Great food and customer service. If you love red snapper, they have a wonderful dish that makes my mouth water thinking about it! The menu and atmosphere is trendy yet eclectic but their cuisine has Thai, Indian, and Moroccan influence. Absolutely one of my new favs!

Love the environment at this bar. The seating, music, and décor are exceptional. The bartenders are so friendly. I ordered a ramos gin fizz and though he didn’t have the ingredients for it, he improvised and made a great drink and spewed some witty conversation. I also told him to make me ‘whatever’ and he whipped up a fantastic Martinez. Go for some craft cocktails and a good time.

Great atmosphere. Unfortunately I caught the bar tender putting his mouth on the straw of the drink I had sent back with the request to modify. I could be wrong but I don’t think he planning on making me an entirely new drink. Had I not caught him and requested an entirely new drink, I’m pretty sure I would have been drinking the same cocktail he had just out his mouth on. Pretty disgusting.

Just had another amazing meal at On Premise in Deep Ellum. Try this dish the«Bronzino» a lightly fried white fish on a bed of bockchoy served with freshly baked pita and sticky rice. Oh and be sure to ask for Diana at the bar. She is really good with pairing.

*Saturday night review* We heard some music from outside and decided to check it out. I loved the décor and if it had been a little warmer, we would’ve danced on the patio outside. There was still space to dance inside though and the DJ had a pretty good selection. The crowd was mixed and even though we were only there for an hour, it was enjoyable. The only reason why I am giving four instead of five stars is because although the bar wasn’t too busy, my friend was never acknowledged after almost 10 minutes. Therefore, we weren’t able to test the cocktails.

Went here for the first time last night and it did NOT disappoint. The bartenders were friendly and the cocktails tasted great. The food was amazing as well– highly recommend the cashews and grilled gulf shrimp. This spot is definitely worth a return!

Great music, beautiful, one of a kind décor, and excellent bartenders. This is our favorite bar on Elm street we like to come to end the night. I haven’t seen a lot of dancing except for myself but there is certainly room. The patio is a good size provided with heaters. I have yet to try the food here. The ambiance, décor, drinks and good music keep me coming back anytime we find ourselves in DE. Just so many little touches like the submarine, king style throne chairs, light up neon elements on the wall, bartenders in mechanical uniforms combined with industrial lighting on brick walls and chic tufted barstools. I just can’t get enough of it!

Ok… honestly, this place was our second choice because Serious Pizza was way packed on a Saturday night. And while the menu was interesting, and the food was good, it’s not got a ton of variety, so if you’re looking for lots of options and you don’t have adventurous palates, you might want to go elsewhere. The ambiance is pretty awesome — steampunk and a great playlist — no restaurant I’ve EVER been to has been playing RJD2. It’s a bit dark, but it’s pretty cozy. It seems like it’s not a bad bar — except everything is in cans and bottles. Get a real tap in there and a better whiskey selection, and we’ll be in business. We had yucca fries, lamb sliders, oysters, shishito peppers, and Jamaican jerk sausage. It was all delicious, though don’t go there hungry. The portions are a bit on the small side, and sharing with four other people meant we should have gotten a bit more, but the $ 100 tab deterred us. The service was very good, and our server was very attentive, but I couldn’t tell if it was a function of our table being one of two in the whole place. He was pretty accommodating with our dietary request, he kept my mug of hot water full, and he was able to provide a lot of info on menu items, despite losing his voice halfway through dinner. Overall, it was a cute place and I’m glad we got to try it, but a more expansive menu would do them some good. It’s a good place for drinks, and that’d be why I’d go back.

Grilled Oysters: 5⁄5(very juicy, really great) Beef Skewers: 4⁄5(beef very good, sauce is ok) Grilled Shrimp: 5⁄5 Sausage: 4⁄5(sweet and overly spicy) Cocktails were all very tasty but prices are a little high. Atmosphere: 5⁄5(we were early so the place was dead but it’s beautiful inside)

My garments were all bunched up when I heard T&A’s sister was going to be popping up across the street. I didn’t want another club breaking up the vibe of Deep Ellum, and I didn’t want another place where I had to contour my face in order to be respected as a paying customer. The first time I went, I was in my regular thot night out attire. A DJ was spinning feel good vibes and the room was decorated with flashing lights, just enough for folks to booty grind their bar stool if their drinks so inclined them to. I only had two wonderfully crafted drinks, competitively priced for the West side of Elm, so I wasn’t participating in such acts just yet. I did grab an order of Hotteok(Korean pancakes), which surprised me for many reasons. One, a trendy restaurant in Dallas that serves obscure Korean street food? Two, forget about it being categorized as dessert, I would have those warm pancakes with a gooey glorious sugary nutty filling for breakfast! In fact, while the menu isn’t robust in quantity, the selection is very different from similar local offerings. Whole fried fish? I didn’t think people around here would be okay with staring at a fish head. Sticky rice that is actually served in a kratip, the traditional bamboo container? Actual beef skewers that are miraculously plated in a visually appealing manner? On Premise brings traditional Asian food to people that probably wouldn’t try it because it’s not a bacon burger. Never fear, they do have nightlife favorites like fish and chips. On a side note, the manager even let me and Pat Baby take engagement photos on their cool stylish couches while it was closed.(Very nice people here) While I love to complain about $ 11+ Dallas price tags and decorative«go to be seen» restaurants, this is one I wouldn’t mind spending my hard earned money on… …for like a special occasion of course. Like my cat’s birthday or something.

One of our Sunday Funday stops — my main focus was food! I asked the manager /bartender what she recommended out of the two I was interested in — Fish and Chips were the winners — and they were definitely winners! Flaky fish and delish chips — the portion was perfect too! She also promoted the specials they were having that nite, which I really appreciate. No one had to ask if anything was on sale. Some friends got the stir-fried cashews — spicy and warm — they were a good snack and something I would definitely order when I go back. See ya again soon, for sure!

On Premise! Why have I not heard of you before?!? Because I don’t frequent Deep Ellum, I assume. *shrugs* Meh. We came here after a Unilocal event because it was advertised as a place that has good drinks and soul food. *coughs* They don’t have soul food. Too late, we’re already here, might as well make the best of it! Aaron, our bartender for our visit, was great. Like, if I could take him home and keep him I would but the way my marriage is set up, that wouldn’t work out at all. He gave us great food and drink recommendations and kept an eye on us while he serviced everyone else at the bar. Very knowledgeable about liquor, beer, etc. And when I tell you he whips up mean drink. *raises hands in the air* high-fives for everyone. Ask him to make a ‘Bomb Pop’. don’t ask me what’s in it, I don’t remember but I do remember it was delicious. There were maraschino(REAL maraschino cherries) in it… and that’s all I can tell you. He also made what we called ‘The Starbucks’ shot, that’s definitely worth a try if you like Frappuccino type drinks. Aaron is there Thursday, Saturday and Sunday nights… and we will be too lol The food was pretty good too. We tried the yucca fries, wings and beef skewers w/sticky rice. I have no complaints about any of the items at all. The wings were perfect, the skewers paired great with the peanut sauce and sticky rice… and the yucca fries were hot and seasoned well too. The atmosphere is pretty laid back, the dj was playing a good mix of music, granted it was a random Sunday evening so it wasn’t a crazy weekend night but there were plenty of space to mix/mingle, sit/hang out. They also have a back patio area — can’t speak to much on this part because I only saw it from out the window, I didn’t go outside to check it out. Restrooms were clean, and THAT is always a PLUS for me. Check ‘em out Dallas!

This is another one of the bars along Elm street in Deep Ellum. The main room has a bar and some Victorian style furniture as well as a backyard patio. We came on a Sunday evening and it wasn’t very busy at all. They did have a DJ out on the patio. It seems like a pretty chill place. They have some specials for happy hour and those go all day in Sunday.

All the yessss! On premise was almost totally empty when we waddled in on a Wednesday night around 8pm, and we took advantage of the privacy by eating like no one was watching! We ordered(and consumed) so much food it was ridiculous, but it was all fantastic. We shared a bunch of dishes rather than have our own dedicated entrees(they don’t really have dedicated entrees on the menu). We stuffed our faces with a huge bowl of roasted/spiced cashews, roasted broccoli with a dip, bessara with thin naan-like bread, sauteed greens(baby bok choy), 3 orders of shrimp, 3 orders of oysters, 2 whole fish, and some kind of meat skewer that I didn’t try. As I said, everything was fantastic. The standouts for me were the broccoli + dip and the shrimp — which was skewered, grilled, and spiced, but the fish and all the other stuff was great too. Service was excellent, which is always nice to see, even if the restaurant is entirely empty save two dudes at the bar. The server was even willing to wrap up the leftovers in little separate portions for us. On Wednesdays, it’s also happy hour all night long! $ 3 lone stars, $ 5 community IPA, weekly craft cocktail, stoli drinks, and $ 6 house wine.

We went to On Premise last night after driving around for parking for 20 minutes. We walk in, go to the bar, and sit down right in front of two bartenders that were behind the bar just chatting away. I made contact with both bartenders, and neither of them offered a menu to us, water, or if we wanted to order anything. I just can’t wrap my brain around why bartenders would prefer to have their arms folded and talking to each other instead of trying to make money from customers. Since we were being looked over, 5 minutes later, we decided to just leave. The place looks really nice inside(which is why they get 2 stars), but unfortunately, we weren’t offered to order anything. It’s too bad. Needless to say, I won’t return.

Gorgeous interior! It is truly beautiful and very tasteful. Drinks were fine and the patio will be great once it cools off.
PREFACE: we were a party of 4(all foodies — we eat out several times a week.) BAD: This place needs to work on their food STAT! Some of the food was inedible ie: spit out of the mouth disgusting! And I am not a picky eater at all. We ordered charred Okra– our entire table could not eat it — disgusting. Wok Fried Cashews — the first initial bite was tasty, then it proceeds to burn your mouth and then final is an after taste of very odd flavoring — one bite and done. We ordered a pulled taco crunch tapa — MEH — sauce was nasty. Falafel wrap– not sure why the falafel is in a wrap, but it was OK. Doesnt need a wrap. The sauces were extremely CONFUSING, the spice mixtures in the sauces did not work together on ANY of the dishes we tried. Loved the beef satay by itself — WARNING: DONOT dip the satay in the weird peanut sauce — again the sauce was baffling. Good: Seated quickly at 8:15, place was fairly empty at this time — which is fine and we were served promptly, waiter was fabulous — Kyle, or Kirk — not sure, but he was A+ Cool place to drink, but not to eat. Will never eat their again unless they revamp and/or hire a new chef. Disgusting. literally. SORRY!

«They spent $ 6 million on the place and that was all decoration.» a local business owner guffawed. «A Titos and tonic is $ 10! Deep Ellum isn’t ready for that.» She shook her head gently like my discerning Jewish mother. My friend lamented in a sort of disdain over «On Premises» origins, off shooting from a partner in the yuppy cheesy flashy T&A club down the street. Nostalgic laments over gritty Deep Ellum circa 1989 instantly vanished into thin air as I headed hungrily down Elm for a slice at Serious Pizza when my buddy stopped me in the street. «It’s my birthday!» He was celebrating, with a significantly hot and muscled tattooed friend in a lasciviously revealing white cut off T. Record scratch hot, and as friendly as a dreamy Australian surfer. «Can I ride your bike?» the Romeo asked with a seductive smile. «Please.» I brightened. He was so beautiful I wanted to *give* it to him.(The bike.) We entered into the usual metal industrial door front you might find in deep Ellum, but I felt like Alice as we entered, transformed, into a sort of prismatic White Queens dark drawing room that lit up with sparkling chandeliers, vanity mirrors, and ice blue velvet sofas. «Eat!» My friends encouraged as 2 baskets of grilled shrimp and steak skewers appeared as we imbibed at the bar. Watching the strapping handsome hunk devour them like a Greek god muscled cabana boy on a fantasy cruise ship was a dream beyond hunger in this through-the-looking-glass bar. We did fireball shots. (Okay maybe not just the bike.) A whole fried fish arrived, looking fabulous. «It’s dry.» My birthday boy friend admonished with a lip curl and downward eyes. He was right despite the grandeur and beauty of the huge fish itself. «This is not the standard for these guys.» He tsked, leaving most of the fish untouched. I too abstained after one taste of an overily dry fishiness. My night flipped from gray to magic crystal castles at on premise. Luckily we had the place almost to ourselves, making it our own funky playground, happily devoid of any vapid douche bags. I’m sure weekends are different. The orders of shrimp and steak skewers, I bought 2 more since I was hypnotized frozen watching Romeo scarf down the first round, seemed small for my $ 50 bar tab which included one wine and 2 shots, but hey we were celebrating. Deep Ellum grows, and so does our pants, but do our minds? «Curiouser and curiouser» said Alice to a large cat almost invisible over a large mushroom. Summary Loungey club feel that feels special, potentially oversaturated with gloating tourists and uptown scene-sters, and that’s exactly the way they want it.

You must check this place out! Great place for drinks and delicious food too. I went to On Premise with a friend of one of the owners and was able to try almost everything on the menu. It’s a small plates concept and every dish has a unique flavor. The Wok Fried Cashews are spicy and with the lime squeezed over them, a perfect snack as you drink and figure out what to order. I took an order home they were so good! You must get the Bessara, we had two orders! It’s like hummus but with favs beans. It’s served with a very thin flat bread, that we also needed extra orders of. The Jicama is served on popsicle sticks, dipped in chili powder and served with a savory almost BBQ sauce. The charred okra was a tad dry for my liking, not my favorite item there. The grilled Oysters were amazing! Served sizzling with a butter sauce. The brandade fritters were good, order it if you like fish. It’s some fancy French approach to salting cod and they make a fritter. The Lamb souvlaki were tender and served with the best tzatziki sauce I have ever had. It was thick and flavorful. The charred broccoli comes with an amazing dipping sauce that I ate several helpings of and then saw anchovy was an ingredient. I probably wouldn’t have tried it knowing that beforehand, but the sauce made this dish. And because we apparently hadn’t eaten enough he sent out the empanadas and Belgian waffle dessert. I usually skip dessert but on a full belly I still ate my empanada and share of the waffles. The empanada was filled with the tasty cherry savory filling and a dipping sauce that reminded me of a homemade Nutella. The Belgian waffle was thin, crisp and delicious.
