Newman & Taub Vision Center

I just finished reading the comments posted here and as a new patient at this office, I can not agree.
The staff is very caring and thoughtful, dr Taub is very professional and answered all my questions and his office staff if efficient and helpful.
I would not hesitate to refer friends and family.

Fast service, friendly staff, personable physician. I had a detailed exam required for sports officiating and it was performed professionally. They even faxed the form to HQ for me! Niki was especially courteous.

To say the least, I haven’t been pleased with Dr. Taub and Newman. I visited the center and met with Dr. Taub to do some further analysis on my eyes. I found his personality to be uncaring and inconsiderate. I had a long waiting time to see him and when he did come by, he was rushing already to see the next patient waiting. I remember him nonchalantly asking me «does it all made sense?» as he was walking out the door. It was a complete disregard to my needs as a patient. I wish I could say Dr. Newman was much different. He was just marginally better in this regard.
After conducting some tests, they were supposed to send the results to my optometrist. When I visited my optometrist, she said they never sent them. A waste of my time and very unprofessional.
When it came down to payment, the receptionist didn’t know if I had met my deductible yet and didn’t know how much I owed so she jokingly said like, ‘that’s ok — we know where to find you in case you owe any money’. As someone who had recently had a recent onslaught of health expenses (and to the millions overburdened by healthcare expenses), this was no laughing matter for me. It was just another example of how little they care about the health and satisfaction of their patients.
I visited the center for several checkups because of my optometrist referral. They charge a lot and are only with you for 15 minutes at most. I don’t say this lightly, but I’d recommend against coming here. It’s one of the worst services I’ve received at a health center.

I was referred to Dr. Newman by my sister in law. My appointment was at his office in Plano on Coit Road the week of 3-​5-​2012. Without a doubt this doctor should not even be in practice. He was the most rude, ineffective eye doctor that I have ever met in my entire experiences in dealing with these type of doctors. It was obvious he uses scare tactics to put patients under the knife. Even the most uneducated can tell this is a cruel, totally self-​serving doctor. Your first red flag starts in his waiting room with a torn leather chair for patients on to every picture on the walls not being straight. In meeting him, your first impression is poor in his seemly «lost» approach in surveying the needs of a patient. He is totally engrossed in himself to the point he does not even hear what you have to say as to why you are even in his office. You will also find all his office personnel are just as goofy and cold as he is. Save your time and effort and avoid this poor excuse for a doctor.

I saw Dr. Taub a couple years ago because I had dry eyes. Very, very red, dry, irritated eyes. It was obvious I needed eye-​plugs to maintain the moisture in my eyes.
He told me that FIRST he had to put in temporary eye plugs, that would dissolve within a week. If my eyes didn’t over-​tear, then he could give me the permanent plugs. I told him that I had permanent plugs in the past which had fallen out, and that I wanted the perm plugs, not the temps. He said NO, The perm plugs would be very expensive, and we should make sure that I need them by putting in the Temp plugs first.
I think Dr. Taub spent a grand total of 5 minutes with me and pretty much suggested that he was in a hurry and needed to go.
I was charged something like $ 700 for that visit. My HRA acct paid for a good portion of it, but it left my account with almost no money in it. I couldn’t afford the drops he prescribed me which were $ 100 a month, and I certainly couldn’t afford to come back for the permanent plugs.
It’s obvious to me why Dr. Taub put the temporary plugs in my eye… BC he knew I’d have to come back for the perm plugs. HE’S GREEDY AND WANTED TO MAKE MORE MONEY OFF ME.
Doctors are supposed to be caring and help you. This guy isn’t. Don’t support him.
