BOCKBOCK… chicken chicken, BOCKBOCK chicken head! This chicken right here is flames(excellent). Come for the chicken, stay for the drinks or vice versa. Either way, get on this crispy southern golden chicken, it’s got a kick tho. Great staff and funny manager. I come every time I’m in town.

Food is good but the service sucks. They used to have a great server Carolina — now that she is gone they have a girl that was smoking outside the entire night or in the corner with her cellphone. I asked a guy that looked he worked there if there was any server and he say he was and then he just left. He told my friend she has a face she needs a drink and was rude to me as well. I had to place my food order at the bar since no body was taking care of us and told the bartender i was going to be at my table, he said it was okay. After more than 30 minutes the server comes to me and yelled at me about me moving to a table and that I «fucked his system» so they dont have my food order(2 chicken sandwiches and 2 corns for 2 people) so he just sent me one; when I explained to him. He was arrogant and acted like he did not understand what I was saying(I guess my accent) Also, when requesting drinks they did not have any. Supposedly they run out on everything. I went there for a good night and ended up super mad and disappointing.

I have to say that this place is truly an overall well rounded place to enjoy a good, quality meal. A group of friends and I stumbled here after a Ranger’s game(where the guy got punched) and were greeted by multiple hello’s and welcomes. We were seated and had our drink orders taken quickly. Our server was polite, knowledgeable and most important to me, she was prompt. We ordered the fried chicken and a variety of sides and everything was wonderful. The chef came by and checked on our meal. Being in the service industry myself, I am quick to recognize those things. Big props to the staff at this place. I’ll be coming back by.

Pretty cool place. The chorizo stuffed fried chicken and potato salad were both really good, but the chicken was a bit dry

Okkkkk… Best fried chicken I have literally ever had. Service is amazing. Have one of their great cocktails, you won’t be disappointed. Loved the«D’s nutz», Brussel sprouts and of course the fried chicken. I will keep coming back! Seriously in love.

Chicken was perfectly cooked. The house made hot sauce was spicy and a little sweet and not too tangy. Overall it was a great stop for some fried chicken and mashed potatoes. I’d come back.

We finally got a chance to get out over the holidays and try a few new places. Brick and Bones was our last stop of the night and it was nice surprise to find delicious food at midnight ! Everyone working the bar was a lot of fun. They made a little contest with us for a free drink if we could guess the cartoons that inspired the cocktail names on the menu. Unfortunately we couldn’t come up with the cartoons for the free drink, but the drinks we ordered were both stout and delicious enough to be worthy of their purchase. My wife went for the Lit Chickens while I enjoyed a Fig and Bourbon one… Maybe the Seymour Skinner. Hell I cannot remember. Like I said folks, last stop of the night hehe However I do remember the food. Deviled eggs, Jalapeño Biscuits, Chicken Tenders. All were damn good and the biscuits were as big or bigger then your hands-think ogre hands. I’ll be back. Its nice to see some new late night food spots in Deep Ellum.

There are only positive things to be said about Brick & Bones. From the service, drinks, atmosphere, food-EVERYTHING is top notch. My fiancé and I have tasted our way through the entire dinner menu without disappointment. On our most recent visit we opted for the chicken and waffles, habanero Mac & cheese, Mexican greens and the whipped sweet potatoes. I could eat this exact meal every single day! Some of our other faves are the deviled eggs, jalapeño biscuits & gravy, Mexican corn and of course the chicken. The bottom line is you can’t go wrong whatever you choose to order. My go-to cocktail is the Huckleberry Hound; where has it been all my life!!! Simply put– if you’re in Deep Ellum and you’re not at Brick & Bones… you’re doing it wrong!!!

Finally got to try this place and I am overall really happy with my experience and would definitely go back. We were greeted immediately as we walked in and out server was great. He answered all of our questions about the menu and checked in on us at all the right times throughout our meal. It’s a little dim in the lighting department but I’ll take dim over a bright, no ambiance bar any day. I enjoyed the music plying as well. The main part of the menu(the chicken selections) left me with only one option because I’m one of those weirdos that can’t eat chicken off the bone. Thankfully there was a chicken tender option for me and they were delicious. Very moist which is kinda rare when you’re talking tenders, and the flavor was good! My fiancé had the hot chicken which we were told was a nod to Prince’s Chicken in Nashville. I only had a small nibble of the breeding but it was delicious. If you like heat the hot chicken is the option for you! If they could make a hot tender option I would be all over that! For the sides we split the deviled eggs and the poblano bacon mac and cheese… Both very solid selections! It’s only a Tuesday so we didn’t order any of the specialty cocktails(I know I’m lame) however, I looked over the menu and would definitely go back to try some of them! If you’re in the area give it a try!

Did the food taste great? Yes. No doubt. But… We ordered the sexy chicken, which is 3 drumsticks, and chicken tenders. The food came 25 minuted later(«b/c the printer in the kitchen wasn’t working») and the portions are less than small. The sexy chicken is 3TINY drumsticks, only a little bit bigger than the Buffalo Wild Wings wings. My boyfriend ordered this entrée and was disappointed. The chicken tenders were delicious but also very small. We ordered 2 sides, the Brussels sprouts and the sweet potato brûlée. They were both delicious. I do not eat a lot and I get full fast but we left hungry. We have NEVER left a restaurant hungry but today is a first.

I was afraid to go into Brick and Bones. I didn’t like the name that much, and it appeared to be just another new average bar in Deep Ellum. «Their fried chicken gets serious awards.» My hungry drunk visiting friend drooled. I wasn’t buying it. An award winning fried chicken place after being opened only a few weeks? The lacquer still smells freshly applied. With all the new bars popping up it had to be mostly hype. Inside the clean venue, hip hop tracks and a young diverse ethnic crowd, fleshed out the needed niche, at least for some diversity in white boy Deep Ellum. A sort of easy soul food menu looked interesting but accessible. «We already ordered chicken tenders.» My famished drunk friend informed me as I sat down to the table. «We also ordered the jalapeño biscuits. I’m crashing my diet.» She swooned. For $ 7 i was expecting your bar typical thickly breaded grease dipped chicken fingers, but no, they were fabulous juicy tender pieces of chicken that had been lightly coated in a wonderful spiced breadcrumb rub and perfectly cooked. «Im ordering a bucket of fried chicken.» I flatly announced. For $ 25 it seemed at least a fun party favor for my table of 6. The biscuits were another huge surprise. More like a fluffy fall apart pastry embedded with peppers that would certainly make Paula Dean proud. The fried chicken was sadly overcooked with the crust too brown, the meat a little tough and thus unenjoyable. We were stuffed anyway from the biscuits and southern grandma prize chicken tenders, which I suggest you get. The urban vibe was bumping tho despite the fried chicken bucket miss. Vibe — bumping young bar with loud music Food — tenders were rocking, fried chicken was a miss.

Great fried chicken and waffles! Definitely will be back. They have a bunch of great sides i’d love to try. Breading is a little heavy on the chicken but that’s the point. Medium in spice and super tender in the middle. Waffles also amazing with the perfect maple syrup. Decent prices and good beer selection along with craft cocktails. Service was good not great. A great experience tho.

Best chicken and waffles I’ve ever had, bar none. The chicken breast is fried perfectly — it remained juicy and the breading has a nice kick that cuts the sweetness of the maple syrup. The waffles are as good as you’ll find in Brussels, and go even better with the chicken and syrup. The sides are also great — I love the poblano potato salad and the Jerusalem salad(onions, tomato, cucumber). They also have great drinks although the food is the real highlight. This place is a winner.

I loved everything about this place… Best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Jalepeno biscuits were incredible. I don’t even like corn, but I ate two orders of the Mexican corn. Can’t say enough good things. Drinks were perfect. Very creative cocktails that go well with the food. Lastly, and most importantly in my book, the service was spot on! Very friendly and attentive staff. I’ll be returning soon. Time to spread the word in the meantime.

A divey illusion that attracts Dallasites who are tired of pretentious establishments off of McKinney actually wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. With«divey» ~$ 10 a piece prices, that’s quite the bargain for some fried chicken… Yes, I’m that person that looks a new bar on Elm up and down like the thot they are and spits off insults in her mind because she hates change. But when the bartender greets you and lets you know you can have a seat wherever you like… ho ho! You sir, are a nice guy. I like you. Well, I’ve come around Brick & Bones, even for someone like me who doesn’t eat meat. Right? Why in the hell would I come to a bar specializing in chicken bites? The Vegan Pasta is why. A salute to you for creating rotini pasta with sun dried tomatoes, delicate pecans that crunched when I touched them, and other ingredients I couldn’t identify because you’re so divey there wasn’t enough light to see my food. It had a nice sweet flavor that made the soft pasta shoot rainbows from my mouth and every forkful of glutinous mush sounded like something I could eat for days while watching Netflix in my onesie. If you are not into eating meat, but are egg friendly like me, you might want to double check before ordering the deviled eggs. They were small, pickled and like a cloud upon your teeth until the unexpected crunch at the bottom, a sudden climax that makes you rethink all of the other strange deviled eggs whose names you can’t remember. I didn’t hate it, no, but I suspect they were bits of chicharron?(Reminder: I’m just a jack-off on Unilocal, not a seasoned food connoisseur) I’m assuming their chicken is what is making the people come back. Why have a giant piece of artwork of a child holding a chicken if not? My friend had the chicken and waffles which was more breading than meat, but who knows, maybe it was just a bad batch. So from your neighborhood chicken period eater, Brick & Bones is alright in my black book.

I came here last night with some friends and we sat at the bar. The food was absolutely amazing. Orgasm in my mouth amazing. Best friend chicken I think I have ever had. We ordered the chicken tenders and the 3 piece. Both amazing. We ordered 4 sides and they were also really awesome. Bartender was great, very friendly, and easy on the eyes. ;-) I’m happy to have a great new addition to Deep Ellum that has quality food, drinks, and service that isn’t pretentious or snotty. Go try it! Now! The people are friendly and the chicken is orgasmic.

After critt mass on a Friday night we were on the side of hangry. Our group of five came in to amazing music and a waitress who matched! Two other friends also came and hung around the table and found a spot to eat when chicken arrived. She was dancing and giving us our menus. Answered all our question… Sexy Chicken is naked chicken with hot sauce. Got our drinks quickly even after a dance arm move knocked a water over. I ordered chicken and waffles. It came out and I thought about asking for hot sauce for the chicken… but then I had my first bite. The crust was just right and prefect. It was crispy, a little kick, and match the juicy chicken. I think it’s the best I’ve had in dallas. The waffle was more crispy then I expected but matched well. Whoever made the choice to make it a chicken beast without bone was smart. It made the whole waffle combo go together wayyyy better.

Staff= Drinks= Food= Cleanliness= Customer appreciation= I have never had a better experience anywhere. I took my wife out and we both enjoyed the hell out of this place. Everyone from the bar staff to the wait staff even the owner treated us great. The chicken is the best I have ever had anywhere including grandmas house. I will for sure be back here again and again. Must try one of their signature drinks. I suggest the Foghorn Leghorn. Spicy and sweet. Great place.

Fried Chicken: 5⁄5(Really good and cheap. New restaurant Rapscallion is charging twice this amount for chicken that’s not half as good.) Chicken Chicharrones: 5⁄5(just like a really good pork rind, essentially) Jalapeño Biscuit: 4⁄5(a little firm but very tasty with gravy) Deviled Eggs: 4⁄5(better than most i’ve had although could still improve) I was drunk so i can’t remember what else we ate… Overall had a great experience though. This place has a good value and i will be back soon. It does not seem like a dive bar though so i think it’s miscategorized. It’s more like an upscale chicken restaurant with cocktails.
