Grain Restaurant provides a neighborhood dining experience with farm to table ingredients and pure Texas flavors promoting the value of local: local produce, local meats, and local neighborhood. My party of 9 was the only table in the place for dinner. That should’ve been a sign, but the other places I looked at the night before weren’t available. The OpenTable menu differed significantly from the menu we were actually given, which was a big disappointment. The service was painfully slow. Our food didn’t arrive until more than an hour after we arrived. Given that we were the only table, I can’t imagine how they serve when busier. The food was mediocre.

Had Mother’s Day brunch here. Prices on website do not reflect Mother’s Day. Good thing to of known when we picked this place to come. $ 60 per person. Insane. Food was just okay. Not happy. Updating this to say my son and our friends son actually ended up puking the night after we ate here. Yeah. Not good.

Depending on when you go, food and service is a hit and miss. Love the plate food options and the wine selection was surprisingly better than expected. Breakfast, however, is a different story altogether.
When I came in, there was no greeter in sight and waited a few minutes to get attention. Had to ask for the menu, for condiments, for refill but the bill came right on cue. I had wanted to order something off the menu but seeing how long everything took, I opted the breakfast bar. Eggs were looking dry, so as the tater tots and the French toast which was toastier than I like it (probably a little drier for sitting long). For how much it cost, I definitely didn’t get my money’s worth. I can’t say that I paid for the ambiance either as they have construction going on right outside of the hotel.

When I’m in town I say at the Hilton and this is the restaurant inside the hotel. The food is good, try the crab cakes, the bar service is exceptional, they truly try and please you.

Love! For breakfast, lunch, dinner! And room service! Smoked salmon for breakfast… shaved turkey and provolone sandwich (just warm enough to melt the cheese) with a delicious salad for lunch… and we can’t wait to try dinner. The food is delicious and they do their best to accommodate you’re very wish! Ask for Cathy! She’s amazing!

Excellent light dinner meal. The side salad was plentiful. The Crab Cakes were delicious and the Red Bulls blood sauce was delightful (don’t let the name scare you off) Comfortable yet elegant little restaurant in the Hilton Park Cities. I would not be afraid to bring the kids. Although the menu is small, if you are staying in the hotel as well be aware there may be additional items available (for room service) that are not shown in the dinner menu.

Had a good business lunch here. Service was efficient and quick. Food was very good, especially for hotel food! I had the French onion soup and the lunch steak. The food was all very well prepared and much better than I would have expected… We were in and out in 30 mins, perfect considering we had another meeting to attend. All in all, I was impressed. I will return here.

Highly recommend Grain! The service is attentive and friendly! The food is delicious! My fiancé and I had dinner here with my parents. We started with crab cakes and bacon wrapped shrimp. All yummy! We all ordered different entrees. I had the red fish and the rest of the group had short rib, and 2 different beef dishes. All entrees were amazing! The beef was tender and had a lot of flavor. The chef came out and greeted us and made us feel welcome! Would recommend this restaurant to everyone!

We’d heard enough good things about Grain that we wanted to try brunch there. So, today we did.
Their wait staff was definitely not their a-​team. We were there a good 15 minutes before we were asked about our drink preferences. It was another 10 before we had our coffee. At the time, we were one of two tables.
We had to all but tackle the waiter to place our order. We had some lackadaisically prepared food from the buffet while we waited. And waited.
When our entrées arrived they were OK. Good, but not great. The poached eggs on our Eggs Benedict variations were seriously overcooked. There is no indication what, if anything, was locally sourced which, given their locavore aspirations, would have been a good thing.
Overall, The Old West blows these guys away.
I hope their dinners and lunches are better, but I doubt I’ll bother finding out.

What a great dining experience tonight at Grain! Our party of 9 were there for Restaurant Week and all aspects of the evening were steller. Grain is both a beautiful and comfortable restaurant. This is not the normal «hotel restaurant» one might expect. It is a hidden gem! The R week menu was crafted with great choices, and everyone was happy with their selections. Paul, our waiter, was exceptional, and along with the rest of the staff, delivered one of the most impressive dinners my friends and I have enjoyed in over 15 years of dining together as a group in multiple R week dinners booked each year. The prep, the portions, the presentation were all spot on. Everything was well seasoned but not salty. We had a blast, and from the salad course on it was a parade of beautiful dishes that everyone savored. We applauded the chef when he visited the table for a job well done. We are planning to return soon for Sunday Brunch.

Hotel bars and restaurants can be tricky, since they often have a captive audience. However, the atmosphere and service at Grain are excellent, while the food is a little more hit or miss.
Chris and the rest of the bar-​tending staff truly knew their craft as well as the menus. Chris gave very helpful, spot-​on suggestions for dishes to order. He was friendly and professional, and knew his stuff – I saw him identify a glass of scotch on smell alone.
The steak tips, served on a bed of polenta, with onions on top were plate-​licking material. The polenta was cheesy and salty and the steak was nice and caramelized on the outside while still pink in the center. The crab cakes were not as successful – they were mushy, lacked a nice brown crust, and the sauce they were served with was too sweet.
For a hotel bar, the prices are also really reasonable. Two very large appetizers were only $ 18.75. You can also order the full menu in the bar, which I would recommend. It was quite lively and had a surprising mix of both regulars and tourists.

Grain at Dinner is OUTSTANDING, with very nicely plated items, professional waiters (serve and clear from different sides, wow), and a tidy menu with expense account prices. Grain (aka Hilton Global) at Breakfast is bland and ridiculous, prey to the terrible generic mandates of a franchised menu executed by thoughtless cooks.
The «standard» Hilton breakfast buffet has become something of a bad joke, and we always leave for Torchy’s or other nearby options. It’s sad that the night identity of Grain is going to be mashed into this hotel lobby dead zone.
On a Saturday night, there were only three tables seated, and we were all hotel guests. The hostess stands idle at the doorway, with nothing to do. The menu is very decent for an upscale steakhouse-​style restaurant. I had crab cakes (lovely). The stuffed baked potato was oddly assembled. Caesar salad was well-​made with either house or high quality bought croutons. The dessert was ADORABLE and featured homemade caramel gelato. Really great. Why isn’t the night-​time pastry chef making the breakfast pastries? It would be stunning.
If you find yourself in the Park Cities after a business meeting, need dinner but don’t want to wait at Hillstone (and don’t care about being untrendy), Grain would be an excellent choice. And bonus, no one would overhear your business plans!

They have completely redone this hotel and it looks great! The lobby, bar and restaurant are very nicely decorated and have an elegant feel to the spaces. Our server was great — professional, helpful and friendly! The food was flavorful and just tasted great… the citrus crusted salmon with sweet potato and succotash was delish!
