MMM Carpets

From one extreme to the other.
2005 we did our whole house with Jerry at the concord location, Hard wood upstairs and carpet down. What a great experience with all 3 crews.
2013 experience not so much. We were actually replacing one of the rooms ber ber carpet that kept getting snagged and stained too much (Never really impressed with their warranty). The warranty sounds great but all in all take it or leave it for me.
So 2013 experience from sales room to completion what a joke.
Dealing with them before and not wanting Home Dumpo to install we went with it.
The larger gentleman (Sales man at Concord) was lazy. We had to keep getting him to ask questions. He was nice but not a very helpful as a sales man.
The Installers show up and bacak halfway into my driveway with their smoking scuzzy jalopy of a van. I check under it as i see some oil spots Yup Dripping. I ask (Nicely) the driver to move the van, well i asked the other passanger first but apparently he No Hable so the driver stated «that why I only pull part way into driveway». So now it is acceptable to drip oil at the end of my driveway. I show him the drips and he moves it 10 feet more in street (I END UP CLEANING IT UP!).
Knowing they will be probably be wanting to cut the carpet outside i clean and sweep my garage and driveway. Yup sure enough he wants to chuck my new carpet down in the street where it would fall out of his truck. I told him I cleaned the complete drive and garage area to work on the carpet not in the dirty street.
Next they do their cuts install the carpet and are ready to leave. I go and look in the room sure nice and vacuumed and only a few minor scuffs on wall. I removed the base board to make it easier for the guys. I also removed the closet doors that I installed a few days prior. So needless to say he hit and dented the main slider rail on the floor. When I showed him he in his multi lingual ability said «I no do dat, I profesional, I profesional» I installed with screws two nights prior!
They soon leave and when I go outside on my way back to work and there is are carpet scraps and fuzz blowing all over my drive way heading down into my neighbors drive and yard, ya I clean that up too. SO, I ordered a new rail and took the $ 22.29 bill to the sales man in the store he said no problem… I checked a month later, Oh no problem let me remind corporate to send you out a check. The third time he gave me corporate’s # for me to call. Well guess what it’s automated, when you when you ask for operator it hangs up on you, when you hit 4 for complaints it blast a fax sound in your ear, same with service tech. Sure push off your job into the customer. Just what I have time for. ya $ 20 bucks is not worth the chase but this review sure is.
I AM NOT EVEN GIVING ALL DETAILS TO KEEP IT SHORT.
WHAT A JOKE !! NEVER AGAIN.

A complete disaster…
After doing much homework on price and carpet samples shopping, we selected MMM Carpets in Concord specifically because of Robert Castellanos our Sales Rep. Robert was patient, knowledgeable, courteous, prompt and their price was the best. I have nothing but absolute appreciation and respect for Robert. Robert is the only stand up guy I have dealt with at MMM.
When the carpet installers came in, it was estimated to be a 2 day install to re carpet our entire home. We made great efforts to remove smaller items, move furniture etc to make it as easy as possible. At the end of the day it turned out to be a 5 day installation. This caused us to jump through major hoops to take time off of work, sleep in different rooms etc. To make matters worse, the installers inadvertently burnt our custom drapery doing over $ 7K in damage. I fully understand that accidents happen, but the installers did not bring their damage to my attention as they did not want to upset my wife and I until the project was complete. They said that they were going to mention the damage but I certainly have my doubts. You would expect that such a mess would draw the attention of the owner and supervisors. I called the Supervisor two times with no return call. You would think I would get an apology call from the owner. Nothing.
I have now been turned over to MMM’s Insurance Company to try and get our drapery replaced. You can imagine how thrilled I am. MMM is not a company I would ever do business with.

We needed two rooms carpeted and we wanted the best carpet so we did one room with Stainmaster Trusoft carpet and the other with Karastan’s top-​of-​the-​line Smartstrand carpet. Both manufacturers guarantee their products to be essentially stain-​proof for life. The Karastan carpet had the added attraction of being almost as soft as my cat’s fur! But not as cute ;0)
Anyway, the carpet we ordered is great, and after I accidentally dripped some paint on the Karastan Smartstrand and was able to easily wipe it up I can tell you that the carpet is INCREDIBLY stain resistant and easy to clean!
I love the carpet and thank MMM for having such a broad selection. However, the buying experience with all the haggling involved did leave me feeling like I was buying a used car, and after spending $ 5,000 (about $ 8.50 per square foot including waterproof pad) to carpet two rooms I had this nagging case of buyer’s remorse and kicked myself for not shopping around more — we did price one other place and their pricing was similar so I think we probably did not get ripped off, but we might have been able to do better. Oh well.
I have one major complaint. MMM sent out ONE GUY to pull out the old carpet and install the new. One guy to remove the old carpet and put in over 500 sqft of new carpet in two rooms. The carpet (old and new) weighed well over a hundred pounds and it had to be carried up & down two flights of stairs, trimmed, spliced, kicked-​in and then cleaned-​up all by one guy. It took him almost a whole day to do the work and we had to take off time from our jobs to be there. I think the installer did a decent job but there is no way an exhausted person can do their best! When we complained about the short-​staffing of our job the response was pretty much «oh, sorry, but you like the carpet right?»
All in all yes, we love the carpet but felt like we were stiffed in the service department. I give MMM Carpet 3.5 stars.

Worked out great! Jerry at MMM gave me a great estimate very competitively, to come on budget, with a little extra! Did not want to give out a Unilocal until the work was done… The installers were absolutely great!!! Could not have done a better job! Getting vinyl or linoleum ask Jerry to send Kevin and Bud!

I had a great experience with MMM Carpets. Jerry was honest, knowledgable and on-​the-​ball. He kept in regular contact with me about my order, which involved binding-​which meant longer delivery time. The work was excellent, his price was very good, and the carpet is gorgeous. Jerry was great to work with, and we got an excellent quality area rug.

My experience with MMM carpet was outstanding. Jerry spent a lot of time and was honest and helpful. The carpet installers were professional, efficient and truly skilled. I highly recommend MMM carpet.

Bought a Stainmaster carpet that retained a stain after cleaning per MFG directions. MMM worked with us to resolve the problem. At first Stainmaster wanted to just replace a small section of carpet but the carpet had been discontinued. MMM was able to get all the carpet replaced with a similar product. They did a great job.

OK, I dunno what happened with the other 2 bad reviews, but my experience could not have been any different…
I got 3 estimates for my carpet. I pretty much thought that Home Depot would get my business but decided to do my due diligence. Empire was TERRIBLE and try to get you with a bait-​and-​switch and make you decide on the spot to get the better ‘next day delivery’ price. Home Depot was fine.
Jerry from MMM came out with a berber that he had told me about on the phone. It was perfect and his estimate (including installation and everything) came out to the same as Home Depot without any of the hassle of having to go to Home Depot, etc…
A week later the guys showed up for the install. They did a GREAT job. I had just had all my baseboards repainted and they didn’t leave any scuffs. The lines were all straight and seamless seems. They had some extra and even put it in a closet of mine that wasn’t part of my estimate.
Overall a FANTASTIC experience. No pressure sale, BEAUTIFUL carpet, best price, quick and professional install.

If you use MMM Carpets (off Willow Pass) you can expect them to 1) forget to call you when your carpet is in; 2) make black marks all along your baseboard and leave them for you to dael with; and 3) if you request the spot carpet cleaning product that they promise to you you will have to go there to get it and deal with a snotty sales sperson. Booo.

we ordered carpet from here for a self install… when we went to pick it up they «forgot» to have a pad delivered as well… going on three months later we still are waiting for a check to reimburse us for our loss!!!
