotel/​spa. I got a prenatal and my girlfriends got the scrub/​massage combo they messed up our appointment but were quickly able to fix the glitch. We got complimentary drinks and fruit which was a nice treat after our service.

I’ve gone here twice now for services and I really like it. The valet is complimentary so parking is no hassle and they can always get me in the same week I try and book.
The first esthetician I had was kinda weird and I had gone on a Wednesday when they were running a special (they have daily specials that make the already pretty good prices even better for their services!) and I had to correct the girl when she presented me with a bill for the full price what the special was that day. That was awkward, but she made the correction. The next time I went I had a great esthetician and they got me right in and out with no trouble at all.
It’s clean, decorated in a very calming way and the waiting area is very comfortable. Definitely going to go here full time for my spa needs.

Had a really, really nice mani/​pedi here. They were surprisingly able to squeeze three of us in last minute when another spa messed up our appointments. They were booked for the facials and massages, but the mani/​pedi was delightful. The spa is beautifully done and friendly. We’ll be back.

I went to the ZaSpa for a massage, looking forward to a chill and relaxed Zen experience and atmosphere. I was disappointed that the facilities were so small. The locker room is just a large personal bathroom with 1 toilet, 1 shower, some cramped lockers and a sink. The relaxation room was nicely decorated, but had an open hallway to the reception desk and hallways where you could hear conversations going on. The rooms themselves were nice. I thought it was interesting that the music was a personal ipod hookup, so you listen to the music your therapist choose (I assume if you come prepared you could bring your own play list). But if you don’t share your therapists taste in relaxing music you may not get to your happy Zen place.

I am a spa freak and so my review may be tainted by incredible experiences in spas around the world. That said, this sucked. I was visiting Dallas and staying at the ZaZa, which was nice but that’s another review.
I scheduled last minute but there was an opening in the early afternoon so I took it. There was the ubiquitous gurgling waterfall and spicy aromas of spas everywhere but the young woman who greeted me gave me instant attitude. She didn’t smile or welcome me, it was like I had screwed up her day. I almost walked out then, and upon reflection, I really should have.
She led me to my room without any instruction. I know what to do in a massage room, but I can imagine that there are plenty of people who don’t know. Maybe that’s not a big deal, but it added to my sense that this was going to be lame. Thank god the woman at the front wasn’t the one giving the massage. The girl who came in did smile she asked me how I was and what kind of pressure I liked. I like strong deep tissue pressure and I told her. But she had the lightest touch throughout. And the most annoying and apparently untrained style of any massage therapist I have ever come across. She rubbed my neck in the same spot over and over and over again until I thought the skin was coming off.
I had to tell her that I thought that area was covered and maybe she could move on down my back. There was nothing soothing or relaxing or theraputic about this massage at all. I was literally praying that the massage would end. I guess my massage experience may have been unique but I would never go back to this place for a massage.

I’ve been to ZaSpa at Hotel ZaZa around 10 times over the past few years, and I have no idea why I’ve never reviewed it. I usually book a massage, eyebrow wax, or pedicure when I have a day off from work or need to relax.
I have been trying to think of the best part of ZaSpa, and I honestly think it is the quirky hotel itself. It is just fun to enter the hotel with its exotic, and even sexy, décor. The spa is actually up on the 2^nd floor and isn’t very big at all. It is never crowded when I’m there. In fact, I usually have the locker room and waiting room to myself.
I’ve been very pleased with the eyebrow waxes I’ve had there. I know it may seem like a very small thing to get excited about, but after your eyebrows take on that «excited look» themselves, help is much needed. The girls at ZaSpa helped me figure out what to leave alone and grow out, and worked with me over time to get a much better brow! I will continue to see my latest eyebrow waxer, Angelique.
The massages at ZaSpa have ranged from really good to fabulous. I never seem to ask for the same person, and have had both male and female masseuses. The treatment you get is really pretty consistent, and seems worth the price to me.
I’ve also had a pedicure there on occasion. The zero gravity chairs are awesome (but DON’T try to drink a cocktail in one… it doesn’t work, and yes, I tried!) I even had a pedicure with a Dallas Maverick one time. The copper bowl they used to soak my feet looked like it would only fit one of his toes, but he didn’t seem to mind.
I have one very odd complaint about ZaSpa. When I think back on all my visits (especially the pedicures and a few times during massages), the music seems to have regular problems! It is very distracting to have the music constantly skip or mess up while you are trying to enter a zen-​like state. Maybe they need to invest in a better system or better Cd’s.
ZaSpa is worth a visit if you’d like to treat yourself. I would also highly recommend the Dragonfly restaurant in the hotel if you feel like scoring points for a special occasion!

OK so this is for the spa, which I’m assuming since I’m the «first to review» everyone else reviewed the spa under the hotel listing. Eh, either way.
I was really excited to go, since A) I love being pampered, B) I love trying new spas and C) it was spa week and my massage was only $ 50!
However, imagine my surprise when upon arrival I was shown to a table to fill out paperwork, never given «the tour» and almost immediately whisked away (by a dude) to my massage room. Do not pass go, do not put on a robe, do not get a locker.
Nope, I was asked to change in the actual room, which means my handbag, keys, jewelry, clothes (including panties!) had to be left unattended on the chair across the room while I’m face down on the massage table.
It was really abrupt and uncomfortable, and though I dont recall being asked if I prefer a guy or girl, I’m pretty sure if I were given the choice I would say «female» as I always do. I tried to loosen up and let it go, but just felt really creepy laying all my things in the chair and getting nakie under the sheet with my heart racing hoping I made it under before the dude came back. (had he been hot, I would not have been so annoyed — does that make me a bad person?)
Anyhow, so I’m already a little put off by the situation and then he comes in and turns on an ipod which is playing a random mix of non-​therapeutic sounds, such as U2, John Mayer, and some random «slow techno» songs with words like «touch me» which really creeped me out. My «spa day» was turning into a bad date.
In addition to the music, I have to say the massage was awful as well, and I literally spent half the time wondering to myself if this guy was even really a (I hate this word) masseuse, and not just some valet guy who came in to hide from the rain and got put to work on the «spa day» people. He pretty much pulled a Ross and was doing things with his elbows and (hairy) forearms and it’s possible I felt a tonka truck at one point.
He also talked a lot, but not so much to me, which is bad enough, but just out loud to himself, like «OK that’s too hot!» (a towel) and «oops» (no idea what that one was, which is scary). When he was not actually speaking, he was still very audible, as he was a serious mouth breather.
The «massage» didnt involve so much massaging as it did stretching, positioning my arms in awkward positions and pressure points (him putting his fist into my ribcage and pressing in until I felt I may scream) while breathing loudly.
Just as I was contemplating asking him if he’s ever done this before, he abruptly pats me on the head and announced cheerfully, «all done here!» and stepped out. I laid on the table for a few minutes trying to process what just happened and thanked God that I was only paying $ 50 for this torture.
Upon redressing (yes, I have to get dressed in the same room, without so much as a towel to wipe the oil off me before sliding back into my not conservatively priced favorite jeans) I emerge from the room to find him awaiting me with a bottle of Voss. Thanks, I say and he leads me back (halfway) out to the front where I pay.
I ask the girl, does Za Spa not have a locker room? Do you not give people robes before and after spa services? Is there not a shower/​hot tub/​steam room? (surely Brit Brit has been nude all over this place!) only to be told, «well for spa week we are really booked so we are saving those amenities for customers who booked more than one service.
Oh really? Well that could have been me, since I requested a facial and a massage, but unfortunately they were sold out. Anyhow, there was a «tip guide» for my convenience, letting me know that typically my service would have been $ 130 and not $ 50, so I was obviously encouraged to tip on the original amount… however, I can tell you that had I been charged $ 130 for this experience someone would have had some serious damage control to do. I, however just paid my $ 70 (yes I’m a tipper, to a fault) and got the hell out of dodge.
It really annoys me that instead of using the «spa week» deals to attract new clients and treat them so well that they will gladly pay more to come back, they decided that us «cheap week» clients clearly don’t deserve the same posh treatment as their regulars.
I am giving 2 stars because A) the place looks great (from what I saw) and definitely transports you visually out of Dallas and the traditional spa scene, and B) a close friend of mine swears she had a spa day that was out of this world. I can tell you that I won’t be back, at least not on my own dime. (or a $ 50 spa week deal!)
