The day to day business of Rafael Floors is managed by a group that have been involved with the company for decades. A surprising number of Rafael Floors people are 10 to 35 years employees.

Longevity translates into experienced product knowledge, excellent customer service, and better quality installations.

Rafael Floors has won the Pacific Sun’s «Best of Marin — Carpet Store» seven times, Best Hardwood Store three times, and is in the Best of Marin Hall of Fame.

Rafael Floors has a 5000 square foot showroom, which provides ample opportunities to view a full range of styles and colors of wool and synthetic carpet, vinyl, linoleum (a «GREEN» alternative), hardwood and the newest laminate floors.

Employees train to acquire CFS (Certified Flooring Specialists) and CFI (Certified Flooring Installers) designations to keep them up to date on the latest trends in product and installation techniques.

Established in 1957.

Rafael Floors, Abbey Carpet Center celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2007. For most of those years — since 1962 — Ron Leach has been a part of a flooring company that has been proud to be of service to the people of Marin. Co-​owner Steve Villa joined the company in 1978.

I had these guys instal carpet in two of my bedrooms. I must say from the beginning to end of the purchase and installation, they were friendly, very competent, and kept all of their promises.
The showroom is really nice. It’s huge with plenty of selection. The staff is very knowledgeable and you can take some samples home if you’re not quite sure.
The ordering process was fast and simple once decided.
On installation day, the guys were on time and did a great job. They even finished before schedule.
I’m going to do hardwood floors in my entire place in a few years and I’m going to go straight here to have them do it.
Definitely recommend this place!

Rafael Floors installed carpeting in my bedrooms in 2008 and did a great job. So when I decided to put hardwood in my Living Area, Kitchen, Steps and Home Office, it was an easy choice to consult with them again. Robert brought samples and helped me select a wood that is beautiful and coordinates well with my kitchen cabinets and furniture, and which stands up to whatever my 2 year-​old granddaughter can throw at it. Mike and his crew removed limestone, tile and carpet, floated the wood and cement floors and installed over 1,000 square feet of hardwood in 3 days. Everyone who sees the new floor for the first time is amazed at how beautiful it is and at the impact it has on the warmth and beauty of my home. I will never go anywhere else but Rafael Floors for future home remodeling work.

Have lived in Marin since 1977 and have always counted on Rafael Floors to handle our carpeting and vinyl flooring.
We recently had some water damage in our bathroom that developed into an insurance claim on our homeowners policy. Maggie and staff was very patient with the adjuster making us jump through hoops before the work could be completed.
Loyalty and longevity is a two-​way street and this vendor is exceptional!

Outstanding sales people who helped me find exactly the type of carpet to fit my décor, lifestyle, and budget. They even helped with color selection and came to my house and made recommendations based on an unusual staircase. Installation was done with no damage to the house and thought and care was put into every aspect of laying the carpet. Integrity and quality every step of the way. Robert in sales is particularly strong.

I have used Rafael Floors in the past and will do so in the future. Jeff, the installer, was polite, clean, efficient and extremely conscientious. My carpet actually had a manufacturer flaw, and it was replaced at my convenience with no extra cost, and no excuses. Steve Villa contacted the manufacturer, sent them a photo of the large flaw, and new carpet was sent out immediately. It’s nice to work with a local business that cares about its customers’ satisfaction. It’s not just a slogan. I also have to say that their TV ads are quite humorous. Thanks again to everyone at Rafael Floors who made my new carpet experience great!

I don’t write long reviews so let me cut right to the chase. Steve Villa and his crew are as professional as it gets. They are courteous, knowledgeable, responsive and have your best interest at heart. They refinished our existing floors in the front part our new house, laid down new floors in the back to match the existing and it all looks exactly the same, as we requested. Brilliant work and done so in the time they said they were going to finish. There was even one snafu in the process, which I created, and they fixed it without a hitch. Bottom line, use these guys. You won’t be disappointed.

These guys are top notch. We had our engineered hardwood floors refinished for the second time (first time was another outfit from E Francisco blvd — and they did a extremely mediocre job). Steve from RF came out and looked at the floor and agreed that he could refinish the floor this second time … Which talks to his expertise and integrity.
They later came out on my request to fix a few creeks in the floor — the tech spent a good two hours and addressed the issue like it was his home, and they didn’t even charge for it.
They have a great selection, great to work with, superb pricing for what they do. I would wholeheartedly recommend Rafael Floors, best floor shop in town. Thanks Steve !

I hired Rafael Floors to carpet my hardwood steps in my home & they did an amazing job. Their staff at the store were great to work with, lots of helpful suggestions and tasteful ideas. Steve the owner came out to measure for me & actually talked me out of replacing my upstairs carpeting. He said it was still in good condition and just needed to be cleaned. His installer did a very professional job on my stairs and it looks terrific. I highly recommend them and would use them in the future.
One other comment. I don’t know about you but I’m very picky about who I let work in my home and their installer was on time, clean and very respectful. Great job!
