Used this company today after my family had referred them to me and I wish I could give them 10 stars. Everyone that I dealt with from start to finish was great. Ruben, (the tech) who came out to help, was very professional and fixed my A/​C up with a quickness. My dog liked Ruben and she doesn’t like anyone! You never know who you’re gonna get when you call a company that has someone come to your home, but I was completely impressed with this company and will refer people to them every chance I get. Thank you!

These guys were great. Got appointment for ailing furnace within 2 days, even though it wasn’t urgent. As promised, they repaired it without trying to sell us a whole new system, like the last guy did.
Price was as quoted and reasonable.

Capitol Mechanical was awesome! I have used them in the past, but it’s been several years since I’ve needed to call them. Then. .. my AC went out on a Sunday. I sent them a «HELP ME!» request via e-​mail and they called early Monday morning and sent a technician by noon. They fixed the problem within an hour, and didn’t try at all to sell me anything that I didn’t need. They were very responsive, friendly, and honest!

This was my first time using Capital Mechanical. When I called them to schedule an appointment they came out as soon as they were able. They got here at 9am and in 15 mins they fixed my AC and saved me a ton of money. They were great! Very nice people and a pleasure to deal with.

Last week I used Capitol Mechanical for the first time to have my heater checked out before cold weather started. I had been using another company for 7 years and felt it was time to go elsewhere because of the way that other company pushed annual maintenance agreements. If a company does good work, treats me fairly and is competitively priced, I will use them again without the need for an annual maintenance agreement and basically paying them months in advance.
Anyway, I was very impressed with Capitol’s service technician, Brandon. He was such a pleasant young man and was so knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the main operating parts, why he was checking them or how/​what could go wrong with a heater and how my unit checked out. I felt assured that it would keep us warm another winter and was glad I gave Capitol a try and would use them again.

I’ve used Capital Mechanical several times, and I have nothing but good things to say about them. I’m very cynical, and also well aware that there are a lot of shady people in this particular industry, so I have always gone into any contact with HVAC folks with caution, just to put my review in perspective.
I own an older duplex as a rental, and about once a year, I have to have some work done on the aging HVAC system that came with the property. The first time, I called a different company, and they told me something major had to be replaced, special order parts, etc., at a cost of about $ 3000. I decided to get a second opinion, and called Capital Mechanical. Their guy came out the same day, determined that it needed something very simple and easy to replace, at a cost of about $ 80 total.
Since then I’ve also had them out to my own home, because I was having trouble with a new system installed by a different company. That other company had gone «out of business» (in reality, they just changed their name, same owners, same everything, but they refused to stand behind the work done by a «different» company!).
Capital Mechanical took their time to carefulyl explain to me and show me exactly what the other company had done wrong with the installation, which was causing my trouble. Again, it was relatively inexpensive to repair, like around $ 100, which is nothing when you consider the drive time, and other costs associated with running their business.
Whenever I’ve called on them, they have rushed right out. Once, during a major heatwave, they told me I might have to wait a day, and they were extremely apologetic. Ultimately, they got someone out later the same day and took care of my problem.
I’m also very accustomed to dealing with cost «overruns» when dealing with contractors. Such things happen, of course, but it has yet to happen to me when dealing with Capital Mechanical. On more than one occasion, their bill has been less than originally quoted, because the job didn’t take as long as they thought it would. Understand, I’d already agreed to the higher price and would be plenty happy just to find that the cost didn’t increase once the work was done! Bearing in mind also, that this was work done at a tenant occupied dwelling. I was not there to monitor how long it took.
I think the nature of HVAC systems is such that there’s always going to be people who are unhappy. I’m very skeptical of low rated reviews for this firm, especially those that give one star. I honestly couldn’t be happier with this company.

My father was a contractor and used them his entire career. After having them bid out about 10 different jobs against 2 other companies each time, I stopped going anywhere else. I’ve been using them for over 6 years as my HVAC company on investment properties as well as my family’s homes. Quality people offering quality service. This is the ONLY trade I get one quote for because Gary and his crew are always best bang for the buck

I can’t say enough about the courtesy, professionalism and service provided to me by the team at Capital Mechanical. From the youngest field technician Randy through the shop engineer Jim to the owners Gary and his wife, we received the attention to detail that made the experience exceptional. Even after the job was finished we discovered an issue that was truly not the fault of the quality of the installation but his team provided the time, materials and engineering to solve the issue. Small business is the life blood of our country and Capital Mechanical has the heart to keep it pumping. Thanks again Gary for a job well done. Jim and Liz M.

So my family woke up one morning cold, and smelling a burning smell coming through the air ducts. Something was obviously wrong with the heater. I crawled around in the attic and pulled the panels off the heater and discovered the furnace was igniting and the burners were burning, but the blower wasn’t blowing the hot air out. So, when I got to work, a coworker referred me to Capitol Mechanical. She is friends with the owners and said they do honest work, so I took a chance.
A tech named Dave came out and within ten minutes had the problem diagnosed. It was simply a burned up capacitor, a simple $ 20 part. Talk about honest work, he could of told me it was the blower motor and charged me a bunch and I wouldn’t have doubted it.
I’ll be calling Capitol Mechanical in the future if I need service or even a new system. Thank you guys!

Capital mechanical installed a new HVAC unit and all the duct work for my home. Gary is a nice guy, but tends to say whatever it takes to keep you happy. The work took much more time than expected and dragged on for weeks after the initial installation. I had problems with the system immediately. Gary’s guys came out week after week to check the unit and make sure everything was working. to no avail. They could not figure out why it was so loud and the heat distribution was poor. After months of research on my end, I spoke with the energy commission and found out there was mandatory testing that Capital Mechanical was required to do prior to installation. This testing was NOT done by Capital and they had no idea it was even required and what the testing was about. This testing gives the installer all the information needed to install the proper unit and duct work. I had to hire another company to do the test and for results. Gary refused to fix the problem. I had to make a complaint through the state board and go through arbitration. I was refunded a small amount to fix the problem. I was not reimbursed for the testing that I paid out of my own pocket. And which is required by law. And Capital Mechanical did not receive any marks against his license. so there is no record on his license that he did not do required testing or that he had any problems with this at all. the systems sucks. I do not recommend this company.
