I am so pleased that a friend directed me to Fagadau, Hawk & Swanson when I first moved to Dallas. I could not be more pleased of the thorough care my eyes get from Dr. Chip Fagadau and Claire Shaw. I know I am getting the best possible care for my eyes and always appreciate the great customer service I receive from every person working in the office.

Dr. Fagadau and all the staff are superb. They really are the best in town.

Dr. Hawk is very professional and highly qualified. Just had bilateral cataract surgery without problems and am now seeing as I did many years ago. His office runs on time and is knowledge and professional while being very friendly and helpful. I would recommend them to anyone who wants the best.

As a former patient at Key-​Whitman, I was delighted to hear from Dr. Hawk last week that no, I don’t have the beginnings of macular degeneration (and therefore I don’t need to continue KW’s expensive eye vitamins) and no, I don’t need cataract surgery as KW had wanted to set up for me last spring. Yes, I’m a fan of this new, responsible, and ethical kind of skill and professionalism.

I recently had cataract and lens replacement in both eyes. Dr. Hawk is the best choice in Dallas. Professional, brilliant, friendly and kind. Clare, his technician, is so helpful, knowledgeable and makes one feel so comfortable. From the front to check out, I was treated with respect and care. I recommend Dr. Hawk and the staff!

Excellent. I have always had trouble wearing contact lenses. Apparently I had never been fitted properly until Steve Fitzpatrick applied his years of experience.

Had an initial appt. with Dr. Swanson this morning at 9:45. Was seen at 11:30. I guess she was a little upset with me since I had bugged her staff about the wait time. She did not communicate well with me, and I left feeling that just wanted to get me out of the office because she knew that I would not be back. Had to ask her questions about conditions that could have happened. Her staff did the refraction — she did not. Am sure there are better and more communicative physicians than she is.

Dr. Hawk and everyone here are friendly, professional, and provide excellent eye care. Dr. Hawk performed lasik surgery to correct my myopia and astigmatism over seven years ago and my eyes are still seeing well.
I would highly recommend this practice. I may have paid a little more for my lasik than if I had gone to a «factory» ophthalmologist, but I was never worried about anything going wrong. Everything went well. Peace of mind is worth a few dollars more.

I’m an insulin dependent diabetic. As such I need to have an eye exam annually to document the state of my eyes and identify any damage caused by high blood sugars. I’ve been seeing Dr Hawk for these exams for about 10 years. I’m always amazed at how thorough his exams are and how openly he explains his findings. Just before this year’s exam I was bothered by a new distracting «floater» and a sensation of lightning flashes when I winked that particular eye. Searching on Google assured me that it would go away on its own. I mentioned it to the assistant before I saw the doctor. Dr Hawk immediately identified this as symptoms of retinal detachment and found the area where my retina was being pulled away. He explained the problem, the procedure to fix it and referred me to a retinal specialist for laser treatment later that day. While I waited for that procedure I ordered new eyeglasses with the prescription Dr. Hawk’s office provided. Quick, thorough, friendly and professional. I’m happy.

Dr. Thomas Hawk and Claire Shaw are both so smart, knowledgable, professional and friendly. They have worked so well as a team to take care of my eyes for at least 20 years. Recently, I had cataract surgery for 1 eye. Dr. Hawk performed the surgery, removed the cataract and inserted a Toric lens, correcting my astigmatism and distance vision. I now have ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision in that eye. In a week, he is removing the cataract in my right eye and correcting the vision in that eye, too. No more glasses/​cataracts after 54 years! I cannot recommend them or the entire office highly enough.

I have been going to Dr. Hawk since 1980. He did both my cataract surgeries and replaced lenses with CRYSTALENS, which has revolutionized my life. I trust him implicitly with my eyecare. Everyone at the practice is professional, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Even though I live in Austin now, I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I have been seeing Steve Fitzpatrick for my contacts since I was a teenager and have gone to this eye doctor’s office for that long for my annual eye exams. Since I am so near-​sighted, I believe I need to be seen by a professional once a year, and they are always accommodating and have provided excellent service for years. I highly recommend this office!

Really appreciate the positive and professional attitude of the whole office, from receptionist to the physicians and billing folks. In times of anxiety as one comes in with illness or recovery from treatment, it makes a big difference to have a good team who treats patents with kindness, speaks with clarity, and provide assurance. Dr. Hawk operated on my eye. Major, complicated procedure. And I chose him coz he is willing and able to explain things to me, providing me with information I needed to make decisions about my health care and to bear the consequences (positive or negative). Highly recommend this office.

I chose Dr Hawk for my cataract surgery on the advice of friends.
They were 100% correct and my experience was even better than I expected.
Everything went like clockwork and Doctor Hawk and the staff are friendly and interested in the patient.
Doctor Hawk could have recommended a more expensive lens replacement but did not and I appreciate and respect his consultation

I have been a patient of Dr. Fagadau and Claire Shaw since the 80’s. I feel like I’ve grown up with these two. I have only very kind words to say about them. They are extremely nice, down to earth, professionals. I would not take my eyes to anyone else. I trust them and know they know what they are doing. I HIGHLY recommend them for taking care of your eyes.

This was like going to a shyster mechanic but instead of cars they treat eyes. Totally unhappy with the way they presented their services, They got me in for the checkup and then «up sold» me without my knowledge. A simple eye exam for contacts, which is what the appointment was made for, turned out to be a MUCH more expensive exam for glasses, which I did not need a prescription for as I already had it. When I went to pay the $ 85 bucks for the contact exam that is when they told me that it was a $ 225 glasses exam. but if I came back the following week they would take $ 10 off the contact exam. Dr. Fagadau himself did my initial «glasses» exam and told me that my eyes would be an easy fix for contacts but when I went back the next week and got the $ 75 exam for the contact prescription they would not give me the prescription!!! I had to buy the contacts from them, $ 300 because I needed «special» contacts.(Evidently either Dr. Fagadau does not know what he is doing for telling me it was an easy fix).so much for the easy fix, plus a $ 150 «fitting» fee for the contacts that I did not intend to buy from them. They refused to refund the $ 75 and refused to give me a prescription. telling me the money was for the exam NOT the prescription.
I am guessing because of their high dollar location they are not accustomed to people asking prices and calling them on their scam.
I went to another Dr. who charged me a proper price, re-​tested my glasses prescription (The one Dr. Fagadau gave me was not correct so even that money spent was a rip off). I got the contacts I needed at a very reasonable price and I have the prescription so I can order online if I find better prices.
Fagadau and Hawk is a rip off,
